Interaction bans are a kind of editing restriction imposed either by the Arbitration committee or by community consensus as usually determined on one of the two active administrative notice boards: WP:ANI or WP:AN. The standards and best-practices for Interaction bans are listed below.

Generally, the editors under an interaction ban may not

  • edit pages in the other's user and user talk space;
  • reply to each other in discussions;
  • directly or indirectly, make reference to or comment on each other anywhere on Wikipedia; or
  • undo each other's edits to any page (whether by use of the revert function or by other means).

Usually the editors under sanction are not prohibited from editing the same pages or discussions as long as they do not interact with each other.
