Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Welcome!

Hello, Veneta1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Questions page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  Drmies (talk) 00:37, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Dua Lipa. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 02:29, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, I am correcting information regarding her descent. Her grandmother is a Bosnian citizen of Albanian descent, not Bosnian. She identifies as 100 % Albanian. I am also posting actual details regarding her life with links and you keep deleting them. Quite unprofessional. Veneta1 (talk) 16:51, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
One thing that affects this conversation is that Dua Lipa's biography was far too large, as you can see by the discussion at Talk:Dua Lipa. Which makes it difficult to accommodate more detail added to her heritage, such as the names of her grandfathers.[1]
The biography already says her parents are Kosovar Albanians, which is enough. Binksternet (talk) 18:11, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jaellee. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Alpay Özalan, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Jaellee (talk) 05:50, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

edit warring

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Anxhela Peristeri. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Resnjari (talk) 11:49, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Anxhela Peristeri shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.Resnjari (talk) 13:42, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Representative

Mirëdita, are you an official representative of Anxhela Peristeri?--Maleschreiber (talk) 16:15, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have been adding information and actual news on Anxhela that have been constantly reverted. I find this highly unprofessional, what is wikipedia for then? Veneta1 (talk) 16:39, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it wasn't clear to many editors that you are an official representative of Anxhela Peristeri. I realized it because you mentioned it in one summary. I've pinged you at the talkpage.--Maleschreiber (talk) 17:08, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by inserting commentary or your personal analysis into an article, as you did at Dua Lipa. Binksternet (talk) 06:02, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Truth speaking is not personal analysis. Veneta1 (talk) 19:36, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I know Dua's entire family, including her grandmother. Bosnian citizen does not equal Bosnian ethnicity. Veneta1 (talk) 19:44, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm LOVI33. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Dua Lipa seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. At least one of your edits on the page Can Yaman, while it may have been in good faith, was difficult to distinguish from vandalism. To help other editors understand the reason for the changes, you can use an edit summary for your contributions. You can also take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. The sources contain no information about his mother's ancestry specifically [2][3] Bogazicili (talk) 00:30, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, the latest news article upon his visit to Serbia "both parents born into immigrant Albanian families in Turkey." https://nova.rs/zabava/showbiz/turski-glumac-poreklom-s-kosova-za-kojim-zene-seku-vene-stigao-u-beograd/ Veneta1 (talk) 05:57, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I ran this article through google translate and I don't see that claim. Can you copy paste the sentences with that claim in original language? Bogazicili (talk) 10:40, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Im sorry, I seem to have posted the wrong link:

"Atraktivni glumac rođen je 8. novembra 1989. godine u Istanbulu, a interesantno je da je poreklom s juga Srbije, odnosno s Kosova i Metohije. Naime, njegovi roditelji rođeni su u Turskoj, ali oboje su deca imigranata."

Leaving out the Kosovo dispute, it says both his parents, even though born in Istanbul, are children of immigrants, respectively from Kosovo. Veneta1 (talk) 10:47, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[1] Veneta1 (talk) 10:48, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Then this is probably wrong, there's an interview link in the article: [4]. Can Yaman himself says that only his father's side is Albanian, and that he grew up with his mother speaking Turkish only. Bogazicili (talk) 11:30, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That is not definite, due to the assimilation policy in Turkey; many families of immigrant backgrounds are not fluent in their own language. There are numerous articles regarding this, also in his case, where also his mother is mentioned as of an immigrant background. One of his grandmothers was an Albanian from North Macedonia and yet he mentioned they conversed in Albanian, his grandparents per say. So you cannot say it is "probably" wrong based on a personal assumption. He is refered to as the actor with origin from Kosovo and he has never contested this. Veneta1 (talk) 11:34, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You are also quoting the interview by Linda Imami, an Albanian expat in Istanbul. Veneta1 (talk) 11:38, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Again, he is specifically asked and he answers only his father's side is Albanian. Doesn't mention her mother has migration background. The link you provided, Glossy, seems like a random website and a low quality source. You can ask this in Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard and Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard if you would like to. Bogazicili (talk) 11:53, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Yamaguchi先生. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Soni Malaj, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Can Yaman, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Albanian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
