Friday, 17/3/2017. Today you wrote on my Talk page that you had removed the template from the top of my new mainpage article William Nevin Tatlow Hurst. But I can still see the template. Sorry, but I don't understand the situation. Do I need to do something else? Thanks - I know you're busy. SurveyorMJF (talk) 05:47, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reviewing my article on Russian child model Kristina Pimenova! Unfortunately, you rejected my submission because you said I did not adequately prove notability. I disagree for several reasons. She is a prominent model and actress who has starred in a full length feature film with a famous costar. She has also posed for many high profile fashion companies. She has 4 million Facebook followers and 1.8 million Instagram followers. Many people believe she is a supermodel, and likely to become even more famous soon. I addressed these points in the article, and included several reputable sources to verify this information. Also, she is already the subject of many other Wikipedia articles in other languages, including Russian and Spanish. I was surprised to find that she has not been the subject of an English language article as well. My article included a similar amount of detail as the Spanish article. I am happy to expand my article further if you believe it will be accepted in the future. Thank you! Andrew Rothschild has invented the genre bluestronica. There is no published music that falls in this genre of bluestronica. Andrew Rothschild's music does not fit the blues, or electronica genre. Hence he has created a new genre. No artist has claimed their music to be apart of this genre. He has elements of both in his music. The sources are legitimate. This is not a scientific matter, he is an artist and his artwork has received notable attention.

I was researching this company for work and was surprised that they didn't have an article in wikipedia. I wanted to know who they were and what their basic business model was. I had to go to an external source to find this. I thought it would be useful to have this info in wikipedia. I don't work for them, I don't have a vested interest in their success or failure, I just found it annoying that this info wasn't available here, and wanted to fix that.

Thank you for your review of my draft. I have been through way too many drafts, re-writes, and deletions for this page. It has been shortened, condensed, and as many sources as are available have been cited. I have read all of the articles that have been linked. There are no other sources available on the internet, as it is a small company. There are no opinions reflected in the draft, only basic facts. I don't see how this can be changed any more. This latest draft is even a re-write from one of your moderators. Please advise.

Appreciate the comment regarding notability, however surely an amateur gym which produces a national finalist every five years; has a host of professional boxers at its platform and trained a world heavyweight contender is defined with some element of notability? References, both past and present, throughout the history of this establishment highlight its significance?

I'd very much appreciate your feedback as to how I can make this article more robust.

Hello SwisterTwister, I understand your point of view and the publishing rules on Wikipedia. Really, I do! The reason I decided to send the article in Wikipedia (even it doesn't respect the rules) is because Ezi Car Rental is become the first 100% Kiwi own rental company in New Zealand. New Zealand is a small country. References are not like in Europe (where I come from) or another big country in the World. With the current rules of publication only the big companies can be on Wikipedia. Is it really the most relevant point of view for an online encyclopedia? I could be wrong but I don't think so. It is not an argumentation for publishing the article about Ezi Car Rental. Your decision respect the rules. It is just my point of view about this. Now, I will wait until someone else decide that Ezi Car Rental is enough relevant to be on Wikipedia. Thank you for your time and for your participation to Wikipedia. Jeremy

The band "The Hot Place" fits your guideline as, "an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles." The founding member and guitarist of The Hot Place, Jeff Calder, is a notable musician who is also currently active in the band "The Swimming Pool Q's". The Swimming Pool Q's are a national band, and have been recognized in Rolling Stone magazine, their most recent album "1984-1986:The A&M Years" was a Rolling Stone "Reissue of the Year", picked by David Fricke, on page 32 of the December 19-Jan 2 2014 print magazine. The Swimming Pool Q's have had five national/international album releases, on the major labels A&M, Capitol, and Bar None. The singer and other founding member of The Hot Place, Lisa King has has been a member of notable band The Glenn Phillips band, who have released albums on Virgin and Sony Records. King also played keyboards with The Swimming Pool Q's from 2003-2006. The Hot Place features guest guitarist Richard Lloyd of the band "Television", another member of a prominent 1970's band, with historical releases on Elektra records. The Hot Place has been featured in print, in significant North American publications "Georgia Music Magazine", "Stomp and Stammer", and "Creative Loafing."

The Hot Place is directly connected to two major musical artists. One of its founding members is Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's, and guest artist Richard Lloyd of Television, who already have Wikipedia Pages. Could you please clarify how to substantiate that more? I did connect The Hot Place to The Swimming Pool Q's via internal Wikipedia linking. The sources cited, if read in detail, are more than just announcements, interviews, and mentions. They directly discuss how Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's and Richard Lloyd of Television are connected to and/or are members of the Atlanta band The Hot Place. Many of the album reviews and mentions of the band are in analog print media, though I have found several digital places where the band's members are verified and substantiated. Thank you for your help!

This article in particular substantiates The Hot Place's history and verifies the notable musicians who are members. http://www.clatl.com/music/article/13080910/new-wavers-instudio-chemistry-ignites-the-hot-place. I'm not sure how this is not a substantial source. If you could clarify, I would so appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi SisterTwister! Thanks for taking the time to have a look at the changes to the article... Just a quick question for clarification (so that I can get the next edit right): Is the problem that there are not enough external references? A bit confused, as the first reviewer indicated that the article was copied, so I removed all direct references to this (even though they were quoted/cited), but not that there weren't enough notable articles... Please let me know what I need to do to improve the article and have it accepted. Thanks again!

Hi, I would respectfully appreciate a review. Melissa Del Pinto has been recognized as a Canadian artist by The National Gallery of Canada and her name was added to the “Government of Canada, Canadian Heritage Database of Canadian Artists”. I have added the link. In addition, to address the points used to refuse her submission, her paintings are in the collections of notable Canadian collectors. I added the name of Irwin and Claude Lande. Mr. Lande is a noted real-estate developer living in Westmount (Montreal).

I have worked on finding more sources for my citations. The first three reference citations, are from National, credible print and digital magazines, the state run publication "Georgia Music Magazine", and a newspaper which is owned by the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, "Creative Loafing." The References directly explain how The Hot Place contains two notable international musicians in its lineup, Jeff Calder of “The Swimming Pool Q's” and Richard Lloyd of “Television.” Especially notable is source #2, Georgia Music Magazine. This is a state-run print and digital publication. Source 1 and 3 are not merely announcements, they are also detailed articles which explain The Hot Place's debut, and the notable musicians that are involved in the historic project. I also added another source that I found this morning, “Arts Talk” on Blog Talk Radio, Episode #104 Lisa King. I have also looked at other Atlanta bands Wikipedia pages. Some of these are groups which are far less notable than The Hot Place, with no notable musicians involved, and cite less reliable sources. So, I'm curious as to why those articles were approved, and this one is being rejected. Please advise! My sources all verify the notable musicians involved in The Hot Place.

Added another cited source, from "The Recoup" magazine, by Joseph Kyle, in which Jeff Calder directly speaks about being a member and producer of The Hot Place band, with musician Lisa King. https://therecoup.com/2014/04/21/swimming-pool-qs-working-at-the-nut-factory/. The article quotes Jeff Calder of The Swimming Pool Q's, "We have about 2/3 of a new album mixed, and a few basic tracks standing by in the queue, waiting to be finished. I’ve co-produced them with Tim Delaney, a talented Atlanta musician and engineer we’ve worked with as far back as Royal Academy. It certainly helps that I’m friends with a number of great recording engineers, many of whom I was fortunate to be associated with at Atlanta’s legendary Southern Tracks studio, which I helped to manage for many years and where I was on the periphery of what seems like a hundred major rock albums produced by Brendan O’Brien.I like doing new things, having recently produced and played on an album by The Hot Place, Lisa King’s band based in Atlanta. It’s a pretty cool record that has a song called “Saturn Moved” on which Richard Lloyd of Television unleashes a wild solo."

I have resubmitted the article to incorporate all the changes suggested by yourself and other Wikipedia reviewers. I have made substantial changes throughout the document to get rid of any extraneous or unnecessary language, with the effect of streamlining the article. The article now only contains direct and informative language with no self-promotional or journal-like language. I believe you will find the changes I have made to be much more in line with a Wikipedia article.

Obviously trying very hard to conform this to meet the criteria, but wanted to clarify what was meant by focusing on all additional major news, there is a video interview from CNN, but most of the stories tend to refer mostly back to the Chicago Facebook page that I mentioned as a primary source, which to me makes the additional sources a bit moot, but I am willing to do what is needed to get this thing done :) Any further guidance/advice you can offer would be extremely appricated...thanks for the fast review!

Thank you for your time. Rene Moreno meets the notability requirements when you look at it from the angle that he is a very significant person with Down syndrome. That's key here. His documentary is commonplace in collegiate special education curriculums across the country, and has been for 17 years. Up Syndrome has been on Netflix, Hulu amongst many other major streaming outlets for many years. His movies have been the subject of reviews in major trades such as Daily Variety (which is referenced), and he has won a very prestigious award from the National Down Syndrome Congress of the USA (also referenced), which is one of the largest organizations to promote the awareness of Down syndrome that exists in the world today. I think when you look at this person with the correct angle you will understand that he is indeed notable and worthy of inclusion.

Please be more specific as to what should be improved. The sources are all reliable and independent of the subject. The amount of, the breadth and the character of the sources, as well as the notable award winners proof that the article is about a notable subject. So if this is not enough, please be specific about what should be improved.

Thank you for your feedback. This is my first article. I have only ever made minor contributions to other article over the last 10 years or so. Before I wrote this article I read the pages that talk about notability and also needing independent credible sources from news/media publishers who have editors etc.. I believe the page I have drafted has merit based on the guidelines. The development of renewable energy in Australia has been significantly influenced by not for profit and grass roots groups such as Local Power. Not sure if you had a chance to read/view many of the references and if you did perhaps you are not familiar with the Australian media organisations in the references?

The TV coverage of this community initiative was made by the ABC TV network and the TEN TV network. The Australian ABC is a highly credible news organisation of journalistic integrity spanning radio, TV and online. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Broadcasting_Corporation The Australian TEN TV network is one of our 3 commercial news networks and comparable to perhaps NBC or CBS in the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Ten Both of these TV broadcast news services thought this was a newsworthy community initiative which had not been done before. The youtube clips are recordings of the prime time TV news article which were broadcast to audiences of over 1 million people each.

Similarly the ATA is a very credible member based organisation and magazine publisher of ReNew magazine, which has been publishing since 1980 and is not up to it's 138th quarterly magazine https://www.ata.org.au/who/history They chose to write a feature article about the Local Power project because it was something new and novel.

Finally the City South News is a local community newspaper and part of the News Corporation stable of newspapers. While I am not a big fan or Rupert Murdoch (Fox News yuk!) he did get his starts running newspapers in Australia This chain of local papers are said to have 1 million readers weekly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quest_Community_Newspapers

I would humbly ask you to take a closer look at the references, taking into account the above information about independence, and please reconsider this rejection.

    thank you.

Thanks for reviewing our article, I really appreciate it. I want to update the article so that it meets guidelines, but wanted to know which portion specifically doesn't conform to the guidelines so I can work with that. From what I can tell, the article if not very different from the following (in words / scope) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M/I_Homes or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PulteGroup.

Fischer is in the same group as those two homebuilders (and many others already included in Wikipedia) and being in the top 50 in the nation (something that M/I mentions in their article as well) I would think that content is noteworthy as well.

The remainder of the article just lists out the areas of business (where they do business) as well as a small amount of history (founder etc...) for the company (something I see the other Homebuilders do as well.)

If you could give me a little more feedback on what is different from my article and those above (as initial examples) I would appreciate it so I can make the needed changes.

Thanks! I look forward to your help / further comments on the differences.

16:22:53, 29 January 2017 review of submission by Carrie at The Fischer Group

Ok, that makes sense. So what updates do I need to make to it for it to meet the new company guidelines? I don't see any specifics on that which we have not already covered here? I'm specifically looking for "doing this would make it meet the new guidelines" kind of information.

I've re-read the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies) and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Companies/Guidelines and it appears from what I can see there that the article, in its current state covers the areas mentioned.

Again, as far as companies go, and looking at the other homebuilders (as well as other companies) in the space, Fischer is certainly in line with those which are included. (They have been in the top 50 home builders for many years now, they operate in multiple states nationwide, they have plenty of press on them, they are are one of the big builders for the St. Jude's dream home giveaway (which benefits less fortunate people), and the list goes on.

When you get time, let me know what I can do in the way of edits to help get this article revised and into the article space. I appreciate the info so far. It is helpful.

    Thanks.

Hello, first, thanks for taking time to being a Wikipedia curator.

There are 6 main sources cited, that are serious sources (in the Middle-East, and Lebanon). Text publications are rarely digitized, but I could recollect printed articles (Can/should we add them as references and provide scanned proof? What is the procedure for such cases).

The company had a social impact, which is why it is covered. As you might have now noticed, the digital ecosystem is nearly non-existent in this region, and having publicly accessible digital manufacturing service shop with industrial 3D printers in Lebanon is a big step. Not to mention the creation of new 3D printing materials! (2 materials) and several machines.

Additional projects may be appended: Rapidmanufactory has been invited to the St-Etienne Design Biennial this coming march to exhibit: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/theobsessivedrafter/ . This would generate articles by "more known" media entities. A published book about manufacturing (especially digital fabrication), was created by the founder; An article in "L'Orient Le Jour", talks about it: https://www.lorientlejour.com/article/1030988/guillaume-credoz-et-son-robot.html

Looking forward to your assistance in having this article published.

    Thank you, Chady

Dear SwisterTwister, thank you for your review and suggestions for improvement. You are absolutely right, the viennacontemporary header needs to be deleted (done).

Regarding additional articles: I added an article from the NY Times from 2015: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/14/arts/international/vienna-looks-east-for-fine-art.html?_r=0

But otherwise, I would like to argue that the most important English references are already included in the article (I guess I can’t add German publications where we have a lot of press, in all the major newspapers). I have included: Forbes, Vogue, and important publications from the artworld: Wallpaper Magazine, Blouin Artinfo, Artsy, Sotheby’s blog, The Art Newspaper, artnet News, Flash Art, artforum.com, Widewalls, Cultured Mag.

Would that be fine for you?

    Hi there,

many thanks for taking the time to review the page I created. I am new to Wikipedia so am finding my way through trial and error so would be grateful for any help to improve the chances of submission! I felt the subject worthy of an article, largely because of her role as ambassador for the Orange Tree theatre in London. The theatre is a theatre that produces new work of exceptional standard, most recently reviewed in Variety magazine Los Angeles, and acknowledged to be a forerunner in new writing. Heery was one of fourteen invited because they were considered to be 'leading figures in the Arts and beyond – who will champion the work of the Theatre.' She is also a member of the Davison/Tennant family who have a large fan base in the worldwide science fiction community, not only because of her work with Big Finish audio, but also because of her film work in the series The Tripods, and Life Force. Her son, David Tennant's step brother in law, Louis Davison, has just played Victor in Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children made by Fox films. As an ambassador for theatre she is able to reach a wide audience through her body of work, regular TV work spanning twenty five years, and professional relationships within the literary world. Is any of this helpful as regards an edit?

Hi there, I wasn't quite sure what you meant by 'merged to the local community's article' - could you clarify? I thought given the school's history and relationship to other wiki articles, that it would be a good candidate for a page of it's own - I don't understand why it's not notable just because it's not a secondary school. Would you mind elaborating?

    Thanks, Hazel

I'm not sure how to ask, but you reviewed our page for the Hanna Boys Center last. I just found a reference to our non-profit in the United States COngressional Record at our 60th Anniversary in 2010. It's obviously old but maybe it can help as a non-local reference.

I am not sure what else I need to do here. I am happy to strip content out of my entry to get it to be non-advertising but I don't know what to remove.

This process is more than a little difficult.

Please help our non-profit do good work for at-risk teenagers!!!!

Hi! Thanks for the review. Added references from a variety of news sources on multiple topics. Used other podcast pages as reference for how rigor this should be, e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Screen_Savers

Hope that's enough for approval! Thanks

I would like to thanks for your review. Unfortunately my submitted article doesn't meet wiki's guideline for notable personality article. After your firs review I have added a few more references. I think it should meet your guideline. Here I want to inform you that Bangladesh's news industry basically depends on Bengali language. A few English language Daily Newspaper or Online News portal available in here. So, Bangladeshi actress Misty Zannat's news are all around in Bengali language online and newspaper but a fewer in English newspaper and online. Before re-review my article please consider this fact.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. I'm happy to add more reviews as there are many to choose from. Still, I'm surprised that Nick Kristoff's (arguably the most important reviewer at the NY Times) isn't alone sufficient. Is that all this needs? Just more reviews? Please advise and I will continue adding them. Thanks very much!

I believe the added television interviews and press accounts meet the standards for notability. Also if you look at the page for the Under Secretary of Treasury, there's a red link missing waiting for Jim's page to be added.

Thanks very much. I've just added a lot of reviews from very serious sources including multiple NYtimes, Forbes, BBC, Rolling Stone, the observer, Kirkus (major publishing industry reviewer) and quite a few more.

    Hope that helps!

You declined this article with the reasoning "this is simply what they would advertise to clients and it's unconvincing regardless of anything or anyone" however, it is not clear what is 'unconvincing', much less who is 'anything or anyone'. Please state coherent grounds for declining it, so that the problem can be fixed.

Also, you stated "examining the sources find they're only announcements and mentions". This did not reflect the facts at the time of the original submission, and even less so now. In the original submission, two reliable, independent sources were cited (namely Cleveland Encyclopedia and ASME), both showing that the subject of this article is both notable and worthy of inclusion. In the meantime, a second more detailed reference by ASME (which has a national audience) as well as a reference from Heartland Science (created by the Ohio Academy of Science) have been added. Both of these also discuss how the subject of this article is notable and worthy of inclusion.

Please accept the submission. Thank you for your time.

    HI there Twisted Sister,

Many thanks for the re-review, this is Michael Stever, (filmmaker) I am NOT the person who created this initial draft, nor am I the one who has amended it the last couple times. There is no (Present) need for a re-review as my team has not had a change to make any changes/updates so clearly it's a mute point until then. I did have just a couple questions regarding the submission protocol and I've not been able to get a solid enough answer from the person doing this for me so am reaching out to you myself. I realize that you want more 'high profile' pieces added to to this draft, which I actually am in the process of providing. To date myself or my team have just not had the chance as we've been swamped with work, and other obligations.

In the meantime, if you don't mind me showing you the two pieces I'd planned on adding, it would be HUGELY helpful if you could give a heads up if you thought these two following write-ups could be helpful in pushing my listing through... Here are the two mentiones in two nationally circulated, high-profile publications. BOTH of the below write-ups are relatively new...

FEATURED MENTION IN 'ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY' http://ew.com/article/2016/09/14/fearnyc-new-york-horror-film-festival/

    FEATURED WRITE-UP 'FANGORIA' magazine http://www.fangoria.com/new/winners-highlight-video-revealed-for-fearnyc-festival/

Finally, TwistedSister... if I may humbly ask, Why do the rejection notices constantly and repeatedly say that the submissions need to be ABOUT ME, not BY ME? Most of these links and such are to write-ups in noteworthy, legitimate online publications, so I (nor the person doing this for me) are clearly understanding the particulars of this important bullet point. Can you PLEASE expand on this, so I/we know? I have NEVER had the question adequately answered, and clearly we need to better understand so my team can fine tune the draft to a most acceptable level... Is it that I need to ensure ALL links to anythings tied to my own website, (MichaelStever.net) need to be fully omitted? Am also in the dark on what does, or does NOT constitute as worthy information from IMDB, as I see COUNTLESS other wiki pages that list/feature IMDB content.

ALSO, I'm worrying that this existing draft will somehow be deleted, or permenantly removed if it gets enough 'rejection' notices, so PLEASE is there any way to ensure it NOT get re-reviewed anymore until myself and my team have time regroup, and re-edit, it would be sincerely appreciated,

thank you for ANY clues you have TwistedSister..

My mom's also about to pass, so have to brace for that which leaves this pretty low on the priority list, but SO SINCERELY appreciate any help or input you could offer,

    Sincerely,

    Michael Stever

I translated, from the english to the spanish, and expanded the article about Rebecca Solnit. There is no spanish article about Rebecca Solnit in the Wikipedia. My article was rejected because "the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at Rebecca Solnit instead". In english you have an article, which I did not edited, but in spanish there is nothing about the author. I am new in wikipedia and I do not know what to do, how is the correct procedure when you are translating an article from a language to another? Could you give me some information about the steps I need to follow right now?

I think we got it - I hope. I edited the subject's career section to introduce the connection with the subject's books. I also added hyperlinks within some of the sections and other small edits. I've studied the subject for a while, so I think it's important to keep the critical aspects of the career history as they led to the books. Without the career section, then the subject didn't have the expertise to write the books. Thank you.

I have read the Golden Rule and the requirements for significant comment from reliable sources but I do not understand what is missing to prove the notoriety of the one of the most controversial people in Alberta politics, the Mayor of Alberta's 14th largest city (Chestermere) Patricia Matthews: see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Patricia_Matthews_(politician)#cite_note-77 . Just today she was cleared of wrong doing in a year long Provincial investigation (see the last line AND the two cited independent media sources).

Is it that there are some references to 'smaller' sources like The Anchor (local newspaper) and if so should those references be removed? CBC, The Calgary Herald, The SUN, Global TV, 660 News and others are all very large scale media outlets that operate regionally or nationally with large well paid editorial staff. The article contains dozens of such references over controversies driven by Mayor Matthews and the "smaller' references help fill in the story so I would hate to remove them.

Your comments as to what is missing would be appreciated.

Hello! I am new to editing Wikipedia (I have always been a regular user of course!). Thank you very much for all that you've contributed to the project. I am surprised that Susto the band is not notable enough for a page. They have two albums, were recently featured on CBS News, have been reviewed by local newspapers and music websites, and are about to go on tour with the Lumineers. I have seen them play at at packed venues twice. It seems odd to me that they would not have a page at this point.

Hey Swister. Thanks for reviewing my page. I'm just wondering if you can help with a little more advice. I've asked in the live chat for some more advice (as I'm new to this) and been advised that the main reason is our page sounding like and advertisement (as you've suggested as well that it seem like a business listing). I've done my best to avoid that by only stating facts etc. but if this isn't the case (and if you have a chance) would you be able to help me understand if there was a specific section that is still in the wrong tone? I only ask as there are two pages for competitor businesses that are similar (with the CD Baby one in particular even referencing their prices etc.) I understand it's not a case of "They have a page so you get one too", just wondering if there is something I'm missing that makes theirs okay and the RouteNote one require changes. Apologies if this sounds argumentative (it's genuinely not written that way, but tone is hard to convey in text!). Also, just in case you see this message before I manage to fix my user page, I am about to attempt to declare that I work for RouteNote (in case it wasn't already clear). Thanks again. Nick

Hey Swister, Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions and help me with this article. I see what you mean regarding the sources being merely mentions within articles. Do you think it would help if I removed the majority of the sources with the exception of the West Briton one (which is a specific article about RouteNote) and maybe the PC Mag one (as that is a guide for other aspiring musicians on how to upload music, one where the reviewer happens to use RouteNote)? Also, if this would help, can we still keep the references to the websites that have reviewed us without specifically using the sources? Again, really appreciate your help with this. It's my first article submission for Wiki and want to get it right! Nick

    Decline of Draft:Ewald Arenz

Dear Swister Twister, thanks for having a look at the new article about Ewald Arenz. I can see that there is a problem with German and Italian sources, but those are partly printed and online encyclopaedia articles, secondary literature on the person and partly reviews by German TV and Radio stations. Since his works are increasingly published in other languages an English wikipedia site seems reasonable. Besides, there are already two articles on Ewald Arenz in the German and Arab Wikipedia. I have already and will add some more references if necessary.

    Hi

Thanks for taking the time to review this again, we'll get there eventually!

I understand what you say regarding the Custom Step sentence being too suggestive as an advertisement and have removed this sentence with the latest edit.

However, I'm not entirely clear on what you mean regarding your "starting company of the year" comment. El Camino Bracelets are not seeking funding or support, however, it'd be great to start with a basic Wikipedia page now, upon which can be added over time. The most similar company to El Camino Bracelets appears to be Pura Vida (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pura_Vida_Bracelets). If my latest edit does not pass, please could you give me a couple of pointers as to why the proposed El Camino Bracelets Wikipedia page would differ from their Wikipedia page, I am far from an expert in this area, however, when I compared the two, the basic principles appear to be very similar.

    Thanks for your time,

I am unable to find any "news" related information to support the article. I have however checked with governing bodies such as the Intellectual Property Office which is a government body https://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmcase/Results/1/UK00003135353 and Companies House https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08638142 which are both verifiable government bodies. Does that help? I would have thought if the source was verifiable like a government agency (i.e. IRS, FBI etc), that would supersede news publications. Is that not correct?

I'm just not really sure what more notable reviews or write ups you are looking for. The Village Voice, Pazz and Jop, AllMusic, and Popmatters are some of the largest music publications in the business besides Rolling Stone and Spin. "We need all majorly published reviews" What does that mean? You need MORE of them, or you don't like the sources? Because the sources are very high profile and reliable sources- all of which were referenced in the references section.

    Hello [SwisterTwister]]

Many Thanks for your comments on my draft article proposal on RL360°. I have updated the page and removed most of the content but I have to say I am very confused as to how my page was rejected even though my sources were from credible publications such as the FT, Bloomberg, Independent and the New York Times. What's more puzzling is that I based my article on other pages that are on Wikipedia. I can't understand how pages with very little content, citations and notability are approved, and the one I created was not. The company I am writing about has a long history in Life Assurance / Insurance and origins from the biggest players in the business who even note the company in their on wiki pages.

Can you please check my new draft and if you are still not happy can you provide more details about which sections are not sufficient? Really apprreciate your guideance. Karin Jam(talk) 09:57 8 March 2017

Thanks so much for the review of this article - I really appreciate the quick turnaround, and your comments make sense. I have made several edits to the article, largely by removing content that seemed overly editorialized or advertisement-like; does this come closer to the appropriate level of objectivity?

The biographical article is about a permanent civil servant in India, of a level equivalent to a Brigadier-General in the armed forces or Senior Executive Service in the US. Most of thee references are from The_Times_of_India, The_Hindu which are the largest and 2nd largest selling English newspapers in India which are independent of the person, and official sources available on the Internet. He is particularly notable for winning India's award for excellence in Public Administration which only 5-10 people from over 8 million civil servants get each year. Please reconsider.

Hello SwisterTwister - just wanted to clarify the reason for the submission being decline - the reason stated "What establishes notability is museum collections or major art reviews." makes sense for someone who is solely artist, my question is how does one prove notability as an art blogger/personality? Thanks for the help, I am new to Wikipedia.

I don't know how much more independent evidence of a person's notability you can have than the awards received, with citations and reference s to the awarding organization's websites, including the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and patents issued as independently verifiable on the USPTO website. Nevertheless, I've added further documentation with references to two published histories of the laser, from the National Academy Press and the Optical Society of America. If these are not independent evidence of notability, I must request a different reviewer.

This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Our article follows closely the set up for another Advertising notable - Lee Garfinkel, who's wiki entry has 13 references vs 18 for Gary.

Wikipedia requires significant coverage about the subject in reliable sources that are independent of the subject—see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies and the golden rule. The sources we have quoted are reliable and independent of Gary - they are The New York Times, AdWeek, The Wall Street Journal, among others. They fall in line with the references that Lee Garfinkel's entry uses, and are organizations of note, and the information they support is verifiable.

If there are questions about the content within the entry, please elaborate, and if you have any suggestions to make it more robust, I would love to hear them.

    Thanks!

    Hello SwisterTwister(?)

I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean by: "I'm willing to accept".... and "but it specifically needs all additional significant independent sourcing; notability cannot be inherited from others."...

I've personally been through a couple of Fintech (& other (ie: Insurtech)) accelerators. These (& consulting companies (ie: PwC, KPMG, Accenture, Deloite Touche, etc.)) have referred to other such tech groups as retailTech, RegTech (Regulatory), PeerTech, and others.

My difficulty is in finding veritable references that specific expression... but it will emerge.

Please let me know if still "willing to accept" my explanation.

    regards, Chris

Thank you for taking the time to review my article about Julian Treasure. It’s a shame that you feel the article is unacceptable, and I’d like to discover how I can address the issues that you’ve raised.

    Notability

There is significant interest in Julian’s work (such as decreasing crime rates in cities). This is represented by features in the world’s press - publications such as TIME Magazine, The BBC, The Economist, The Guardian, CNN, The Daily Mail, Vogue and The New York Times. His work has even been written about in a dedicated article on the front page of The Wall Street Journal.

I cannot understand how the article has been rejected partly on the grounds that “Wikipedia requires significant coverage about the subject in reliable sources that are independent of the subject” given that these are some of the biggest publications in the world.

Julian is also a recognised public speaker and educator. He has trained thousands of people in-person all over the world about sound and communication, and an estimated 40 million people have watched his online videos. One of Julian’s TED talks is in the 10th most watched of all time, and he’s also one of only nine people who have five talks on TED.com - others are Bill Gates, Thomas Dolby and Hans Rosling.

Whilst I appreciate that success at TED alone may not warrant a Wikipedia page, it is a strong demonstration of the popularity of his teaching and the innovation of his ideas.

“PR advertising” It was not the intention that this article read as a PR piece. Perhaps this came about partly from the fact that Julian’s company is marketing based - it’s potentially hard to highlight the significant fact that a company has increased sales, however innovative the nature of the work, without sounding like a PR article.

Secondly, as this is my first attempt at writing a Wikipedia article, it was focussed solely on facts and figures and this may have led to a lack of narrative and relevance to the piece.

Most importantly, Julian’s mission that runs throughout all his work is to “make the world sound beautiful”, and I intend to focus on this in subsequent edits.

    Suggestions

I hope that this message has explained how Julian and his work is notable. I therefore suggest the following:

    - I will re-write the article with more focus on narrative and relevance (see above) to tie everything together. Should I create a separate article about The Sound Agency including clients, awards etc?

    - Should I remove or keep information about Julian's publishing career? He founded a notable company and received multiple recognised awards during that period; this article for those who are interested to check him out, so his background is surely relevant?

    - Should I remove or keep information about his music career? This is always of interest to people who want to know from Julian “how did you get into sound?”

    - I will remove reference to him being an author in the main summary. I understand that he is not widely recognised for this, and will instead mention his book only briefly. (He is currently working on a new book to be published late in 2017 and aimed at a much wider consumer audience, so this will probably change in time.)

    - I can include more on the training work and workshops that Julian has done at conferences and events internationally. A lot of these are notable.

    - How do I ensure 'high quality' references to publications? What are the standards? Surely major media like The Times and the BBC are high quality? Are there specific references that are degrading the standard and should be removed?

    - I can add more detail about his work... how it is innovative - techniques and technology, core ideas etc, if this is useful.

I look forward to receiving your feedback, along with anything else that you think will make the article acceptable.

    Many thanks.

As a writer he's written and sold a number of novels. As a stunt choreographer he has an extensive list of file credits. I'm not sure I understand how these are not significant?

Request for reconsideration: The rejection of this article does not take account of the fact that this artist is already the subject of a Wikipedia page in Bulgarian: https://bg.wikipedia.org/Иван Вукадинов. This was not previously cited, but the English page under consideration is essentially mirroring the existing Bulgarian page. It is therefore inappropriate to dismiss the English page as not meeting the criteria for significance.

In response to the comments about the reliability and independence of the sources of this article, this article was sourced by no fewer than four independent Bulgarian and one Italian author, publishing in English, German, Italian and Bulgarian, all of which describe the artist in glowing terms. Moreover, he is the subject of not one but two individual artist biographical surveys by the National Gallery of Art in Sofia, the central authority on Bulgarian art. By dismissing these as reliable sources, the reviewer is essentially dismissing the entire country of Bulgaria as a reputable and independent assessor of artistic merit and applying a narrow, Anglo-American definition of source relevance to the Wikipedia selection procedure. The number of referenced sources has now been nearly doubled.

I should point out that the primary source that is cited is an extremely reputable book about the artist by the doyenne of art critics in Bulgaria, Distinguished Professor Aksinia Dzhurova, who is completely independent of the artist in question. This art authority is Director of the Bulgarian Center for Slavic and Byzantine Studies, a positon she has held for four decades since 1986, and has an international reputation as indicated by her visiting professorships at the universities of Yale (USA), Jerusalem (Israel), the Sorbonne (France) and the Institute for Eurasian Studies (Italy). She has also been honored as a Foreign Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU). She is the author of 25 books and hundreds of publications and on Medieval culture, Slavic and Byzantine art, Slavic codicology and Modern art. She is therefore unquestionably an established, reliable authority on the standing of Eastern European artists, and is completely independent of the artist (as am I).

A revised version of the page has been prepared, itemizing further activities and world recognition of this important artist.

    Hello,

I'm writing this current Wikipedia article as there is a lack of knowledge regarding the AMAR foundation. I understand that Wikipedia has strict guidelines regarding writing, however, I was wondering if there is any information (specific) that I should omit in order to write a successful article?

Additionally, while the notability Wikipedia page was really helpful, I still fail to understand which source would be useful? In the UK, news papers like the Sun/the Mirror are considered tabloid and should not be noteworthy news, but would Wikipedia consider these papers worthy of reference?

    Thank you in advance,

    Hi!

I understand there were some sources "close" to the artist. I've put other sources, all independent from him and left the "problematic" ones out (iTunes listings, blogs, etc.).

Basically there would be two reasons to include him:

    - He's been #1 on an International Independent Music chart, compiled with radio airplay of more than 90 countries.

    - He's been nominated for the "independent Grammys" in Spain with his album.

He also has a long discography but I understand that's not reason enough to include him here.

Please let me know your thoughts! This is my first article and I'd like to write more after this one :)

    Thank you!

I have looked at other space wiki pages such as SpaceX and Deep Space Industries and I followed their formatting and the content that they have in their pages is the same as the content in the Saber Page just with more intellectual property.

I'm such a newbie and Wikipedia is complicated for me, that I don't know if I'm communicating correctly. Your latest comment asked that "major independent news" organizations be used in references. However, we are a small 501 (c)3 organization in a small town, barely surviving on donations. Our local newspaper has 1 1/2 pages of local news each day, so the chances of getting "major independent news" references are just about non-existent. Do have any suggestions?

We put this page together since we found several Wikipedia pages that reference our organization, but a click on those links took a reader nowhere. We thought we were helping Wikipedia be more comprehensive and could get our story referenced too. If you think our submission is going nowhere, I'm willing to withdraw it.

Could we please use the same criterion which was used and passed for his accepted Spanish-Wiki page? The question is : why his Spanish notability should outrank his English notability? This second attempt of Andrew Radford should only be seen in the light of a translation from Spanish to English (the dominant language of his scholarly works), and to add updated materials.

How are sources from world-famous and established newspapers as nytimes, theguardian or music-relevant pages like mtv or discogs are NOT reliable. What more reliable sources about a musician can there be than from newspapers everyone has heard from and world famous music pages?? I used well know newspapers or music papers for the general information and well know music databases or the music label/musician websites themself for the discography. Most of these pages even have a wikipedia article themselves... I am sorry - but when i compare this to the pages that the reviewer wrote himself - they are much less and proper referenced. There is also an artist in the list where the reviewer used exactly the same unreliable sources (mtv etc.). I may have not been writing about very well known artist - In fact i think this is the main reason.. But i wrote about one who worked with artist on albums and with producers who achieved Platinum status (often several times) - and i spend a lot of time viewing, comparing and chossing references. And to make the decline even more funny: there is a wikipedia article with a cricketeer of the same name which goes like" Jennifer Turner (born 5 September 1969) is a New Zealand former cricketer." Then one reference. And that was it. So - if i shorten my article to its first sentence "Jennifer Turner is a singer/songwriter musician and producer." and link to one "reliable source" (instead of several...) - guess it is ok and can be approved?

I may agree that the general look can be polished - but sources not reliable?? If so the reviewer himself used those unreliable sources and should decline some of the articles he has on his userpage...

So to recap: it would be kind to point out which sources are the ones who are supposed to be unreliable.

As comment to my improvments you wrote: "The same listed guideline also says that the listed profiles such as MTV, Bandcamp, Discogs, etc. must be removed as they are not independent or significant; while there are now headlines for the journalists, those alone are simply not enough to satisfy WP:Notability (music). Basically these profile-like sources only exist to confirm it exists, but not notability, and especially since anyone can make their own profile, it wouldn't be notable. " No it does not! First: MTV is already removed before the second review as mtv updated their page and i couldnt find the artist page anymore. Which tells me the commentor didnt really check the links. Second: All the links i did not comment further so far are ONLY related to the discography - so mainly Databases LIKE Discogs. The link you refer to refers to creating a WHOLE ARTICLE of an Album, song or whatnot - not a discography INSIDE and as part of an article in which the NOTABILITY or the artist is already proven by 17 references. Also Discogs - cleary fulfills the criteria of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music)#Recordings - as it is not related to the musician, label or whatever. You can even see on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discogs. Significance is a word easily thrown - What makes That it is one of the biggest sources available. To underline this: in articles that probably are reviewed numerous times - like those of a small band called the Beatles Discogs CAN BE FOUND as reference. So - the person itself is already shown to be notable by 17 references spanning the musical carrer. Also no guidline disproves Discogs and other used sources for beeing wrong for the usage on the discography inside this article - even more you can find sources like these in discographys of some of the worlds most famous artists. Just to be sure i gave the Discography of Elvis Presley a try: and again - discogs can be found. 2 out of 2. So either everyone reviewing this articles is wrong. Or i am right in using those references. So please accept my well researched article.

I've included more relevant information about Unigma LLC and created this Draft. I want to publish it. What do you think?

    Thank you very much,

Hi! Just wondering if you could offer some advice n how I can improve my article. I removed some of the less reputable sources, and added a section on film reviews from more reputable publications (Village Voice, Criterion, Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, etc.) Is there anything else I can contribute or edit to the article to help get it approved? Thanks!

Hi SwisterTwister‬, I have re-edited the draft and re-submitted for review. Would you please check and let me know if you have any other question?

Mr. Wu is a legendary entrepreneur and businessman in Hong Kong, also a famous investor within the film and entertainment industry in the US. He has an approved Wikipedia page in Traditional Chinese (link) and I am now helping to create an English page for him.

    Thanks.

Dear SwisterTwister, I saw your comment, I think I have addressed the source issue, I used sources that are not related or link back to the company in any way, but going off on your comment about the 5000 list, the link provided doesn't link to the full list, it links to what the company's standing is on that list (for the most current year and all previous years). If you could take a look at the sources again, I would greatly appreciate it (I have changed almost all of them, I evidently had to leave the ones where I got the most basic company information, everything else I changed)

    Thanks again

The reviewer said I did not indicate major reviews which was not correct as I indicated Kramer had reviews in the NY Times, ARTnews, and Art in America, in addition to being in a major anthology of feminist artists. I have added some of the museums her work has been shown in. I wondered if the reviewer noted that Kramer peers, the people she worked on and often led, as feminist artist pioneers all have Wikipedia websites already. Pesilikis showed less than she has.

    Second opinion on Draft:Hannah Grace

Hi, it's me again . I was wondering your opinion on Draft:Hannah Grace? I think that having references from the BBC and (lesser so) the daily star definitely make it interesting and, barring a copyvio check (which I can't do easily on mobile but will when I am at my PC) returning that it is in violation/plagiarized, I would be tempted to accept it personally. It has some grammar issues/typos but are quite minor and I would be tempted to just fix myself and would not consider a deal breaker acceptance wise. What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks as always for your time --TheSandDoctor (talk) 00:52, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So would you decline it for the time being saying to add more reliable references etc or? --TheSandDoctor (talk) 02:15, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
TheSandDoctor Currently declining to allow additional sources would be good. Cheers, SwisterTwister talk 03:48, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your time! Is your opinion the same for the one below? --TheSandDoctor (talk) 05:34, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Second opinion on Draft:Subterfuge (game)

What do you think of Draft:Subterfuge (game)? I am thinking that it is possibly acceptable and the having Polygon (and to a lesser extent, Gamasutra) as a references does seem to indicate at least some notability to the game. Would like to see more on the level of Polygon as well though. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 02:30, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response! Hope you dont mind my asking you these sorts of questions when I come across them and am unsure. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 05:39, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Second opinion on Draft:Rosenbaum Contemporary

What is your opinion on Draft:Rosenbaum Contemporary? I am thinking it possibly notable but am unsure as to if Art of the Times is a reputable source or which sources might be. Your thoughts are welcome. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 22:08, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • TheSandDoctor Yes, I wasn't sure about that one, but I think because of the article weight, there's enough to accept but, first additional significant sources would especially help. Cheers, SwisterTwister talk 22:29, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I left an AFC comment on it and marked it as no longer under review. I might work on it myself as the editor appears inactive. It depends what I can dig up (although I can't do it tonight as it is getting pretty late here). --TheSandDoctor (talk) 05:49, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Second opinion request on Draft:Adam Armstrong

On my talk page the editor who created the draft has brought it to my attention that the essay-like wording has been addressed and I said that I would get a second reviewer to take a look at it and get their opinion on it. I was wondering what you think of Draft:Adam Armstrong? I also said in my response that more/additional noteworthy citations tend to be a good way to go. The draft is interesting and does appear to have some good references behind it, although only one is digital. Copyvio isn't loading the page for me so I am not sure on its results at this time. TheSandDoctor No claims of notability and no signs of a formatted encyclopedia article. Cheers, SwisterTwister talk 06:11, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Second opinion request on Draft:Ty J. Young

Hi again, I was wondering if I could get your input on Draft:Ty J. Young? I think that it would benefit from all additional sourcing however am 'on the fence' as to if it should be accepted or declined. What is your take on it? --TheSandDoctor (talk) 17:53, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your input - based on your recommendation I declined the page as an ad with a comment to refer to the below AFC comments/messages. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 20:51, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Second opinion request on Draft:Darez Ahamed

Hi again, I was just wondering if I could get your input on Draft:Darez Ahamed? Thanks again for your time! --TheSandDoctor (talk) 14:56, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Second opinion request on Draft:Sheeba Ameer

What do you think of Draft:Sheeba Ameer? The user who created it has posted on my talk page asking for another opinion on the draft and any pointers to improve it in the event that it is not ready. Some of the citations/references do appear interesting but I am not sure if they are enough. Apparently for the books section they were unable to find any references either (see this section). What are your thoughts on it? --TheSandDoctor (talk) 06:32, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again for your input on the draft. I have linked the creator to this thread as well so they can ask anything that they may be wondering in connection to this should they choose. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 22:30, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Second opinion request on Draft:Gargoyle (band)

Hi there, I was wondering what you thought of Draft:Gargoyle (band)? It is translated by the draft creator from the Japanese Wikipedia. I am thinking that it is potentially good enough to accept however more independent/notable/reliable sources are typically always a good thing to add. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 03:56, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    • TheSandDoctor Ah yes, it would need additional significant news since some of the sources are simply listed discographies or notices. Cheers, SwisterTwister talk 03:58, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That was a quick response! Thanks as always for your help! --TheSandDoctor (talk) 04:08, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand what you mean by "notability can not be inherited". Could you explain? This is my first article ever and I'm writing it because it was weird to find that there was only a spanish article in Wikipedia regarding Gonzalez.

Please bear in mind that in my submission: There are references to articles regarding González' work in cultural supplements of all major Argentinean written press: Clarin, Pagina 12, La Nacion. There is a link to a video interview from the Argentinean national TV network (Encuentro is a public signal from the Ministry of Culture: http://encuentro.gob.ar/) There are links to interviews in two highly renowned radio broadcasts in Argentina (Radio Metro, Radio Vorterix). There is a link to a disclosure by Argentinean Embassy in Germany regarding Gonzalez' visit to Berlin to show his work.

Certainly he is not internationally renowned, but his local renown is comparable to many other countercultural artists that do have a profile in Wikipedia. As an example, and for the sake of their similarities, take the case of the Brazilian writer Ferrez.

According to Wikipedia's guidelines for notability (in bold those criteria met by Gonzalez):

Basic criteria: People are presumed notable if they have received significant coverage in multiple published[4] secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other,[5] and independent of the subject.[6]

If the depth of coverage in any given source is not substantial, then multiple independent sources may be combined to demonstrate notability; trivial coverage of a subject by secondary sources may not be sufficient to establish notability.[7] Primary sources may be used to support content in an article, but they do not contribute toward proving the notability of a subject.

Criteria for authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, and other creative professionals:

The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors.

The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory, or technique. The person has created or played a major role in co-creating a significant or well-known work or collective body of work. In addition, such work must have been the primary subject of an independent and notable work (for example, a book, film, or television series, but usually not a single episode of a television series) or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews.

The person's work (or works) either (a) has become a significant monument, (b) has been a substantial part of a significant exhibition, (c) has won significant critical attention, or (d) is represented within the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums.

request for Marcello Aliprandi Article submission by stefanianj

Hi, I am kind of new to wiki. My Article for Marcello Aliprandi, you decliened, is a translation from an original article in the italian wiki (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcello_Aliprandi). Translations of the article already exist in many other languages such as spanish, french and german. I thought it would be a nice thing to have it in English as well since Aliprandi had directed english speaking actors such as academy award winner Martin Balsam and Orson Wells and he certainly meets notability criteria. I did not know how to place the tags on top of the article to show that it was a translation. There are many articles on the interent and books referencing Aliprandi but I was not trying to write an original article but just post a translation of the original Italian article. The original article reference for example a work by Tullio Kezich who is a very noted italian film critic. I still need to add the filmography and the imdb reference. Please help. I look forward to your input. Stefanianj 09:42 04/11/2017 UTC

    Hi SwisterTwister,

A couple of days ago you rejected our draft of a page about Chris Lovasz, and we have since improved the draft. We have added a lot of information and third party sources including (but not limited to) the Telegraph, PCGamesN and TenEighty magazine. We are of the belief that Chris Lovasz is quite notable as he has a large fanbase and a large amount of self produced content. he is, in our humble opinions, much more notable than a bunch of youtubers that do already have a wikipedia page such as a number of SourceFed hosts like William Haynes just to name an example. And equally notable as fellow Yogscast members Hat Films.

We hope that you will look at the draft again from a fair and just view and possibly provide us with feedback to improve our page. Thank you in advance,

The community from /r/sips on Reddit.

Hi! I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on how best to find relevant source material for my topic which was rejected, the Downtown Lincoln Association. I have lots of newspaper mentions and stories from modern times, but most of the history of the organization (which is linked with the history of the city itself) is in newspaper archives behind a paywall. I'm a total wiki newbie here so I'm just trying to figure out what exactly I should be aiming for here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

The page Christine Merline was not accepted due to a lack of 'notability.' Christine Merlin is a relatively young scientist but has made some monumental discoveries in monarch butterfly circadian rhythms and migration patterns, which is outlined on the page. The references cited to support that information is not from Merlin herself but from primary review sources of her materials.

Following this justification, I believe this page has been incorrectly declined.

The page Doctor Leandro Herrero was not accepted due to a lack of 'notability.'

He is a world renowned speaker with the sources of very important events independently referenced in the text. Further, he is currently leading a nation-wide health executive service revamp across all Ireland, also referenced.

Also, googling Leandro Herrero redirects to this other Mr. Herrero, who has beed dead for a while, possible confusing many out there, including myself. ( https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leandro_%C3%81ngel_Herrero )

Following this double justification, I believe this page has been incorrectly declined.

    Surname disambiguations

I noticed you've created a lot of surname disambiguations recently. This is good, but please be aware of our guidelines at MOS:DABPEOPLE: "For people, include their birth and death years (when known), and ... descriptive information...." Usually, we list the nationality, and if there are complication in that, we list them, as in this made-up example:

    • John Smith (born 1983), New Zealand-born Australian footballer now playing in Fiji

Introductory lines for surname disambiguations are usually more than just "may refer to:", for example

MacArthur or Macarthur is a surname, originating with the Scottish Clan MacArthur and now spread through English-speaking countries. Notable people with the surname include:

It would have been fine to shorten this to:

MacArthur or Macarthur is a surname. Notable people with the surname include:

I also noticed a lot of inconsistency between your disambiguation entries and the main articles. For example, according to the individual biographical articles:

    • Haggo
    • Weijie
      • Jiang Weijie is a professional Go player, not an athlete. Go is a board game, not an athletic sport.
    • Noppert
      • Danny Noppert is a darts player; darts is not usually considered an athletic sport.
    • Dorley
      • August Dorley is German soldier as you wrote, but he is notable for having fought in the American Civil War, and he died in the United States.
    • Mugabi
    • Fané
      • Lassana Fané is a Malian football player currently playing in the Saudi Professional League; he is not Kuwaiti.
    • Pradyut is a given name, not a surname.

I found all this in just the first 17 of these disambiguations that I looked at, which I found at Special:ShortPages. Given this high rate of discrepancy between the biographical articles and the disambiguation pages, would you consider going back and reviewing all of your recent surname disambiguation pages? Please include include their birth and death years (when known), and descriptive information, including nationality, following the guidelines at MOS:DABPEOPLE, with info consistent with the biographical articles.

You created Rokne at 23:27, 16 April 2017‎, with a link to Marianne Rokne, without her birth year, even though it's right there in the lead sentence of her article. When you create human name disambiguations, would you please put in the birth and death years, when available, in the individual entries? Anomalocaris (talk) 04:13, 17 April 2017 (UTC)bu[reply]

You created Datcu with a link to Ilie Datcu without including his birth year, even though it's right there in the lead sentence of his article. It would be easier for all concerned if you would put available birth and death years in disambiguation entries in the first place. Anomalocaris (talk) 17:00, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for putting birth years where available in your new disambiguations Tillack, Schweickart, and Rosker. And thank you for your many contributions to Wikipedia, both in editing existing articles and creating new ones. —Anomalocaris (talk) 22:11, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You created Stolow with less care than the last group I commented on. You omitted Henry Stolow's birth and death year, which were right there in the article, and you missed both of their professions. Albert Stolow is a physical and theoretical chemist, not an engineer. Henry Stolow was a stamp dealer, which is more informative than businessman, and for a Latvian it's noteworthy that he did most of his work in other countries, specifically the United States and Germany. —Anomalocaris (talk) 04:46, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Could I get you to take another look at the iRhythm Technologies page? I know you get a ton of requests every day, so no rush of course. I'm just so curious. (I checked my email like every hour this weekend, even in the middle of the night...) this was my first shot at an article as I'm trying to learn the process. I was trying to be patient... but I failed....

Let me start by saying, I 100% agree that my first draft was pretty much just a "business listing". I was having a hard time figuring out what to write about a company while making sure that it didn't sound like an advertisement. To remedy this, I went and read a number of articles featured by the Companies Wikiproject and that helped to break me out of my writer's block. :) I think that I've fleshed it out a lot better.

As for the "notability", I'll admit I was a little confused because I read in WP:Notability_(organizations_and_companies)#Publicly_traded_corporations that things like analyst reports were valid for establishing notability, which is where I was trying to get most of my references. They weren't announcements from iRhythm, but rather articles by analysts about iRhythm. Either way, I added some references from a couple books and peer-reviewed research that discuss iRhythm and their products. So, I think that I've got notability covered now. But I am curious to get your take on what does and doesn't establish notability for companies.

Thank you so much for your contributions, and thanks in advance for your feedback! VoodooEconomics (talk) 18:04, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Notability (organizations and companies) might be interesting to you as you are considering my questions. It looks like there is a discussion about clarifying that each round of venture capitalism round is a "significant event". I know that this isn't approved policy yet, but I thought it worth noting. Looks like they were trying to get people to weigh in on the issue. Personally, I'm not sure that I agree that a round of VC is inherently significant, but coverage of multiple rounds from multiple sources does seem to me like it would be significant. And coverage by an independent analyst of a company going public does seem like it makes a company not just notable but noted. Just a thought as I'm exploring what makes companies "Notable". Thanks again for your time and helping me figure all of this out. I really appreciate your contributions! VoodooEconomics (talk) 18:59, 17 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Paul Fox (Singer)

    Hi SwisterTwister,

Thanks for reviewing my article: Draft:Paul_Fox_(Singer) The reason I am trying to submit this page firstly is because if you Google 'Paul Fox Reggae' the first result is a Wikipedia page about Paul Fox of the Ruts who died a few years ago. We have the same name and this means that many people think I am dead! I am working in the same section of the reggae scene as a number of other people who have Wikipedia pages and I used their pages as a guideline to what is required as they were obviously approved. Below are a couple of examples of Wikipedia pages which either have the same level of links regarding 'notability' or less (and in some cases no working reference links at all). Please could you let me know if they were approved why my page has not been approved. Vibronics Zion_Train

Hello! I do not understand the rejection for the article submitted on Prof. Olufemi Vaughn. You said, "This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage about the subject in reliable sources that are independent of the subject..." What references should the professor have? As for the latter question, not sure of the reliable sources independent of the subject? Do you mean, for example, a colleague not in African studies? A college president? Help:) Thanks! Hi there,

I would like to know how I could write this article in order to remain legal and have the quality required. In order to write it, I have read several articles in Wikipedia about similar booking platforms. I think my article is aligned with the articles I reviewed.

It is not the first time I am trying to submit this draft, and I don't know how to make it even more neutral. Before you answer, I have already read several "how to write an article in Wikipedia" kind of articles.

Last but not least, it's true that the article is based on other interviews, press releases, notices and so on. I would like to know which are the differences between the references of the article of booking.com (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Booking.com) and my article. In fact, these two are aligned in so many ways, not only references - although it's true that DreamCheaper is not as big as booking.com. Same happens with momondo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momondo) and Trivago (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trivago), and some other articles.

Could you please help me out here at writing this and get it published?

    Best regards, Pedro

I'm new to creating a new submission, but I'm confused as to why the submission was declined. Elie Abadie is not a professor, he is one of the world's most prominent Sefardi rabbis who was the head rabbi for years at one of NYC's most prominent synagogues. He was recently ousted in a very public and bitter split with the synagogue's main funder. He is also on the boards of several large Sefardi organizations and received the highest civil decoration from the King of Spain. The sources I used included the Forward and New York Post, which are prominent publications. What else can I do to make it better? Smntstatus (talk) 21:05, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How is a QUT press release as to the prestigious China Australia Award not reliable and independent? Also if you Google the subject's name along with MMLC (the law firm he works for and which I work for) or arbitrator, hundreds of articles, news items, scholarly works can be seen.

    21:26:04, 19 April 2017 review of submission by 123.126.249.170

I'm sorry. I do not understand your comments. And how about all of the World Bank, book articles, Uan reports referring to the subject, that you can see if you Google the subject name and the law firm he founded? Still not notable? Or the judgments he had issued in relation to many of the world's leading brands and companies, that haven written up. And widely reported - all can be seen on a quick search.

    21:34:59, 19 April 2017 review of submission by 123.126.249.170

I don't want to add in all of the books he has written, UN projects he has done and judgments he has issued as it would take months. It was also make this entry look very spammy indeed. However, simple searches reveal notability, without a shadow of a doubt.

Hello, you have declined this page... rightly as it stands... However, I had done a bit of tidying earlier and my last 3 edits seem to have been removed when you added the declinature notice. I found several interviews red carpet pictures and other media content. I believe i've shown that he has accomplished a lot and is a rising producer in the industry with a growing fan base. He wrote the scripts for biggest movies of the last few years and has been invited to work with bigger organisations like dreamworks on future movies. I believe this entitles him to some notability, I only say this because he wrote many of these scripts and for him to receive no credit is a little cruel, if not i can keep adding articles till you are satisfied just let me know, how many sources you think is reasonable. My new submission - Sullivan's Slide Rule: Approximating the Pythagorean Theorem - has been rejected due to a lack of references to prove notability. I do agree that this is a fair first assessment. However, in this case, I think my method's connection to the Pythagorean Theorem - probably, the most famous equation in the world - could substitute for this shortfall. The method I've devised is broadly applicable and deceivingly simple - you can do it "in your Head" (no squares or square roots).

Would it be possible to ask a reviewer with a mathematical background to spend just 2 minutes reviewing my YouTube video - A Pythagorean Shortcut? It's 12 minutes long but a review of the first 2 minutes by someone familiar with the theorem would be enough to assess its relationship and the notability, I believe, that affords.

I'll say Thanks, in advance, because I truly appreciate your time and effort with this.

As to the evidence (and ‘professor test’) given in the wiki link you kindly sent me, I noticed that this says that “Academics/professors meeting any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, are notable”. I wrote in italic the evidence that could be used to substantiate the case.

    1. The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources. [NUMEROUS PUBLICATIONS ATTEST TO THIS. MOREOVER SEVERAL PUBLICATIONS ARE ALREADY CITED IN WIKIPEDIA ARTICLES, E.G. NM’s BOOK ON MACKENZIE CITED IN WIKIPEDIA ENTRY ON MACKENZIE; NM’s BOOK ON IASOS CITED IN WIKIPEDIA ENTRY ON IASOS, ETC.]

    2. The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level. Received the Michael Ventris Memorial Award in 1991 (see page 14 of this document: https://www.sas.ac.uk/sites/default/files/files/Annual%20Reports/98-99_AnnualReport.pdf

    3. The person is or has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g., a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor (e.g., Fellow of the IEEE).[ 2] . NM was Elected Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London in 2003: see https://www.sal.org.uk/about-us/fellows-directory/M/page/11/

    4. The person's academic work has made a significant impact in the area of higher education, affecting a substantial number of academic institutions. NM has taught at Oxford, Bradford, and Bristol universities, at the latter for over 18 years. Has also been Visiting Professor at University of Milan. Has also been Senior Research Fellow at Cincinnati, Istanbul and Istituto per gli studi Egeo-Anatolici (CNR, Rome). In 2014 was recipient of one of the Bristol University Teaching Awards. Evidence for this: her university webpages and http://www.bristol.ac.uk/classics/news/2014/94.html

    5. The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon). [not applicable]

    6. The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society. 7. The person has had a substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity [NOT APPLICABLE].

    8. The person is or has been the head or chief editor of a major, well-established academic journal in their subject area. Hi, I'm Graeme Bartlett. SwisterTwister, thanks for creating F. Zabriskie!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Since the person belongs to AAAS a reference from there is not independent. We need independent references to show notability

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

    • The tag is not relevant because WP:PROF applies here, which is not exchangeable and the page is clear by "elected to a major society"; also, this person is from the last early-century and no other sourcing is available. SwisterTwister talk 00:13, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for your super quick review! impressive. Your comment is that I have not provided enough significant independent news, but my cited references are reviews, interviews and articles published by Stuff (the on-line website for the Dominion Post, New Zealands national newspaper), La Stampa (one of the most important national Italian newspapers akin to the NY Times, London Times, Sydney Morning Herald), the London Telegraph, international dance journals (Giornal della Danza and Dancelines), major on-line journal Teatro Critica and Radio New Zealand. The articles cited are all independent news items or interviews. When I compare the references to similar pages one in particular has only 5 citations with 3 being his employers website, a video on youtube and a single review. I really would appreciate some guidance as to why these are not recognised as significant independent news items.

    Thanks so much

You state that the article is simply a marketing stunt. You have accepted this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PaperCut which is an ordinary company completely without any uniqueness. Ubiquitech on the other hand can claim 3 areas of uniqueness (IBM mainframe compatibility, one-driver technology and secure public cloud technology). So, 1) if you have a mainframe computer and would like to have secure printing and never hear of Ubiquitech, then your are forced to buy Windows Server technology, 2) if you spend/waste hours and hours on numerous printer drivers you'll waste even more time and 3) if you would like to be more lean and utilize (cheap) public cloud technology, you will need to know of Ubiquitech.

Of course there is an overlap between the notability and Ubiquitech's commercial interest. But how can you avoid this? And are Google, Microsoft, IBM, Oracle etc. avoiding this?

Ubiquitech has some patents also unique and actually violated by nearly all competitors. Would it help to add these to the article?

You also write in your review: "sources are only announcements or notices". This please explain based on · Ref 1 is a general an independent article, setting the scene. · Refs no 2,4 and 5 are directed only to Ubiquitech and direct proof of text. · Ref 3, 6 are general relevant information. (My colleague posted this on my talk page, but I belive it is supposed to go here).

    Dear TwistedSister,

Thank you for taking the time to review our article and provide feedback.

With respect to your comment “Perhaps notable but will still need all available major significant sourcing.”, this is not a simple requirement since we are an organization that is strongly linked to the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) and as such, most of the sources are related to it. We have done our best to address your concerns, please see in particular the addition of the new section on the page “In the Press”.

We want to note that most of the articles that are published with regards to the Student Council are in the forms of results for our Conferences and Symposia as well as editorial articles regarding soft skills and different ways of outreaching bioinformatics for non-specialized scientific audiences. These articles have been published as peer-reviewed articles in some of the most important journals in the field like BMC Bioinformatics and PLoS Computational Biology. Being in these journals means that these articles have passed all the required filters that are necessary to be published as any other article submitted from other authors or organizations. In addition, The Student Council has also a channel in the F1000Research open access journal where two editorial articles are published yearly where annual activities from the organization can be summarized.

Given all the aforementioned reasons, we feel our organization not only is supported by the ISCB, our parent organization, but also by the editorial boards of all these scientific journals that have given us the space to publish our activities which are most of the times reviewed by external scientists and editors in the field.

Thank you again for your time and let us know if there are any other questions you have for me or any of the SC Leadership.

    Dear reviewers,

We are grateful for your comments and suggestions. We answer the following comment about the last edition about our article: Comment: Yes, I see but I will mention that (1) it would highly benefit from all additional news and (2) the Executive Team section must be removed as it's too guide-like. SwisterTwister talk 13:19, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

    1) As a scientific organization, we do not have interactions with the press, so news in the traditional channels are rare. Instead, our channels for communication are through scientific journals as the ones we included as references. All these articles are submitted to internationally recognized journals that are independent of our organization and evaluated by recognized experts and editors in the field before their publication. We have included more than 20 references to our projects and editorials that were published in some of the most recognized international journals from the field (Plos Computational Biology, BMC Bioinformatics, F1000Research), along the last decade as a collective effort from many different leaders around the world, that have run the Student Council, many of them being recognized scientists nowadays.

    2) We agree with the reviewer's comment and we have deleted the Executive Team section.

    Hi Swister,

Thanks for your feedback. To make a case for JetPrivilege I would like to let you know that it is the primary frequent flyer program of India's second largest airlinesJet Airways. It has also been covered on India's popular news websites such as Economic Times,Business Wire and also western media such as USA Today and many more websites. It is also a legitimate corporation and has its listing on many corporate directories. Are not the sources listed in the reference enough to establish notability? They have been retrieved from popular websites in India.

Also on the issue of advertising, I have referred to many frequent flyer pages present on Wikipedia such as EuroBonus,KrisFlyer,Velocity Frequent Flyer & MileagePlus. They too have included similar topics like history, partners, program changes that were negative to customers and a little information about the program structure.

It would be very helpful if you could guide me on where am I going wrong here and what changes to make in order to conform to Wikipedia's policies.

    Thanks in advance

Greetings. Thanks for reviewing my Frank Curzio post.

I am requesting a re-review because I simply confused. I'm mostly concerned with what links/ any specific sections do not fit the Wikipedia content criteria. I was told this post was simply a business, marketing incentivized post. However, I presented all of the information from credible links provided... along with no opinions whatsoever. Being the right hand man behind Jim Cramer (Host on the nationally televised and widely popular show - Mad Money), I figured Frank Curzio was credible enough to write about.

I understand that a few links may be un-credible, but can those be pointed out? From my understanding, the reviewer feel my entire post is from unreliable sources.

Storm of Sedition is also distributed by one of the most well known record labels in the underground punk scene, Profane Existence. So do I just need to add more references? As far as I can tell, they fit these guidelines:

"Musicians or ensembles (this category includes bands, singers, rappers, orchestras, DJs, musical theatre groups, instrumentalists, etc.) may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria.

Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself.[note 1] This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries[note 2] except for the following: Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising.[note 3] Works consisting merely of trivial coverage, such as articles that simply report performance dates, release information or track listings, or the publications of contact and booking details in directories. Articles in a school or university newspaper (or similar), in most cases."--Wuthepo34 (talk) 01:26, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

April 13 Review of Brain Chase Page

The page on Brain Chase that I made was rejected for not being notable. However, I referenced sources from New York times, Huffington Post, Fox News, and the Washington Times. These were not press releases, but articles written about the company. Any feedback on what kinds of sources would be considered 'notable' would be appreciated. Thanks! Jyanker (talk) 15:13, 26 April 2017 (UTC)jyanker[reply]

Thank you for your comment! I'm still not sure what is wrong with my sources though. They aren't press releases or announcements, and I have many independent articles from significant news sources such as The New York Times, Huffington Post, and The Washington Times that were written about Brain Chase. Just trying to understand so that I can make the article better :) Jyanker (talk) 14:56, 27 April 2017 (UTC)jyanker[reply]

Thanks for the feedback - how do I proceed?

Greetings!! Thank you for taking the time to review my draft. I'm at a bit of a loss on how to proceed; let me explain :)

Other trailer music companies with published wikipedia pages also lack the kind of 3rd party, in depth references that you recommended for GRNLR. They seem to rely on announcements, youtube links, and social media pages. For example:

GRNLR is as legitimately established in the Trailer Music industry as any of these companies, and I believe that anyone researching the topic would have a valid interest in at least seeing some kind of page on wikipedia. What is it about these other pages that passed the review stage?

Interestingly, there don't seem to be a lot of magazine, book, or newspaper articles on trailer music companies, generally. But these sort of music production entities have sufficient notability to merit an existence on wikipedia; how is this seeming paradox to be resolved?

Anyhow, thanks for your input, I appreciate it. Cheers, and all the best!

    Editing Help!

    Hello there! (:

I'm having a little trouble organizing my drafts. The pages that are now in play are these:

You mentioned on the User space article that the article "May actually be notable but we need a better focus in all additional major independent news." Could you please explain to me what you mean by that? Biochemistry&Love (talk) 20:54, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New page entitled - "European Mentoring and Coaching Council"

I have added many notability citations/references - could the page be moved from Draft status? Many thanks 185.62.85.43 (talk) 03:14, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your advice. Would it be more appropriate to focus on his research advancements and include references to publications advancing the field of radiation therapy, rather than primarily his business profile to avoid being considered a business profile? Although they are somewhat hand in hand.

    new page entitled Margaret Manion

I received your message sent 01:15, 15 April 2017 (UTC) that the article has been assessed as Start-Class with an improvement banner for the lead paragraph. I have now summarised Manion's positions and major publications in the lead. Would you please review the lead and let me know if it conforms. Thanks. new page entitled Draft:Taurob_tracker

Thank you for your suggestions! I have added several new sources. If you could take a second look it would be highly appreciated.

Hi, review requested as a fair amount of additional data has shown up in terms of accuracy and extent of references and type of references - e.g. published articles that were not per-se publicity. Also some substantive pre-digital references.

Problem is I - Michael Messenger, was deleted for interfering and clash of interest, but in discussion with sarahj2107, who actually performed the deletion, seem to have agreed that the article can be re-written and resubmitted. Problem is A) can I do that legitimately and B) if so how, on what page and in what way as I cant cope with the edited text style, and dont want to get the wrong side of 'you lot' again? Can it be done in plain text and where will I find that? How do I resubmit it for checking? Are you able to provide a dummy's link - go to X > click on Y > edit etc...?

    thanks Messengero (talk) 14:41, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

    Shortcut for adding BLP info

Hallo, I've just stub-sorted several articles you've recently created such as Robert Henricks.

Do you know the {{L}} template? You can type {{subst:L|1943||Henricks, Robert}} to create the birth category, death category or "Living people" (death date or "missing" goes in 2nd parameter) and DEFAULTSORT, all in one line of typing. I find it useful. I'd picked your stubs out to stub-sort as being ones which were currently filing wrongly in Category:Stubs. (eg Henricks under "R" for Robert). Dear Swister Twister,

Regarding our article about „Carl Fried“, we will send you a renewed version soon. It’s much shorter and focuses on his notability mainly in the field of radiotherapy. We would like to point out that it is a unusual situation due to the fact that many documents have been destroyed.

    Hi SisterTwister,

Thanks for the review and the edit of a new article on "David Morgan".

I have resubmitted with a few reviews of his very important textbook. finding 'notable sources' seems to be an arbitrary requirement from Wikipedia. Does the sheer volume of work this man has produced not make him notable in his own right? Thus, worthy of a Wiki page? Genuinely curious as to what constitutes a 'notable source' considering some of the Wiki pages I've read.

Thanks again, you guys do great work.

Hi - my post was denied because it has the same title as a different page on Wikipedia. They are both waterfalls, but the Big Rock Falls I posted is in North Carolina in the US and the Big Rock Falls provided as the same content is in Belize. So same name but different places.

Not necessarily requesting a re-review, but what's the "line" for whether or not someone is 'notable?' Hello! You're right I forgot two important bits!

    1) A New York Times article where the subject is interviewed. 2) A a counter-arguing publication, by an academic opponent (Friston), whose first line is literally "Optimal control theory is currently the dominant paradigm for understanding motor behavior in formal or computational terms.", i.e. he acknowledges the impact of the subject's theory.
