  • Keep. It's not great quality, but I checked out the Common galaxias article and they didn't have an image at all, so I went ahead and added it in. I think having it adds to the page, even if the image isn't the best ever. Since it's encyclopedic, no longer orphaned, and under a free license, I see no reason to delete it at this time. Nick Thorne and I actually just had a discussion on my talk page about this [1], and it turns out that the reason to delete the image isn't just that it's poor quality, but also that it's possibly mislabelled. While to my untrained eye it looked similar to many pictures of the fish, I'm not a fish expert and Nick says it's not the same fish, and I will trust him. As a misleading image, it actually hurt the encyclopedia to keep, so I'll move to endorsing its deletion.
Also, I commented on this earlier but then removed my comment because I wasn't sure, but since this is a commons image wouldn't the deletion debate need to happen there? Vickser (talk) 19:09, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'd run across the page before when I wasn't particularly knowledgeable at images, and hadn't taken note of it, figuring it was probably a publicity photo her agent had released as the photo itself looks extremely professional. The hair, the make up, the lighting: it looks like a proper photoshoot. However, today I clicked on its license and noticed that the image claims to be a freely released photo taken on vacation. It also, however, credits Paige Craig, a professional photographer.[3] To me it seems highly unlikely that a professional photographer did a full set up of hair and make up for a vacation photo, and if they were to, they wouldn't qualify it as a vacation photo.
