The interwiki MetaProject on open proxies seeks to enforce the prohibition against editing from open proxies by identifying, verifying, and indefinitely blocking open proxies. To prevent abuse or vandalism, only proxy checks by verified users will be accepted. All users are welcome to discuss on the talk page, report possible proxies, or request that a blocked IP be rescanned.
If you need a script please take a look at User:Tawker/proxscript - Tawker's proxycheck frontend
Alerts
Please report IP addresses you suspect are open proxies below. A project member will scan or attempt to connect to the proxy, and if confirmed will indefinitely block the address. IPs blocked on Wikipedia but not on other wikis should be moved to the MetaProject. Please use this format:

67.174.126.253 | user | talk | edits | log | RBL-google-whois | block-log | This one was reviewed and marked as an open proxy, but was then marked as not blocked (see the entry in the reviewed section) and seems to be fumbled without any definite resolution. Could someone recheck this one? Jesse Viviano 01:24, 22 August 2006 (UTC) |

66.240.226.11 | user | talk | edits | log | RBL-google-whois | block-log | Formerly a tor exit node, but the machine is no longer set up as one, and I have no plans for it to resume being an exit node in the future. |
210.0.201.213 | user | talk | edits | log | RBL-google-whois | block-log | A user says on the talk page: Gateway from Hutchison Global Communications, a Hong Kong ISP. Blocking means some users cannot edit.

65.98.90.51 | user | talk | edits | log | RBL-google-whois | block-log | A user says on the talk page: 65.98.90.51 is not an open proxy. I live in a country which filters and restricts access to the internet. 65.98.90.51 is my private server, accessible only to me, and an important part of my efforts to access the public internet. I have been using this IP for years now, and while I obviously do run software which allows me to access the internet through 65.98.90.51, access controls have not yet failed as far as I know (try using a public proxy checker such as http://nospam-pl.net/op.php ). fyi 65.98.90.51 resolves to pat.ubgm.com, and pat.ubgm.com resolves to 65.98.90.51 - you may contact me by sending an email to info (at) ubgm (dot) com

194.154.211.73 | user | talk | edits | log | RBL-google-whois | block-log | A user says on the talk page: The IP is owned by an international law firm, which recently upgraded to a new proxy server which is much more secure than the previous one! RIPE WHOIS resolves this IP to "Etude Arendt-Medernach". --Deathphoenix ʕ 14:09, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

154.35.1.12 | user | talk | edits | log | RBL-google-whois | block-log | A user says on the talk page: "This is really lame. I am the person who is responsible for running the Tor node and I have taken it offline. I hate having to choose between freedom of speech and privacy to those who need it and being able to edit Wikipedia, but I don't want to suffer for the actions of others. Please release this block, I have taken the Tor server down. --Jeff" |
