Saturday Night's Main Event I

May 11, 1985 (taped May 10, 1985) - Long Island, New York - Nassau Coliseum [1]

• The U.S. Express (Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham) & Ricky Steamboat (w/Lou Albano) defeated Nikolai Volkoff, The Iron Sheik & George Steele (w/Classy Freddie Blassie)
  • Windham pinned Steele with a roll up from behind after the Sheik and Volkoff both refused to be tagged by their partner.
  • After the match, Steele fought off Volkoff and the Sheik, and was consoled by Albano.
• Hulk Hogan (w/Mr. T) defeated "Cowboy" Bob Orton (w/Roddy Piper) by disqualification to retain the WWF Championship
  • Orton was disqualified when Piper interfered as Hogan had Orton pinned after the leg drop.
  • After the match, Paul Orndorff made the save for Hogan and Mr. T.
• Wendi Richter (w/Cyndi Lauper) defeated The Fabulous Moolah to retain the WWF Women's Championship
  • Richter pinned Moolah by reversing a slam into a small package.
  • Prior to the match, Moolah had Lauper banned from ringside, but Lauper returned after the match to celebrate with Richter.
• The Junkyard Dog (w/his mother) defeated Pete Dougherty
  • JYD pinned Dougherty with the Running Powerslam.
• Also: Piper's Pit, where host Roddy Piper berated Paul Orndorff] for their loss to Hulk Hogan and Mr. T at WrestleMania. Bob Orton also came ringside to help Piper double-team Orndorff.

Saturday Night's Main Event II

October 5, 1985 (taped October 3, 1985) - East Rutherford, New Jersey - Meadowlands Arena [2]

• Hulk Hogan defeated Nikolai Volkoff (w/Classy Freddie Blassie) in a Flag Match to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan pinned Volkoff with the leg drop after Volkoff hit the turnbuckle.
• Uncle Elmer (w/Hillbilly Jim & Cousin Junior) defeated Jerry Valiant
  • Elmer pinned Valiant in six seconds with a bodyslam as Valiant charged at Elmer.
• Paul Orndorff fought Roddy Piper to a double count-out
  • Both men were counted out when they started brawling to the backstage area.
• André the Giant & Tony Atlas (w/Captain Lou Albano) defeated King Kong Bundy & Big John Studd (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Studd and Bundy were disqualified when they refused to stop double-teaming André.
  • After the match, Hulk Hogan made the save for André.
• The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg Valentine) (w/Johnny Valiant) defeated Lanny Poffo & Tony Garea to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Valentine forced Garea to submit to the figure-4 leg-lock.
• Also:
  • The wedding of Uncle Elmer and his new bride, which is interrupted by Roddy Piper.
  • Vignettes starring Tiny Tim and various WWF superstars are interspersed between matches.

Saturday Night's Main Event III

November 2, 1985 (taped October 31, 1985) - Hershey, Pennsylvania - Hersheypark Arena [3]

• Terry Funk (w/Jimmy Hart) defeated The Junkyard Dog
  • Funk pinned JYD after hitting him with Jimmy Hart's megaphone as JYD attempted to get at Jimmy inside the ring.
  • After the match, JYD avoided being branded by Funk, cleared him from the ring, tore Jimmy Hart's pants off, and branded him.
• Hulk Hogan & André the Giant (w/Captain Lou Albano) defeated King Kong Bundy & Big John Studd (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Studd and Bundy were didqualified when they refused to stop double-teaming André after trapping his arms in the ropes.
• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated WWF Intercontinental Championship Tito Santana by countout
  • Both men were counted out when they began brawling on the floor. Santana retained the championship.
• Ricky Steamboat defeated Mr. Fuji (w/The Magnificent Muraco) in a Kung Fu Challenge
  • Steamboat pinned Fuji with a dropkick off the top rope.
  • After the match, Muraco and Fuji double-teamed Steamboat.
• Also:
  • a Halloween promo starring Roddy Piper, giving viewers a taste of what the holiday is like at his home.
  • Piper's Pit, where Uncle Elmer, Hillbilly Jim, & Cousin Junior called Jesse Ventura to the ring from the broadcast booth to ask him what he said about Elmer and his wife at their wedding.
  • The television debut of the WWF's first music video, which featured the song "Land Of 1,000 Dances" performed WWF superstars.

Saturday Night's Main Event IV

January 4, 1986 (taped December 19, 1985) - Tampa, Florida - USF Sun Dome [4]

• Jesse Ventura, Roddy Piper & "Cowboy" Bob Orton defeated Hillbilly Jim, Uncle Elmer & Cousin Luke
  • Piper forced Luke to submit to the sleeper hold after Orton hit Luke in the head with his arm cast.
  • Bobby Heenan did guest commentary for the match, subbing for Ventura.
• Hulk Hogan (w/The Junkyard Dog) defeated Terry Funk (w/Jimmy Hart) to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan pinned Funk with a clothesline after JYD nailed Jimmy Hart on the floor.
• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated George Steele (w/Captain Lou Albano)
  • Savage pinned Steele with a double axe handle after Steele became distracted by Elizabeth. Steele's newfound infatuation with Elizabeth sparked a feud that lasted nearly 1 1/2 years.
• Nikolai Volkoff (w/Classy Freddie Blassie & The Iron Sheik) defeated Corporal Kirschner in a Flag Match
  • Volkoff pinned Kirschner with a stungun and knee to the chest.
  • After the match, Volkoff spat on Kirschner - resulting in Kirschner clearing the ring of Volkoff and Sheik.
• The Junkyard Dog & Ricky Steamboat defeated Mr. Fuji & The Magnificent Muraco
  • JYD pinned Fuji with a headbutt.
• Also: 1985 WWF highlights, dubbed to "When the Going Gets Tough" by Billy Ocean.

Saturday Night's Main Event V

March 1, 1986 (taped February 15, 1986) - Phoenix, Arizona - Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum [5]

• Mr. T defeated "Cowboy" Bob Orton (w/Roddy Piper) in a Boxing Match
  • Orton was counted out at the 1-minute mark in the 2nd round.
  • After the match, Orton attacked Mr. T (as T was distracted by Piper) from behind and began whipping him with his belt.
• King Kong Bundy (w/Bobby Heenan) defeated Steve Gatorwolf
  • Bundy pinned Gatorwolf with the Avalanche at the 41-second mark.
  • After the match, Bundy stole the microphone from Howard Finkel and said he wanted Hulk Hogan.
• WWF Champion Hulk Hogan defeated The Magnificent Muraco (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Muraco was disqualified when King Kong Bundy ran into the ring and attacked Hogan as he had Muraco pinned after the leg drop. Hogan retained the title.
  • Heenan filled in for Muraco's usual manager, Mr. Fuji.
  • After the match, with Muraco's help, Bundy repeatedly "avalanched" Hogan into unconsciousness, until Pedro Morales and The British Bulldogs made the save.
• The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg Valentine) (w/Johnny Valiant) defeated The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & The Dynamite Kid) (w/Captain Lou Albano) to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Valentine pinned Dynamite after both men were knocked down from a double shoulderblock, with Valentine's leg landing on top of Dynamite for the win.
• The Junkyard Dog defeated Adrian Adonis (w/Jimmy Hart)
  • JYD pinned Adonis after Adonis ran into Jimmy Hart on the apron, who was holding up the megaphone to use on JYD.
  • After the match, Adonis hit JYD with the megaphone.
• Also: The premiere of the "Real American" music video, which by now was Hulk Hogan's entrance theme.

Saturday Night's Main Event VI

May 3, 1986 (taped May 1, 1986) - Providence, Rhode Island - Providence Civic Center [6]

• Hulk Hogan & The Junkyard Dog (w/The Haiti Kid) defeated Terry Funk & Hoss Funk (w/Jimmy Hart)
  • Hogan pinned Terry with a clothesline and the leg drop.
  • Mid-way through the match, Jimmy Hart nailed the Haiti Kid in the head with the branding iron, causing JYD to take him backstage for treatment before Haiti returned ringside.
  • Jimmy Jack Funk made his TV debut after the match.
• King Kong Bundy defeated Uncle Elmer
  • Bundy pinned Elmer with an elbow drop after Elmer missed a splash in the corner.
• Adrian Adonis (w/Jimmy Hart) defeated Paul Orndorff by disqualification
  • Ornorff was disqualified when he began choking Adonis with his own shirt before shoving the referee across the ring.
• Jake Roberts fought Ricky Steamboat to a no-contest
  • The match wemt to a no-contest after Roberts clotheslined Steamboat out of the ring, gave him the DDT on the concrete floor, and placed his snake Damien over his foe's unconscious body.
  • Steamboat's wife was in attendance for the event.
• The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & The Dynamite Kid) (w/Captain Lou Albano) defeated Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik (w/Classy Freddie Blassie) in a Two out of Three falls match to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Sheik forced Smith to sumbit to the Camel Clutch.
  • Smith pinned Volkoff with a roll up after sending him into Sheik on the apron after Volkoff thought he had scored the pinfall.
  • Smith, the illegal man, pinned Sheik with an inside cradle after breaking his Camel Clutch on Dynamite behind the referee's back.

Saturday Night's Main Event VII

October 4, 1986 (taped September 13, 1986) - Richfield, Ohio - Coliseum at Richfield [7]

• WWF Champion Hulk Hogan defeated Paul Orndorff (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Orndorff was disqualified when Adrian Adonis interfered. Hogan retained the title.
  • After the match, Roddy Piper made the save by hitting Adonis with his crutch.
• Ricky Steamboat defeated Jake Roberts in a Snake Pit Match
  • Steamboat pinned Roberts with a crucifix.
  • After the match, Roberts continued to attack Steamboat and was about to place his snake Damien on him, but Steamboat took his komodo dragon out of his bag and scared Roberts from the ring.
• Roddy Piper defeated The Iron Sheik (w/Slick)
  • Piper pinned the Sheik with a small package and grabbing the tights for leverage after blocking a suplex attempt at the 43-second mark.
  • Sheik had been re-scheduled to face Pedro Morales in the wake of Piper's (kayfabe) leg injury supposedly scratching him from the match, but Piper ordered Morales out of the ring, then proceeded to squash the Sheik.
• The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & The Dynamite Kid) (w/Captain Lou Albano) defeated The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg Valentine) (w/Johnny Valiant) in a Two out of Three falls match to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Valentine forced Dynamite to submit to the figure-4 leg-lock.
  • Dynamite pinned Valentine with a diving headbutt off of Beefcake, who was caught in a fireman's carry by Smith.
  • Smith pinned Beefcake with a cradle suplex.
• Kamala the Ugandan Giant (w/The Grand Wizard & Kim Chee) defeated Lanny Poffo
  • Kamala pinned Poffo with a splash.
  • After the match, Kamala attempted to hit a splash off the top rope but was stopped by his handlers.

Saturday Night's Main Event VIII

November 29, 1986 (taped November 15, 1986) - Los Angeles, California - Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena [8]

• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) fought IC Champion Jake Roberts to a double disqualification
  • Both men were disqualified when they shoved referee Dave Hebner. Roberts retained the title.
  • After the match, as Savage was fighting with the referee over a steel chair, Roberts came up behind him and put his snake Damien on his back, resulting in Savage immediately leaving ringside.
• Hulk Hogan defeated Hercules Hernandez (w/Bobby Heenan) to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan pinned Hercules with a boot to the face and the leg drop
• Roddy Piper defeated "Cowboy" Bob Orton (w/Jimmy Hart)
  • Piper pinned Orton with a roll up after a miscommunication with Jimmy Hart and Orton on the ring apron.
  • The Magnificent Muraco was in Orton's corner but was sent backstage by security during the match.
  • Prior to the match, there was a video montage of how close Orton and Piper once were.
• The Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair) defeated The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) (w/Jimmy Hart)
  • Brunzell pinned Hart with a small package after the Bees used their masks to switch places in the ring.
• Koko B. Ware defeated Nikolai Volkoff (w/Slick).
  • Ware pinned Volkoff with a roll up as Volkoff was talking with Slick.
• The Magnificent Muraco (w/Mr. Fuji) defeated Dick Slater.
  • Muraco pinned Slater with a clothesline after Fuji tripped Slater from the floor.

Saturday Night's Main Event IX

January 3, 1987 (taped December 14, 1986) - Hartford, Connecticut - Hartford Civic Center [9]

• Hulk Hogan defeated Paul Orndorff (w/Bobby Heenan) in a Steel cage match to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan escaped the cage after hitting the leg drop on Orndorff and sending Heenan into the cage.
  • The match was originally declared "a tie" when both men climbed out opposite sides of the cage and were ruled to have landed on the floor at the same time. Video replays were consulted and it was (kayfabe) declared inconclusive (although Orndorff's feet clearly hit first). The match was restarted, and Hogan went on to easily defeat Orndorff.
• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated George Steele (w/Ricky Steamboat) to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship
  • Savage pinned Steele after hitting him with the timekeeper's bell.
  • Early in the match, Steamboat came ringside unexpectedly as a surprise of Steele's, having not been seen since suffering a (kayfabe) crushed larynx at the hands of Savage.
  • Also, Steele carried Elizabeth backstage and Steamboat was then escorted from ringside by referees and security, with Steele returning to the ring shortly thereafter.
  • After the match, Steamboat returned to the ring to make the save as Savage prepared to come off the top with the ring bell onto Steele's throat, just as he had done to Steamboat.
• The Junkyard Dog defeated King Harley Race (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Race was disqualified when Heenan interfered and attacked JYD, who put on Race's crown and robe.
  • After the match, JYD fought off a double-team attack from Race and Heenan, knocking Heenan to the floor, and accidentally headbutting referee Danny Davis when Race moved out of the way.
• Adrian Adonis (w/Jimmy Hart) defeated Roddy Piper by count-out
  • Piper was counted out after Adonis sprayed perfume into Piper's eyes.
• Blackjack Mulligan defeated Jimmy Jack Funk
  • Mulligan pinned Funk with a flying back elbow.

Saturday Night's Main Event X

March 14, 1987 (taped February 21 1987) - Detroit, Michigan - Joe Louis Arena [10]

• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated George Steele by count-out to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship
  • Stelle was counted out after Savage hit Steele with a wooden chair on the floor.
  • Had Steele won the match, he would have received the managerial services of Elizabeth.
  • During the match, Ricky Steamboat came ringside and attacked Savage before being sent backstage by security.
• Hercules Hernandez won a battle royal
  • Other participants included: André the Giant, Outlaw Ron Bass, Demolition (Ax & Smash), Billy Jack Haynes, Hercules, Hillbilly Jim, The Honky Tonk Man, Hulk Hogan, The Islanders (Haku & Tama), The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell), Blackjack Mulligan, Paul Orndorff, Lanny Poffo, Butch Reed, Sika, Nikolai Volkoff, and Koko B. Ware.
  • During the match, André easily eliminated Hogan, while eight men teamed to force André out of the ring.
• King Kong Bundy (w/Bobby Heenan) defeated Jake Roberts by disqualification
  • Roberts was disqualified when he hit the referee while trying to unleash his snake Damien on Bundy
  • After the match, Heenan - who had been chased from ringside earlier - returned to help Bundy out of the ring after receiving the DDT.
• The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) (w/Jimmy Hart & Danny Davis) defeated Tito Santana & Dan Spivey to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Hart pinned Santana after Davis interfered and hit Santana with Jimmy Hart's megaphone as Hart was caught in the figure-4
• Ricky Steamboat defeated The Iron Sheik (w/Slick)
  • Steamboat pinned the Sheik with a bodyslam and karate chop off the top rope.
  • Prior to the match, Randy Savage came ringside and confronted Steamboat before he was forced from ringside and joined the commentary team.
  • After the match, Savage challenged Steamboat to come out to the commentary table. Steamboat tried to get at Savage but was held back by referees.
• Also: Because Roddy Piper was planning on retiring from wrestling and moving into Hollywood after WrestleMania III, a video montage of his greatest moments from 1984-1987 was played to the song My Way by Frank Sinatra.

Saturday Night's Main Event XI

May 2, 1987 (taped April 28 1987) - South Bend, Indiana - Edmund P. Joyce Center [11]

• Kamala the Ugandan Giant (w/Kim Chee) defeated Jake Roberts
  • Kamala pinned Roberts with a splash after Kim Chee interfered behind the referee's back and hit a clothesline to the back of Roberts.
  • Following the match, Kamala's "handler," Kim Chee revealed himself to be The Honky Tonk Man under a mask, who then orders a beating of Roberts.
• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated George Steele in a Lumberjack Match
  • Savage pinned Steele the flying elbowsmash after Danny Davis interfered and hit Steele with the ring bell.
• The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & The Dynamite Kid) defeated The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) (w/Jimmy Hart) in a Two out of Three falls match
  • The Harts were disqualified for illegal double-teaming.
  • Dynamite pinned Neidhart after Smith pressed his partner onto him; because of the disqualification result, the WWF Tag Team Championship remained with the Harts.
• Ricky Steamboat defeated Hercules (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Hercules was disqualified when he choked Steamboat with his steel chain.
  • After the match, Randy Savage came ringside to check on Steamboat, just to hit the flying elbowsmash on him.
• The Can-Am Connection (Rick Martel & Tom Zenk) (w/Jim Duggan) defeated Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik (w/Slick)
  • Martel pinned the Sheik with a roll up as Duggan brawled with Volkoff at ringside.

Saturday Night's Main Event XII

October 3, 1987 (taped September 23, 1987) - Hershey, Pennsylvania - Hersheypark Arena [12]

• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated IC Champion The Honky Tonk Man (w/Jimmy Hart) by disqualification
  • Honky Tonk was disqualfied when The Hart Foundation ran in to save Honky Tonk from a pinfall loss. Honky Tonk retained the title.
  • In the ensuing chaos, Honky Tonk shoved Elizabeth to the mat (while she attempted to stop Honky Tonk from smashing his guitar over the downed Savage's head). As Honky Tonk and the Harts continued to beat Savage, Elizabeth - who had apparently fled the ring in humiliation - returned with Hulk Hogan, who ran in to drive the heels out of the ring. This formed the often-uneasy Hogan-Savage alliance known as "The Mega Powers," and also completed Savage's turn from a heel to a face.
• Hulk Hogan defeated Sika (w/Mr. Fuji and Kim Chee) to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan pinned Sika with a bodyslam and the leg drop.
  • Kamala the Ugandan Giant was originally scheduled as Hogan's opponent.
• King Kong Bundy (w/André the Giant) defeated Paul Orndorff (w/Oliver Humperdink)
  • Bundy pinned Orndorff with the Avalanche after André grabbed Orndorff's tights and pulled him into the corner.
• The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) defeated The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers) to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Hart pinned Roma after a Hart Attack.
• Also: The "world premiere" of Koko B. Ware's music video, "Piledriver" (the title track from the WWF's second album of entrance themes).

Saturday Night's Main Event XIII

November 28, 1987 (taped November 11, 1987) - Seattle, Washington - Seattle Center Coliseum [13]

• George Steele defeated Danny Davis by disqualification
  • Davis was disqualified when Davis kicked the referee while caught in the flying hammerlock.
  • After the match, Steele threw the turnbuckle padding into Davis' face before chasing him backstage.
• Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated WWF Champion Bret Hart (w/Jimmy Hart & Jim Neidhart)
  • Savage pinned Hart by reversing a bodyslam into the ring into an inside cradle.
  • After the match, Savage knocked Neidhart out of the ring and chased Jimmy Hart backstage after Hart was accidentally hit with the megaphone.
• King Kong Bundy (w/Bobby Heenan) defeated Hulk Hogan by count-out **Hogan was counted out when Heenan caused Hogan to fall out of the ring.
  • Early in the match, André the Giant was sent backstage after tripping Hogan.
  • After the match, Hogan grabbed Heenan and began throttling him by the neck.
• Bam Bam Bigelow (w/Oliver Humperdink) defeated Hercules
  • Bigelow pinned Hercules with a slingshot splash into the ring.
  • The match originally ended in a double countout, but Bigelow challenged Hercules to continue the match.

Saturday Night's Main Event XIV

January 2, 1988 (taped December 7, 1987) - Landover, Maryland - Capital Centre [14]

• Strike Force (Tito Santana & Rick Martel) defeated The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zuhkov) (w/Slick) in a Two out of Three falls match to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Martel forced Zuhkov to submit to the Boston crab.
  • Santana pinned Zhukov after a miscommunication from Volkoff and Zuhkov.
• Jake Roberts defeated Sika (w/Mr. Fuji)
  • Roberts pinned Sika with a roll up after Sika hit the corner.
  • After the match, Roberts hit the DDT on Fuji.
• Hulk Hogan defeated King Kong Bundy (w/André the Giant) to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan pinned Bundy with the leg drop.
  • During the course of the match, referee Jack Kruger was caught in an avalanche splash by Bundy and was legitimately injured, having to been wheeled away on a stretcher. Dave Hebner took over as the official.
  • Following the match, André grabbed Hogan from behind and began to choke him into unconsciousness, which stopped only after several WWF superstars ran in to pull André off of Hogan, setting up their title match on The Main Event a month later.
• Greg Valentine (w/Jimmy Hart) defeated Koko B. Ware
  • Valentine forced Ware to submit to the figure-four leglock.
  • Brutus Beefcake came ringside to distract Valentine but was soon sent backstage by the referee.

Saturday Night's Main Event XV

March 12, 1988 (taped March 7, 1988) - Nashville, Tennessee - Nashville Municipal Auditorium [15]

• Brutus Beefcake defeated Greg Valentine (w/Jimmy Hart)
  • Beefcake pinned Valentine by lifting his shoulder out of a back suplex.
  • During the match, The Honky Tonk Man came ringside to distract Beefcake.
• Hulk Hogan defeated King Harley Race (w/Bobby Heenan)
  • Hogan pinned Race with the leg drop.
  • Late in the match, Race laid Hogan across a table outside the ring and attempted to hit a diving headbutt from the ring apron, but Hogan moved out of the way and Race crashed through the table, suffering an injury that would eventually force him into retirement.
• Ted DiBiase (w/Virgil & André the Giant) defeated Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) by countout
  • Savage was counted out when André hit a headbutt on Savage while Dibiase distracted the referee.
  • Late in the match, Elizabeth left ringside.
  • After the match, Dibiase and Virgil double-teamed Savage in the ring until Elizabeth returned ringside with Hulk Hogan, who then cleared the ring with a steel chair.
• The Islanders (Haku & Tama) (w/Bobby Heenan) defeated The Killer Bees (Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair) in a Two out of Three falls match
  • Tama pinned Blair following a superkick from Haku.
  • Brunzell pinned Tama.
  • Haku pinned Blair.
  • Only the first fall was televised.
• One Man Gang (w/Slick) defeated Ken Patera

  • After the match, Roberts retrieved his snake Damien from his bag and showed it to André, who became frightened and, upon Roberts throwing the snake on André, collapsed in the middle of the ring from a (kayfabe) mild heart attack.
• Demolition (Ax & Smash) (w/Mr. Fuji & Jimmy Hart) defeated The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Smash pinned Neidhart by hitting him with Jimmy Hart's megaphone when Neidhart grabbed for Raymond Rougeau on the ring apron moments after The Fabulous Rougeaus came ringside.
• Hulk Hogan (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated King Haku (w/Bobby Heenan)
  • Hogan pinned Haku with the leg drop.
  • Heenan was helped backstage during the match after Hogan had pulled him in front of him when Haku was jumping from the apron.

  • Warrior pinned Super Ninja with the gorilla press slam & splash combo.
  • In a pre-taped interview, Mr. Fuji announced Super Ninja as an unbeatable martial arts master who would destroy the Warrior; however, this ended up being little more than a squash match.
• Hercules defeated Virgil (w/Ted DiBiase)
  • Hercules pinned Virgil with a powerslam.
• WWF Champion Randy Savage (w/Miss Elizabeth) fought André the Giant (w/Bobby Heenan) to a double disqualification
  • The match ended when Jake Roberts came ringside and scared Heenan into the ring. Savage retained the title.
  • At around the 5-minute mark, Roberts came ringside with his snake Damien, and put the bag underneath the ring before being told to go backstage by the referee; once Heenan eventually found the bag, André instructed him to take it to the back, which is what Heenan was attempting to do until Roberts returned.
  • After the match, Savage tossed Heenan into André, causing him to fall backwards and have his arms entangled in the ropes; moments later, Savage threw Heenan to the floor, and Jake entered the ring with Damien; André was able to free himself from the ropes and run away before Roberts had a chance to assault him with Damien.
• Jim Duggan defeated Boris Zuhkov in a Flag Match
  • Duggan pinned Zuhkov with the running clothesline.
• The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques Rougeau & Raymond Rougeau) (w/Jimmy Hart) defeated The Young Stallions (Paul Roma & Jim Powers)
  • Jacques pinned Roma with a sit-down splash off the top rope.
• Also: The Brother Love Show, with special guest Hulk Hogan, to discuss his current feud with The Big Boss Man. Hogan, fed up with Love's verbal abuse, handcuffed the wannabe-preacher to the top rope and clotheslined him out of the ring.

• Brutus Beefcake defeated Ron Bass in a Hair vs. Hair match
  • Beefcake forced Bass to sumbit to the sleeper hold after avoiding a clothesline.
• Hulk Hogan (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated Akeem (w/Slick) by disqualification
  • Akeem was disqualified when The Big Boss Man came ringside and tripped Hogan.
  • During the match, Elizabeth went backstage to try to have Randy Savage come out and help Hogan as he was being double-teamed, but Savage said Hogan was okay and didn't need his help.
  • After the match as Hogan was double-teamed, Elizabeth stepped into the ring and tried to intervene but got handcuffed by the Boss Man, then Savage made the save and cleared the ring with a steel chair.
• The Ultimate Warrior defeated The Honky Tonk Man (w/Jimmy Hart) to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship
  • Warrior pinned Honky with a flying shoulderblock.
• Tito Santana defeated The Red Rooster (w/Bobby Heenan)
  • Santana pinned the Rooster with a roll up as the Rooster was busy arguing with Heenan.
  • After the match, Heenan (who was wearing a microphone so viewers could hear him "coach" the Rooster) began to yell at and berate the Rooster, causing the Rooster to turn against Heenan and become a face.
• Mr. Perfect defeated Koko B. Ware
  • Perfect pinned Ware with the Perfectplex.

Saturday Night's Main Event XX

March 11, 1989 (taped February 16, 1989) - Hershey, Pennsylvania - Hersheypark Arena [20]

• Brutus Beefcake defeated Rick Rude (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Rude was disqualified when André the Giant interfered and attacked Beefcake on the floor.
  • After the match, Rude and André continued to double-team Beefcake until Jake Roberts came out to make the save for Beefcake; moments later, Beefcake attempted to make the save for Roberts, who was double-teamed by André and Rude inside the ring but, after clearing Rude from the ring, Beefcake was beaten down by André.
  • Big John Studd also came ringside and had a staredown with André from the floor until Roberts threw his snake Damien into the ring to scare André from ringside.
• Hulk Hogan (w/Miss Elizabeth) defeated Bad News Brown
  • Hogan pinned Brown with the leg drop.
• Ted DiBiase (w/Virgil) defeated The Blue Blazer
  • DiBiase pinned the Blazer with a powerslam as the Blazer attempted a crossbody.
  • This marked the TV debut of the Million Dollar Belt.
• The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) (w/Bobby Heenan) fought The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) to a double countout
  • Mid-way through the match, Heenan was sent backstage after interfering twice.
  • After the match, the Rockers eventually cleared the ring of their opposition.
• The Red Rooster defeated The Brooklyn Brawler (w/Bobby Heenan)
  • Rooster pinned Brawler with an inside cradle as the Brawler lowered his head for a backdrop.
  • After the match, Brawler and Heenan attacked the Rooster before he eventually cleared the ring of both of them.

May 27, 1989 (taped April 25, 1989) - Des Moines, Iowa - Veterans Memorial Auditorium [21]

• King Jim Duggan defeated IC Champion Rick Rude (w/Bobby Heenan) by count-out
  • Rude was counted out when the running clothesline from Duggan knocked Rude to the floor and he could not break the count back inside. Rude retained the title.
  • Haku briefly appeared ringside at around the 3:40 mark but was sent backstage by referees.
• Randy Savage (w/Sensational Sherri) defeated Jim Neidhart
  • Savage pinned Neidhart with the flying elbowsmash after hitting a double axe handle from the top rope to the floor.
• Hulk Hogan defeated The Big Boss Man (w/Slick) in a Steel cage match to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan stole Boss Man's handcuffs from an interfering Slick and handcuffed Boss Man to the top rope before escaping the cage.
  • Prior to the match, Slick introduced Zeus, who then came ringside and awaited Hogan's entrance; moments later, as Hogan approached the cage, he was beaten down by Zeus.
  • After the match, Hogan rammed Boss Man into the cage on the floor and did the same to Slick inside the ring before Bossman pulled his manager to safety; Hogan then posed in the ring while wearing Slick's hat.
• The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) (w/Bobby Heenan) defeated WWF Tag Team Championship Demolition (Ax & Smash) by disqualification
  • Demolition was disqualified when a frustrated Ax entered the ring, a brawl ensued, and Ax shoved referee Joey Marella to the mat. Demolition retained the titles.
  • After the match, both teams battled their way backstage.
• Jimmy Snuka defeated Boris Zuhkov
  • Snuka pinned Zuhkov with a backbreaker and the top rope splash.

• King Randy Savage (w/Queen Sherri) defeated Jimmy Snuka
  • Savage pinned Snuka with a roll up after hitting him in the kidney with Sherri's loaded purse while Sherri distracted the referee.
  • After the match, Snuka avoided Savage's flying elbowsmash and attempted the splash off the top rope before Sherri covered Savage to protect him; moments later, Snuka cleared the ring of both Savage and Sherri.
• Hulk Hogan defeated Ted DiBiase (w/Zeus) to retain the WWF Championship
  • Hogan pinned DiBiase with a small package after Dibiase accidentally hit Zeus.
  • Earlier in the match, Jake Roberts came ringside to even the odds but chased an interfering Virgil backstage after Virgil stole the snake bag.
  • After the match, Roberts made the save with his snake Damien, as Hogan was being double-teamed.
• Roddy Piper defeated Haku (w/Bobby Heenan)
  • Piper pinned Haku with a belly to belly suplex.

  • Hogan was counted out after Mr. Perfect came ringside and hit Hogan with the championship title belt outside the ring. Hogan retained the title.
  • After the match, Perfect stole the championship belt.
• Dusty Rhodes defeated The Big Boss Man (w/Slick)
  • Rhodes pinned Boss Man with a roll up after the Boss Man became distracted by Slick arguing with Sapphire as she sat ringside.
  • After the match, Dusty invited Sapphire into the ring to dance with him.
• Mr. Perfect (w/The Genius) defeated The Red Rooster
  • Perfect pinned the Rooster with the Perfectplex.
  • At the end of the telecast, Perfect destroyed Hulk Hogan's WWF title belt with a hammer.
• The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) defeated The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) (w/Bobby Heenan) in a Two out of Three falls match
  • Jannetty pinned Blanchard with a roll up after Anderson attempted to hold on to Blanchard from the outside but it was broken up by the referee (after the pinfall, an irate Heenan shoved Blanchard and left ringside).
  • Blanchard pinned Michaels after Anderson dropped him on the top rope from the outside.
  • Michaels pinned Anderson with a flying crossbody; prior to the pinfall, Heenan fired his team during a backstage interview with Jesse Ventura.

Saturday Night's Main Event XXV

January 27 1990 (taped January 3 1990) - Chattanooga, Tennessee - McKenzie Arena [25]

• King Randy Savage (w/Queen Sherri) defeated Jim Duggan
  • Savage pinned Duggan when Sherri grabbed Duggan's leg during a suplex into the ring, with Savage falling on top for the win, and held the foot during the cover.
  • After the match, Duggan brought Savage back into the ring just to send him back out with a 2x4 blow to the back.
• Hulk Hogan & The Ultimate Warrior defeated Mr. Perfect & The Genius
  • Hogan pinned the Genius with the leg drop after the Genius sustained the Warrior's gorilla press slam.
  • After the match, Warrior accidentally clotheslined Hogan after Hogan grabbed him from behind as Warrior was fighting off Perfect and the Genius; moments later, Hogan and Warrior had a face-to-face confrontation and shoving match as a result of the miscommunication.
• Jake Roberts defeated Greg Valentine (w/Jimmy Hart) by disqualification
  • Valentine was disqualified when Ted DiBiase and Virgil interfered and prevented the pinfall after Roberts hit the DDT.
  • After the match, Roberts cleared the ring with his snake Damien.
• Dusty Rhodes (w/Sapphire) fought Rick Rude (w/Bobby Heenan) to a double count-out.
  • Initially both managers were sent backstage after getting into an argument but Sapphire returned ringside after purchasing a ticket.
• Dino Bravo (w/Jimmy Hart & Earthquake) defeated Ronnie Garvin
  • Bravo pinned Garvin when the momentum of a crossbody off the top rope by Garvin put Bravo on top for the win.
  • After the match, Earthquake attacked Garvin, who was later stretchered out of the ring.

April 28, 1990 (taped April 23, 1990) - Austin, Texas - Frank Erwin Center [26]

  • Both teams were disqualified when Demolition, who came ringside mid-way through the match, interfered and all six men began brawling until they were pulled apart by officials.
• The Ultimate Warrior defeated Haku (w/Bobby Heenan) to retain the WWF Championship
• The Big Boss Man defeated Akeem the African Dream via disqualification when Ted DiBiase and Virgil interfered.
  • After the match, DiBiase cuffed the Boss Man to the ropes, but Boss Man had a key and fought back.

• WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior defeated Rick Rude (w/Bobby Heenan) by disqualification
  • Rude was disqualfied when Heenan interfered by breaking the pinfall after the Warrior hit the flying shoulderblock & splash combo.
  • After the match, Warrior cornered Heenan in the ring, repeatedly punched him, and eventually threw him to the floor; later in the telecast, it was announced that Warrior and Rude would have another rematch for the WWF title at SummerSlam, only in a Steel Cage Match.
• Demolition (Smash & Crush) (w/Ax) defeated The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty) to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship
  • Ax interfered behind referee Joey Marella's back, hit a clothesline on Michaels as he had Smash rolled up, and scored the pin.
  • After the match, The Hart Foundation and The Legion of Doom came ringside to dispute the decision.
• Mr. Perfect defeated Tito Santana to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship
  • Perfect pinned Santana by reversing an inside cradle.
  • Santana had Perfect down and out 3 times with no referee. A second referee appeared, but Santana never gained back the advantage.
• The Texas Tornado defeated Buddy Rose
  • Tornardo pinned Rose with the Tornado Punch.

  • Both men were counted out when they began brawling on the floor moments after Roddy Piper left the broadcast booth to chase Sherri backstage.
• The Mountie (w/Jimmy Hart) defeated Tito Santana
  • Mountie pinned Santana with a handful of tights.
• Mr. Perfect won a battle royal

  • The match revolved around Roberts' beef with Earthquake for squashing Roberts' snake Damien on the most recent episode of Superstars.
  • Earthquake eliminated Roberts, who unleashed his other snake Lucifer into the ring, which scared everybody.

Saturday Night's Main Event XXX

February 8 1992 (taped January 27 1992) - Lubbock, Texas - Lubbock Municipal Coliseum [30]

• Roddy Piper defeated The Mountie (w/Jimmy Hart) to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship
  • Piper pinned the Mountie by using his own shock stick on him after the Mountie's attempt to use it failed since Piper was wearing a rubber vest underneath his t-shirt.
  • Prematch stipulations stated Bret Hart would face the winner at WrestleMania VIII.
• Hulk Hogan & Sid Justice (w/Brutus Beefcake) defeated Ric Flair & The Undertaker (w/Mr. Perfect & Paul Bearer) by disqualification
  • Flair & the Undertaker were disqualified when Flair shoved the referee as Hogan was being ilegally double-teamed.
  • Late in the match, Justice turned heel by abandoning Hogan in the ring.
  • After the match, Beefcake came into the ring and distracted Flair and the Undertaker long enough for Hogan to clear the ring.
• Sgt. Slaughter & Jim Duggan defeated The Beverly Brothers (Blake & Beau Beverly) (w/The Genius)
  • Duggan pinned Blake with the running clothesline after Slaughter hit Blake with the Genius' scroll.
• Randy Savage defeated Jake Roberts
  • Savage pinned Roberts with the flying elbowsmash.
  • After the match, Savage hit a second elbow drop and prepared for a third before officials took Roberts backstage.
  • The telecast ended with Miss Elizabeth coming to the ring and celebrating with Savage. However several weeks later during Superstars, it was revealed that Roberts prepared to hit Elizabeth with a steel chair as soon as she stepped backstage, only for the Undertaker to prevent the attack and hit Roberts with the chair.

Taped October 27 1992, shown November 14 1992 - Terre Haute, Indiana

• The Ultimate Maniacs (The Ultimate Warrior & Randy Savage) defeated Money Inc. (Ted DiBiase & Irwin R. Schyster) (w/Jimmy Hart) via countout when DiBiase and I.R.S. walked out of the match.
  • The WWF Tag Team Championship did not change hands.
  • After the match, the Warrior and Savage caught up to DiBiase and I.R.S. in the aisle and assaulted them until Savage and the Warrior were attacked from behind by Ric Flair, Razor Ramon, and Mr. Perfect.
• Shawn Michaels defeated Davey Boy Smith to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
  • Michaels pinned Smith when Smith failed a superplex, with Michaels landing on top for the pin.
  • Mid-way through the match, Michaels loosened the top turnbuckle padding and later Irish whipped Smith back-first into it, which would lead to Smith's back giving out when he tried to superplex Michaels.
• Bret Hart defeated Papa Shango via submission to retain the WWF Championship.
  • Hart forced Shango to submit to the Sharpshooter.
  • After the match, Shawn Michaels interrupted Hart's backstage interview conducted by "Mean" Gene Okerlund and said that he would have both championships after Survivor Series.
• Also: The Funeral Parlor, where The Undertaker discussed his plans to defeat Kamala the Ugandan Giant at Survivor Series.

  • Cena pinned Orton with a rollup.
• Steve Austin defeated John "Bradshaw" Layfield by disqualification in a Beer Drinking Contest
  • Layfield was caught pouring the beer out instead of drinking it.
  • When Layfield tried to escape, Chris Benoit threw him back into the ring where Austin delivered a Stunner.
• Mickie James & Trish Stratus defeated Candice Michelle & Victoria
  • Stratus pinned Victoria after a Stratusfaction.

  • Michaels never actually submitted. Instead, Vince McMahon ordered to ring the bell in an ending very reminiscent to the 1997 Montreal screwjob.

  • The Cutting Edge, where Edge and Lita insult Mick Foley in anticipation of their WrestleMania 22 match. A brawl would break out between them, ending with Foley delivering a Con-chair-to to Edge.
  • The Undertaker confronted Mark Henry, where the Undertaker booted Henry over the guard rail and chokeslammed Henry's manager, Daivari on a casket, and then delivered a Tombstone Piledriver to Daivari on the same casket.
