The record's songs were recorded throughout Spring and Summer 2007 and recording was completed in October. Karl Koch has written that the album's recording process was "very cool," and "very fresh," comparing it to a "musical farm". Some fans on the Weezer boards speculated that Koch was dropping hints as to a farm concept album comparing the song "Pig" to the comments Karl made. Half of the album was recorded during the Spring of 2007 with Rick Rubin overseeing production. At the beginning of the album's creation each Weezer member asked themselves what they wanted to out of the album. With that in mind, they set out to record.

[[18 October]], [[2007]]- Weezer has finally finished recording their sixth album. All tracks have been recorded, and now Weezer is searching for someone to mix the album. Not much else has been released at this point. This was also confirmed by Scott on the weezer.com blog.

In a [[Rolling Stone]] interview, Rivers Cuomo said that the sixth album would be due in April 2008.

On November 7th, a release date of April 22nd, 2008 was incorrectly posted on Albumsix.com. Later on November 19th, a website entitled "Album Six", which weezer.com previously mentioned had no affiliation with weezer.com, incorrectly announced that the album's name was "Tout Ensemble." Shortly after, Karl posted on the official Weezer website that Tout Ensemble was not the name of the new album.

The album has been confirmed to be mixed by [[Rich Costey]].

The upcoming sixth studio album by Weezer is expected to be released sometime in Spring 2008. Rick Rubin has been named as the producer of the album.[1] In a Rolling Stone interview, front man Rivers Cuomo stated that the band was finished recording and is currently searching for someone to mix the album. He described the recording process as "very fresh and experimental."[2] Unlike past Weezer records, all four members will contribute songwriting and lead vocals. It is possible that the song "Pig," by Rivers Cuomo, which leaked as a demo in April 2007, could appear.

Early Recording and Speculation

The record's songs were recorded throughout Spring and Summer 2007 and recording was completed in October. Karl Koch has written that the album's recording process was "very cool," and "very fresh," comparing it to a "musical farm".
