::{{Comment}} I verify that I have offered ToBeFree informal mentorship as a possible new reviewer at AFC. He has demonstrated a high understanding of the instructions for reviewing drafts and has asked appropriate questions on the parts that seemed confusing. I believe he will make a great addition to help with the AFC backlog. If there needs to be further discussion, I can frequently be found on AFC and will check back here if pinged. Thank you! User:Kirbanzo

I've been on this project for a while now, dealing with bad new articles during that time, so helping with the draft space is an interest of mine. I will be willing to help others with their AfC submissions, and I understand the process of reviewing a draft.
If I am accepted, I promise to to do my best to assist in the AfC project as much as possible. Kirbanzo (talk) 15:59, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am inclined to oppose this request, based on recent encounters with Kirbanzo, until I have more confidence they will be able to field new user's questions effectively without biting their heads off. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 23:43, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
For example here, where you told an editor that they were blanking without leaving an edit summary, while the edit summary was quite clearly provided by the editor. Therefore, the suggestion is to be more careful in such edits, participate in the article space, AFD, CSD desks; Twinkle would be a good support. Reapply after perhaps 2-3 months of no mistakes. Thanks.

User:Otr500

I believe I would be an asset to the project. I feel that I have extensive knowledge of the policies and guidelines, that include core content and Copyright violations, and have created close to 80 articles having "autopatrolled" rights. I have read the AFC reviewing instructions and have participated in AFD's but see there is a backlog in AFC so think I can help. I would also like to be considered for NPR. User:NewsTeamAssemble

I primarily dabble in popular culture-related topics and have a handful of created articles over the years (music, television and cannabis come to mind). AfD and policy Talk discussions certainly have their merits and have become more commonplace for me to contribute as I've become less discouraged and more comfortable with assessing the guidelines. I reviewed the criteria and would like to try my hand at AfC and feel I can add meticulous-ness and a willingness to copyedit to the Project. News Team Assemble![talk?] 05:39, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Has enough mainspace edits but almost no edits to Wikipedia space which means no experience with WP:AFD and WP:MFD. Without a demonstrated handle on what will and will not survive deletion discussions it is hard to judge pages at AfC. I also suggest turning on the CSD log and Twinkle and going to work on deleting some unsuitable pages in Draft or Userspace to show understanding of what is speedy deletable since we see so much of that at AfC. Legacypac (talk) 07:33, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but unfortunately it looks like you took Legacypac's advice as a challenge and jumped in head-first without possibly fully understanding what they were suggesting. I would highly suggest you enable the CSD log in your Preferences, so that when (or if) you apply in the future we can look to see if there's any marked improvement. I would also suggest slowing down and maybe hanging around WP:AFD instead, since that is a little slower-paced and allows for more discussion and nuance. Primefac (talk) 22:09, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:Spinster300

I have been interested in helping out in reducing the AFC backlog for quite some time now; I have studied the reviewing instructions for a month now and I meet the eligibility criteria, having created 70+ articles (usually translations of biographies from foreign languages). I believe I have a thorough understanding of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines and hope to contribute to this project to the best of my abilities. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 06:51, 20 November 2018 (UTC).[reply]
I don't see any experience with WP:AfD which is really important to understanding what is and is not acceptable here. You should also turn on your WP:CSD log in preferences and get some experience in deletion as we process a lot of junk at AfC. Legacypac (talk) 07:40, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not done, does not meet minimum editing criteria. Primefac (talk) 21:38, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:LakesideMiners

I sometimes see drafts that are never going to be accepted in their current state, having no sources, being about some random kid or the like. I would like to be able to decline these in order to help drafts that are good get reviewed faster. LakesideMinersMy Talk Page 19:02, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
User:LakesideMiners would be a valuable addition to AfC. Shows understanding of content creation, SPI, and other areas. A little light on AfD and MfD experience but obviously understands notability and sourcing. Legacypac (talk) 22:18, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I hate to do this but at this point in time I oppose this, if it matters. Lakeside has virtually no AFD experience and no other areas that would indicate they understand the requirements for mainspace or AFC. Praxidicae (talk) 01:37, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Praxidicae, well that is true. I am planing on working on that. LakesideMinersMy Talk Page 02:19, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Not done for now. You have a ton of article-space edits, but more than 90% of them are huggle reverts. It's good to see you know your vandalism, but that leaves almost no room for demonstrating the rest of the pre-requisites for access to AFCH. Primefac (talk) 21:51, 21 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest putting that vandal fighting experience to use seeking deletion of spam amd copyvio waiting for review at AfC. Than reapply. Legacypac (talk)
Legacypac, Thank you for the advice. Will do! LakesideMinersMy Talk Page 15:03, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:Thegooduser

I would like to review AFC Articles, and reduce the backlog, I have been reverting and Tagging articles for deletion, and been reverting a lot of promotional edits, Original Research, and I've also created a few pages on the Simple English Wikipedia. I understand what qualifies and what does not qualify as a article. If you decline my request that's fine, I will read the reason why. :) Thanks--Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 03:47, 22 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I understand all the policies and guidelines for inclusion in Wikipedia. Currently i have been assigned a WP:NPR rights. I can be put on a probationary period for now. I had a rough start to Wiki, the experienced editors did not explain most of why the opposed a lot of the contributions I have made and almost discouraged me to continue on here; since then I have a much greater understanding, co-operated a lot better with others too. Hopefully my rough start will mean I will be more understanding to new users than others. Created a ton of articles, improved tons more and have a string of green in my contributions list, been on here a long time. Have partaken in some AfD dicussions, proposed some deletions. I'll probably be sticking to sports mostly as I'm familiar with WP:FPL WP:FOOTY etc. and that is where I generally contribute Abcmaxx (talk) 18:52, 2 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank-you for your interest. With no AfD experience it will be very difficult to evaluate the chances of a page surviving an AfD. Also, no article creations at all. Come back when you have some experience with page creation and deletion. Thanks. Legacypac (talk) 22:17, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:Milowent

I would like to help out with AfC. I've been around for awhile, been an editor for about 10 years, with varying interests over time, including at AfD, reducing the backlog of unreferenced BLPs, as a creator of the WP:TOP25, but always and foremost as a creator and editor of articles. I don't know if AfC will give me an opportunity to encourage new editors to write good articles off the bat that don't need AfC intervention, but its a hope of mine.--Milowenthasspoken 15:14, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to get more involved and believe I meet the basic AfC requirements. I also have a decent record at Articles for Deletion and while my personal article creations have been mostly stubs I haven't had any issues with them (except for a single deletion of an article I made early in my Wikipedia career). I've read the reviewing instructions and requirements. Wolfson5 (talk) 06:55, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now. I'm a little concerned with the decline at AFC, the block, and other notices on your talk page (mostly regarding CSD nominations). I'd like to see a bit more positive activity at AFD and a good CSD log (enable it in your preferences). Primefac (talk) 23:39, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Primefac: AFC is declined cause they couldn't review the page and has not given any suitable reason and suggested for DRV and about my block it was long time ago cause of vandalism and now i have rollback right as i have learned many things regarding that and there are two csd which i filed too soon cause i found that they were not suitable while i was patrolling through new pages feed. I can help with the backlog. The Draft:FIS Cross-Country World Cup records and statistics is in my area of expertise since I competed in Alpine World Cup and know a reasonable amount about cross country, so I looked at how I could review it. I have participated in a few AfD discussions recently, and fixed up the articles so that they were kept. Spam/Junk is easy to spot and delete. I understand WP:AFD and WP:MFD. I think it is important to help those that have bothered to go through the draft process and am happy to put the effort in. Fixing things is more work, and I have helped with some good article reviews and the good article process has some similarities to operating the review script process, and I have read and understand the instructions.RonaldDuncan (talk) 19:23, 19 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Probation, which will be evaluated in 3-6 months. Being on probation only means that you can be removed from the list for any reason without prior discussion. Primefac (talk) 23:47, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User:Nathan2055

Following up from my request in October, I'm now rerequesting as I have gained quite a bit of more recent experience voting in AfDs, CSDing spam drafts (and reporting problem accounts associated), and moving drafts to proper titles as they get submitted. I do apparently still have AFCH access due to being grandfathered in, and I have declined a few blatant problematic drafts as I've encountered them, but I've held off on any large-scale reviewing until I get approved. I'm hoping I can get moved to the active list and get the NPP bit since I'm going to have a lot of free time for a few weeks over winter break to work on reviewing. Nathan2055talk - contribs 10:12, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I had been an AfC reviewer for a brief period in the past, before going inactive due to RL issues (and hence getting my name automatically removed from the list). I believe in interacting with the new editors submitting drafts and guiding them, and indeed have done this in the past.
I am also interested in the working of the AFCH script - and contributing to its development if I feel like it. I have been contributing to Twinkle for quite some time and am looking for more work to do in the realm of user scripts on Wikipedia.
Thanks for your consideration, and Happy new year to you! SD0001 (talk) 17:29, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to apply for probation, for 100 decisions instead of a time limit. During the last few months, I have helped users with their drafts at #wikipedia-en-help, and I have used the "Copypatrol" tool to identify copyright violations, often in the draft namespace. Pure violations appear as red links in my CSD log; I am unsure how to provide a list of the revision deletions. Via IRC, Snowycats has offered me mentoring as an introduction to the AfC process.
  • In the first phase of the mentoring, Snowycats will provide links to un-processed revisions of drafts that he has previously declined or accepted. Without having a look at the history, I will tell Snowycats via IRC how I would have decided, and why.
  • In the second phase of the mentoring, I will send draft links to Snowycats. Snowycats will check my decisions before I make them on Wikipedia.
  • If both phases have been successful, Snowycat will likely drop supervision for the last part of the 100 decisions.
I will not use the AfC helper script without supervision unless Snowycats has allowed me to do so in phase 2. I have read through the reviewing instructions, the on-wiki documentation of the helper script, and the extended documentation page in the "afch-rewrite" GitHub repository.
After 100 decisions, I'll report back here. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:39, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
