==Grouch Club==
My comment regarding the deletion of the Groucho Club (a well-known London establishment of some note) was not a personal attack, and I can't beleive anyone would think it was a personal attack (BTW that is not a personal attack either), and nor is the comment in brackets [ad infinitum]. List of magicians

Even though the anon was a known vandal, I've checked and it looks like his edits were accurate. I'll reinstate the changes. Thanks for the concern and the quick reply. :) - MGM 18:43, May 5, 2004 (UTC)

Notes to Anons

Your note at User talk:144.137.43.252 seems just a trifle harsh- the edit I've seen by the user was pretty much a simple test (appending random letters). Have you considered a {{subst:test}} instead, for first warnings? - Fennec 03:48, May 6, 2004 (UTC)

Well, I appreciate that you have no time for vandals (who does?) but I'd reserve the term for people who do stuff like replace the text with a rant, or do repeated additions, or stuff like that. Do you have time for new users who cannot immediately fathom the depths of wiki? :) I feel it's important to link people like that to the Sandbox, myself. - Fennec 03:52, May 6, 2004 (UTC)
Another consideration. What do you think of Mediawiki:test2, Mediawiki:test3, Mediawiki:test4? :) -Fennec 01:33, May 12, 2004 (UTC)

Reps from District of Columbia

Do you think US Congress Representatives from District of Columbia and Delegates to the United States House of Representatives from the District of Columbia are both needed? I ran across the one you started today, and wonder whether these overlap too much. - Kevin Saff 18:44, 7 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if you know something about it, I'll let you deal with it. I'm not comfortable enough with the terminology to take responsibility for such a change. Only please do merge the test from the deleted article if you think any of it is relevant. Kevin Saff 21:33, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Our Favorite Xena Vandal

Our favorite Xena vandal is back - three new articles posted today, and two articles edited to remove substantive content. Figured you'd want to know, since you made your intent to delete and ban clear. Snowspinner 23:06, 7 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

RickK: The other links in "see also" on the soldiers pages who were accused of torture did not violate POV becuase they specifically deal with what the soldiers are accused of doing. --VTEX 02:05, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

All upper-case title

Hi, regarding your comments on all uper cased title, I did it on purpose because the artist named her specific album(s) and songs by all upper case letters. Also there exist some songs written by all lower case letters. Regards --Nuuk 04:50, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Bush quotes

I notice you're still about. I have said on the Talk page that I think you cannot say "full stop" as you have. Out of politeness I was waiting for your reply(ies) before re-inserting the Bush quotes you disapprove of. Paul Beardsell 05:13, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

I have already said all I have to say on the subject. RickK 05:15, 9 May 2004 (UTC) [reply]

Well, would you mind being so kind as to say so to Mike, where he (and I, perhaps less effectively) has been trying to address your points.? Paul Beardsell 05:17, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Ha ha. Is what you have said on the subject your opinion as a Wikipedian or your ruling as a sysop. If you neglect to say reasonably promptly I will assume the former. Paul Beardsell 05:22, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

It has nothing to do with my being a sysop. RickK 05:24, 9 May 2004 (UTC) [reply]

Thank you. Paul Beardsell 05:30, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Removing comments

I just feel very uncomfortable with you removing the comments of a user who is accusing admins of being in a cabal. You look like you are playing into thier hands. It seems to me that a better approach would be to add a note on the page saying that this user is clearly a sockpuppet and leave it at that. theresa knott 08:47, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

81.99.250.101

Hi Rick. This anon user seems to have a fixation on Orri Freyr Oskarsson, who it appears really does exist, but is a player for obscure Icelandic football club Thor Akureyri... but in the popular "Championship Manager" computer game he's apparently an extremely useful player! A quick google reveals that most reference are to "CM" players forums... Thanks for reverting one of the last edits. -- Arwel 23:09, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't move pages without discussing it first on the talk page. Nohat 23:11, 2004 May 9 (UTC)

You might consider your own actions. I have reverted, and will do it again. RickK 23:12, 9 May 2004 (UTC) [reply]

Is there some kind of talk page where I could learn why you deleted New York, New York? That would seem to me like exactly what a redirect was made for--plenty of people might type that in. Meelar 01:35, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

I help maintain the page I copied from to make my article about Quigley Catholic High School. I don't appreciate having my work deleted without being notified first. Seeing how friendly Wikipedia users are, I think I just might refrain from registering or contributing in the future. --205.201.40.200 03:35, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't change the street names. I just replaced the French word "rue" with the English word "Street" (or "chemin" with "Road"). This is standard English usage. - 69.157.181.136

Internal Links

Hi Rick, You added double square brackets for internal links to the place of birth and death respectively which I had added to the article about Jakob Heine. Does that mean that Wikipedia en expects the small German places Lauterbach and Cannstatt to be entered? Hans555 06:53, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Possible copyvio

Hi Rick, I noticed that you marked Business Analyst as a copyvio by User:199.67.140.20. I just now happened upon Business analysis by the same user. I suspect a copyvio here as well but have no evidence, and the article's contents don't appear in a Google search. What would you suggest here? Best, Diberri | Talk 08:30, May 10, 2004 (UTC)

Rick could you please take action against 65.73.0.137 - who has deleted information from The Powerpuff Girls and related pages (Elizabeth Daily) to fit his/her POV (look at his edit summarys) and fix the damage. PMA 18:18, May 10, 2004 (UTC)

more on New York City

Hi Rick

I value your contributions here highly especially in the trollfighting arena, where I see them the most. I think you have the right attitude regarding the trolls.

I must take exception however to the MeatBall:ForestFire you have started regarding User:Nohat's page move of the NYC page. I don't have an opinion on what that page should be called, but I'm displeased to see two veteran contributors like you and Nohat going at it this way. Listing Nohat on Wikipedia:Requests for review of admin actions and then spilling the whole mess over on the mailing list... You may be right, I don't know, but is it worth it? Better to keep the issue on the talk page, and enlist the aid of others to move the page back.

I have moved some of the conversation back to the article talk page in an effort to tidy up. UninvitedCompany 19:19, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

He deleted an extral link to a PPG fansite due to his POV that the show is "deeply unpopular" PMA 01:15, May 11, 2004 (UTC)

RickK, why revert my changes to "Elizabeth Daily"? I have given my noble excuse. Please explain your cause for action. Is it for the satisfaction of some selfish guy who wants his own "POV"? If you don't answer by tomorrow, I may consider reverting your changes. --65.73.0.137

Rickk I don't know whats going on with the anon, frankly I'm too dam busy trying to figure out what spade is doing to analyze him/her. But I have not made the accusation since you have pointed it out. I am not sure how this applies to me and Sam's situation (especially considering it happened awhile back before I even knew spade).

I also renounce my behavior as you were correct I did not have any proof to substantiate the accusation. sorry. GrazingshipIV 01:22, May 13, 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for your statement on RFC. I hope to prove that I am a valuable user to you by making good edits and respecting wikipedia users who deserve it (everyone but the trolls). thank you. GrazingshipIV 02:07, May 14, 2004 (UTC)

Message from Plato

Sorry Rick for trolling you in the past I'll confess I am a troll, but hey it's hard to reform! :0). I am making meaningful contibutions to this project. I am also trying to maintain my NPOV (being that i am both socialist and an Italian Monarchist). I really am sorry for misbehaving on this project my self. (note: my Shink told me i got to work with guys because my depression is getting slowly worse). Comrade Nick@)---^--.

Can You Help Me

I put my Request for a name change without loosing my watchlist but have got no response. Please help the process of changing it.Thanks---Rick K. 01:34, 14 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

You're not going to believe this, but...

Several Wikipedians have been having so many fights with User 65.73.0.137 about the President articles. What can we do?? 66.245.117.53 23:16, 15 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Do not listen to User 66.245.117.53. He doesn't know everything about my plans and my intentions of doing it.

Please answer!

Do you think that User 65.73.0.137 is doing a good thing or a bad thing?? 66.245.117.53 23:34, 15 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Now the fight is over.

User 65.73.0.137 has been blocked by User 172. Now this fight is over. 66.245.117.53 23:38, 15 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you...

...for moving Saint Louis, Missouri back where it belongs. 66.245.117.53 00:27, 16 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Where it belongs is at St. Louis. You can rationalize enforced unnecessary disambiguation of US and Canadian cities (and no other cities) all you want but you can't make it conform to general Wikipedia policy because it doesn't. Bluelion 00:59, 16 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning the Deletion of Potential Articles from the Entry EarthBound

I certainly didn't delete any to-article links. In fact, I added them after someone else dleted them. --SMWhat 17:50, 16 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Shawn Mikula

One of Mikula's sock puppets is listing all the articles that User:Blankfaze has worked on as a form of retrobution. I didn't look through them all but the one's I did look through are obviosly encyclopedia worthy. I don't feel comfortable blanking another persons vfd but they obviosly aren't serious canidates. You're an administrator, could you please do something, this is rather riddiculous. --Starx 20:13, 16 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I suppose. It just seems to be rather childish and unfair. --Starx 20:18, 16 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

[1] It appears that User:Texture and User:Hadal are reverting them. --Starx 20:21, 16 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Please give users a warning before you block them. You blocked Xxos permanently without any message on his talk page. I've unblocked him so he can at least present his defense of the article you are deleting. You might want to see his comment about it on Wikien-l if you haven't already. Angela. 00:37, May 17, 2004 (UTC)

Also, Rick, Xxos wasn't the only one affected. I got blocked - twice in under 12 hours - as my IP address is apparently the same as this user's. I tried to contact you, but your e-mail wasn't working and being blocked, I couldn't edit your talk page. I am definitely not the same person as Xxos, but your blocking of him knocked me out of the ring also. (Each time, Angela graciously bailed me out). I do hope a way can be found to resolve this - there must be some way to block a troublemaker without affecting others like that.David Cannon 03:11, 17 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Europe

Sorry about the 'Nations of Europe' page. I was intending to expand it much further, and assumed I had made an error when i saw it had been redirected. This is why i rebuilt the page, not realising you had decided it not necessary!

Matt :)

Sorry, I hadn't realised he had been told. Where was he told? There is nothing on User talk:Xxos. Angela. 06:47, May 17, 2004 (UTC)
