Hatred's Kingdom: How Saudi Arabia Supports the New Global Terrorism is a New York Times Best Seller by former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, and current President of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, Dore Gold.^[1] In Hatred’s Kingdom, Dore Gold analyzes the roots of Wahhabism within Saudi society, and how tracing this historical evolution can be used to understand Saudi Arabia’s current links to the “new global terrorism.” The book was published by Regnery and released in February 2003.

==Thesis==

In order to understand the roots of the September 11 attacks, argues Gold, foreign policy experts must comprehend the sheer influence and doctrinal ideology of Saudi Wahhabism. This establishes the central thesis of Gold’s narrative, which seeks to counter both the traditional assumptions of Saudi Arabia as a modern and staunch U.S. ally, and the apologetic arguments that explain the root causes of September 11 through economic and political discontent rather then emanating from religious extremism.

Though the work can categorically be described as a critic of the Wahhabi influence within Saudi society, Gold is careful to differentiate between the object of his critic and mainstream Islam. He does this by arguing that the continued indoctrination of Wahhabism within Saudi Arabia is as dangerous for Western civilization, as it is for Islam itself.
