Thanks for replying re: IP blocking, I understand your predicament! --PopUpPirate 23:32, Feb 27, 2005 (UTC)

The index was deleted for bogus reasons.

Either the original index will be restored, or I will simply add a totally brand new index since Wikipedia policy, guidelines, and style guides state point blank that Lists are NOT redundant because of your stupid categories, that are just plain, wrong, incomplete, confusing, and next to impossible to use. Wikipedia, by current vfd on the Buddha Index is total farce.

I also have a private dictionary on alternative medicine on my website which happens to very be public. Wikipedia just likes to trash alternative medicine which happens to be used by half the planet while writing tons of trash articles like tampons. You people without a life don't even realize that dozens and dozens of web sites are selling advertisement on mirror copies of Wikipedia.

STOP trashing the perfectly valid topic of alternative medicine.

I want this index restored. -- John Gohde 06:53, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

PS: Even though the INDEX has been page protected the view source option was nice enough to actually give me the entire source in wiki format. Now, I wont have to write a program to convert the data. This data will make a good start on a lot bigger index of medicial topics. Just thought that you should know this so that all you little people can go on wasting more of your life making redirects and doing other stupid adminstrative stuff, while the bigger picture of destroying the project on alternative medicine goes on unchallenged, so that other business people can get rich off all the slaves at Wikipedia. -- John Gohde 07:49, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC)

You owe me a fresh keyboard and a nice hot cup of coffee

This popped up on my Watchlist and I experienced the nasal equivalent of a coffee enema. Please arrange to annotate your edit summaries to make it quite clear that you are quoting or naming something rather than being uncharacteristically abusive to someone (no matter how much they might deserve it…). Cheers wipingly, HAND --Phil | Talk 11:52, Feb 28, 2005 (UTC)

Hey, sorry i am kind of new to Wikipedia - anyways, you have deleted my Michael Dudikoff page because you said image was copyrighted?; info was actually written by me from several sources and image is not off the page you provided --Tigry 03:11, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

JW related pages & their deletion.

Rick, as the comments below and on Dan's page reveal, their may be a need on your part to step back and treat Dan according to the "Don't bite the newbies" policy. He is trying to help albeit incorrectly. You are beginning to step on "our" toes. We could use your help on our talk page before you mark our pages for deletion. We are very capable of requetsing deletion of our unneccesary pages as we develop our project. Thanks in advance for your input. george 23:43, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Don't post unencylopedic articles and they won't need to be listed on VfD. Just because you're in a "project" doesn't make your article sacrosanct. Sermons don't belong on Wikipedia. Neither do copyright violations. And dan w's attempt to claim that any copyright violation he posts is fair use is incorrect. RickK 23:47, Mar 2, 2005 (UTC)

I appreciate your constructive criticism. I know that dan made some mistakes. Since all of us are in a learning situation, I am asking that you be helpful to us by telling us what we need to delete. I think this conversation might make for a good discussion in the deletion policy. Wp is still fairly new and how we handle these things is still a work in progress as much as the content. george 00:18, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Dan, Let's take some time to step back. The deleting of pages is part of the process. Also, some time checking out the process of adding information to articles will reveal that you should not C&P copyrighted material of any sort. Also, on the JW article's talk archives you will find info about the use of the WT library. you should examine that as well. I am going to try soem intervention w/Rick as well. george 23:32, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Perhaps you could tell me to what you are referring?Dan w 07:21, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Perhaps you could try editing instead of simply deleting?Dan w 07:32, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I am fairly new to wiki, yet I understand that fair use may apply to my quoting directly from source to explain one of thier own publications. Please review the above fair use article before removing others contributions.Dan w 07:56, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Did you review the article on fair use? The size has little to do with it. I am quoting the source to expalin a book the source wrote. From the horse's mouth? Dan w 08:04, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Hello!

"Stalking"'s a strong and negatively charged word, but you are on my watchlist of users whose edits I like to check, if that's what you mean. The Recycling Troll 09:32, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments Rick, I'm sure you agree that this is a collaborative project, and that we can all use a little friendly support and oversight sometimes. I know I appreciate it when people correct my mistakes, Thanks, The Recycling Troll 10:47, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

A good question - in checking edits recently made, I often find that I have something to contribute to the article, even if it is a small spelling, wikification, or grammar correction. The process of collaborative editing brings many different sets of eyes to the problem, so reducing the likelihood that mistakes will remain. Thanks, The Recycling Troll 14:19, 3 Mar 2005 (UTC)

John Gohde

John Gohde has made no secret of the fact that he is MNH. He had a ban from the arbcom. The ban ended, and he came back. So he is now a user in good standing. Snowspinner 14:45, Mar 1, 2005 (UTC)

A note

Rick, I noticed you've voted both for and against point #10 on Talk:Gdansk/Vote#VOTE: Enforcement. Mackensen (talk) 22:06, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I have substantially cleaned up the Truelove Eyre article based on the references that User:DragonflySixtyseven found, and have removed the spurious claims about the Eyre Empire etc. I am changing my vote to keep: can I persuade you to do the same? Thanks! GeorgeStepanek\talk 01:41, 2 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I'm weeks behind the rest of the world

Hi Rick!

I miss out on so many goings-on now that I don't have as much time to spend on Wikipedia as I once did. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that if I'd been around and subscribed to the mailing list when you announced your departure, I'd have dropped you a line then to express my dismay: since I wasn't, I'm dropping you one now to say that I'm very glad that you got things sorted out with Jimbo, and that I'm delighted you're not gone! Cheers! —Stormie 11:03, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)

The return of sockpuppet(s)

I'm writing to you because of your comment regarding sockpuppet(s) in the Request for Comment on user:Stude62. I've been rereading through the Request for Comment - it just keeps getting more and more dysfunctional. The latest addition to the circus is by a new user:OWU07 ? and it caught my eye. His writing style, sentence structure, and everything in-between the lines reminds me of user:Rananim. However, his engagement in a process that has nothing to do with him reminds me of user:Patnaik's involvement in all of this. The one person who one would think would be involved with this is user:Rananim, but he isn't. He's too quiet; its not his style . His personality can't give up a fight and walk away without being the victor. He see's himeslf as being superior, yet he craves public recognition to prove it to others. I?m finding his absence from this fight very conspicuous. I find the validity of OWU07 and Patnaik dubious, at best. I think there are at least two sockpuppets involved, if not more. Need a reality check. Hope you can help. Jeri. Jrossman 18:46, Mar 4, 2005 (UTC)

Harvey Andrews cleanup

I removed the cleanup tag. Do you agree? Wikityke 22:43, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Kokoloko

This is why I hate vandals. Redirects of my user page to utter nonsense. Thanks again for the save, I wouldn't have known how to get out of that myself. -- Riffsyphon1024 09:57, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Israeli art students

Aloha. I was wondering if you could take a brief look at the history for Israeli art students. A single, solitary user posting under a dynamic IP address has reverted the page five times in 24 hours. I've already reverted three times. Thanks in advance for any help you could offer. I've left the same message on User talk:Curps page, as well. --Viriditas | Talk 23:19, 5 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I saw your note on that user's page. You were right to be suspicious. At least for African American history, he copied from Encarta. I listed the article as copyvio. I'm afraid other articles may also be affected. Rl 16:31, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Minaret of Jam

Hi RickK. Thx for your comment on Minaret of Jam, which was the first article I started from scratch. I assure you that I didn't copy what I've written, and added the source (see Talk page). Also took away the word "breathtaking". Do you have other concerns with the article? Just tell me and I'll modify it. If not, could the POV and cleanup tags be taken away? Thx in advance. -- Luis rib 19:07, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)

List of schools in the United States

I updated VfU summary on this article with these new points:

  • The main concern about the article was its title, but it was originally at the proper title and moved in November, 2004.
  • There are many redirects to that page and there is no way to trace them unless the page is undeleted.

Please review your vote, or at least provide a constructive way to adress these concerns, especially the last one. This is a stock message, but I replied to each voter individually on the VfU page. Thanks in advance. Grue 05:27, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)

add-tone

Before add tone header in my article, please discuss and justify your edition. I assume that you it knows the subject. Mateusc 23:25, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Unreasonable revert?

Was just wondering on your decision to revert my change to George W. Bush, where I changed "Hussein" to read "Saddam Hussein" as a user mentioned in the discussion, quite rightly:

I'd like to point out that it's wrong to address Saddam as "Mr. Hussein" or even "Hussein", because Hussein is not a family name. It's the first name of Saddam's dad. We are making a very common western error here, and I propose we correct it by changing the article to address him by first name.

From Intimidated

<Response, Bad Grammar, Fixed.>

<<Bah, now it's been reverted by Daniel Quinlan. I give up :) Thanks for your help though.>>

Soap article policy proposal

Since you edit soap articles, I figure you might be interested in the policy proposal I've brought up on the talk page for the Soap WikiProject. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to sign your name on the regular page, noting that you support the work in such a project. Mike H 09:46, Mar 9, 2005 (UTC)

Hello

Not many vandals like you- so us at www.wikisucks.com are going to vandalise your userpage. A suprise attack will take place anytime between March 10-11th. --Fatigue League 13:21, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Blocked this one infinite, all edits were vandalism. jni 14:02, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Considering that my User page is protected, I hope you and your little friends have fun trying to vandalize it. It wouldn't be the first time, either, so don't think you're anything special. RickK 21:53, Mar 9, 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, do I know you? Why are you harassing me? If you're trying to goad me into trolling you or calling names, you'll have to try harder.Dr Zen 05:47, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Oh, boo hoo. You are aggressive. It's a statement of fact, not a nasty thing to call you. You wrote an aggressive, annoying comment on my talkpage. QEFD, dude. You're also a deletionist. That's just a matter of philosophy. I said I didn't resent you for it. I don't have any problem with it.

Look, we could have a big discussion about how it's not nice to tell the truth about you and I should just never comment about you anywhere, while you feel free to badmouth whoever you like wherever you like, or you could forget it and move on. I said my piece. I don't think RT should be banned for "stalking" you. You should have just ignored him. It's for your conscience why you didn't, and your friends can search theirs to work out why they think spending hours on such bullshit makes this a better encyclopaedia.

And BTW, I've been absent, RickK. Had enough of the bullshit and took a break. You know how it is. I've only just come back. That's why the lapse. I did a little on another account. Perhaps I should check your contributions and find myself some other things to work on? Dr Zen 06:00, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
