In writing the article are intention was to make the article as neutral as possible and not to sound promotional or advertise. In other words, we were trying to write an encyclopedia article, not an advertisement.

Shortly after publishing an article a Wikipedia contributor by the name of "menaechmi [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Menaechmi#Thanks_and_help_with_Engage:BDR] placed an advertisement banner on the article. I made some revisions to the article and then contacted "menaechmi" on her Wikipedia talk page [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Menaechmi#Thanks_and_help_with_Engage:BDR] for further advice. "menaechmi" was most helpful in helping me with the article by correcting the title of the page and pointed to certain aspects of the article which could be viewed as promotional. menaechmi then put another banner up on engage:BDR's talk page indicating she thought the article was within the scope of Wikipedia internet as well as one other. Before I was able to make any changes to the article it was marked for speedy deletion and then deleted. The reason stated was not an issue with the notability of the subject but with the tone of the article something that I was actively working with another Wikipedia writer to address. I find this lack of time to address issues with the article unfair.

We are willing to make the revisions necessary so the article does not sound promotional or like an advertisement. But would like you to be more specific on what changes are needed. We are more than certain that engage:BDR meets the criteria for an encyclopedia article for engage:BDR has evolved from a small ad exchange company to a company that has revolutionized the advertising industry. We have drastically changed not only how ads are developed and placed but how they interact with the target audience. Automatic Learning Growth

Hello, could I please come to know the reason for deletion of the page named as Automatic Learning Growth? In my aspect, I guess I didn't promote a particular subject rather mentioned the importance of learning a language. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akshaya21 (talk • contribs)

Thank you

Thanks you for deleting the redirects left behind page moves. Some articles were worthy of being kept (I've checked if there is enough coverage to establish their notability) but not in the mainspace some being totally unsourced. Should I refrain from moving pages if it's the case? Although I believe I'm doing the right thing, I could use a second opinion. — Robert G. (talk) 14:46, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Very much the right thing. Keep up the good work. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:45, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

Draft:Tejinder Sekhon

Hi. You deleted my page Draft:Tejinder Sekhon. I received a notification saying it's been rejected for advertisement, but I honestly do not get why that's the case. It was purely a bio about Tejinder and his achievements. Tejinder is my client, so I submitted the article on his behalf. Can I also please get a copy of the deleted article please, as I spent quite a bit of time trying to format it. Thanks. Vikrantsinghuk (talk) 17:56, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI thinks your client is notable and writes about him here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:45, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

I'm sorry if I've offended. Nobody told me there were rules and a need of decency to contribute, I simply contributed as an associate and friend of Tejinder's. How notable does one have to be to earn a Wiki article? Steve Jobs level, or is there hope for those that are less known? — Vikrantsinghuk (talk) 21:59, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

  • There is hope. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:41, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Abdullah Al-Salloum

Hello, RHaworth. This AfD has been open for more than two weeks and re-listed twice. Looking at the discussion and the last re-listing comment; would you – please – consider WP:WDAFD or perhaps help examine sources and evaluate notability; assisting to expose what's required to get this article rescued? Thank you. --Aaehasa (talk) 11:45, 2 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Why on earth should I withdraw the AfD? The page looks to me like vanity. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:41, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Because, at first, your concern was "Lack of evidence of notability in English." and AfD's discussion made it clear. However, since your concern has changed, can you advise on how to present the facts given in sources without making the article look like vanity? I can work with your sufficient quick/simple tricks and tips. Thank you. --Aaehasa (talk) 19:43, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

  • If the current AfD closes with delete, then simply wait until an editor with a longer and more diverse contributions history thinks this guy is notable and writes about him here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:40, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Wise response Roger. I would not care if it is deleted, I would care more if could rescue it, and I thought you'd be helpful making me that guy who would get the credit for rescuing something in here and builds his own diverse contributions history. Thank you anyway. :-) --Aaehasa (talk) 23:04, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

GarageGeeks

Hi Roger, Could you elaborate on your speedy deletion of the article recently created for GarageGeeks - a world recognized non-profit in the technology/innovation/entrepreneurship space? I claim that this organization easily passes the 'credible claim of significance or importance' based on the material I provided in the talk page.

Based on this page Wikipedia:Common claims of significance or importance the GarageGeeks qualifies on multiple basis:

  • "Has a notable founder or president" - Yossi Vardi is a founding member.
  • "Attended by multiple notable people, groups, bands etc" - Here is Sergey Brin, founder of Google, being introduced by Yossi Vardi (see above) at the GarageGeeks - [1]
  • "Attended by multiple notable people, groups, bands etc" - Here is Jimmy Wales, the founder of WikiMedia being interviewed by Yossi Vardi at GarageGeeks - [2]

As you can see the GarageGeeks satisfies multiple claims of significance and importance' and as such I believe your speedy deletion is in error. Please Advise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ohadpr (talk • contribs)

How is notability related? I am commenting on your speedy deletion and how I believe this page does not qualify to get speedy deleted because as demonstrated in my comments above it meets the requirements of 'Common claims of significance or importance'.

If you'd like to insist on notability of GarageGeeks, which does not seem to be a requirement for deleting under 'speedy deletion', here is a demonstration of notability for GarageGeeks.

  • Is it significant: Yes, the entire video piece is about GarageGeeks.
  • Is it reliable: Yes, this is one of the world's most renowned tech journalists working for the WSJ
  • Is it independent of the subject: Yes, this is the WSJ's website.

Dream Bags

Why did you enter Dream Bags for speedy deletion? I have contested the speedy deletion, but apparently to no avail as you have just deleted it anyway without any further discussion. Feeling like a dictator, are you? -- dusoft (talk) 14:03, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Curve (company)

Hi @RHaworth:, you removed the draft page for Draft:Curve (company) draft page which was tagged for speedy deletion - because it was not correctly tagged with a paid disculosure (the company is my employer, although the article was neutral and well cited - far more so than a number of other company pages currently live). Would it be possible to reinstate the draft, so I can correctly add the paid-disclosure tag? Please also help/advise on which of the content was not neutral, and I will be happy to amend. Thanks in advance for your help. -- Cgm101 (talk) 14:45, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Want to rewrite a deleted page

You deleted my page for "advertising" and I get that, my bad. I would like the opportunity to rewrite and or reword the article so as not to be like and advertisement. So what articles do I need to read to do this or what do I need to do? Thanks. HorrorPackFan (talk) 15:02, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Certainly the style of your article suggested that you have not looked at any other Wikipedia articles. So look at and study articles about services similar to yours. And then go away and wait for someone with no CoI to write it up for you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:40, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Restoration of article, title 'Déanism'

Dear Sir, In the interest of avoiding a repost, I respectfully request the text of the page Wikipedia claims you originally submitted for deletion, titled, Déanism. If this page was on the feminine-essentialist religion that originated in the late 1960's in England, then that is the correct page, and I would appreciate viewing the text of it. If not, or if the page was merely started and never added to beyond a title, I apologize for bothering you and will create a new page. Thank you. Minnaloushe4444 (talk) 20:45, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

Howard Hinton

Dear RHaworth I have just returned to my draft article on Howard Hinton after many weeks to find you deleted it. I am an unpractised beginner in Wikipedia and have great trouble remembering formatting code and protocols. The article was deleted because I quoted a sentence from an online source, which I cited in a footnote. Coming from an old research background I thought quoting and citing was appropriate. My mistake. However, I put dozens of hours into the Hinton article reading widely in books, journals and online, and your deletion has wiped it all away. Several of those print sources have been returned to the library and another owner. When the notice about speedy deletion was posted I removed the offending sentence and the citation, and thought this would prevent deletion, but not so. I'm afraid I didn't keep a separate file. Can you please give me access to the text. I hope to complete the article on this very worthy subject (witness his inclusion in the Australian Dictionary of Biography). I now know the policy on direct quoting. Thank you. Dirrigeree (talk) 01:52, 6 September 2017 (UTC)

Thanks. I have since read wikilinks policy, I'm sure I'll be able to comply, and have set my preferences to "enable e-mail from other users". Please do not delete templates like Template:Italian-short-film-stub under WP:CSD#T2 unless that criterion (summarised as "Misrepresentation of policy") really does apply. Babloo Prithiveeraj

Hi there,

I feel the 2017 deletion of the article Babloo Prithiveeraj was almost done without considering the mass changes between it and the 2015 version. The actor is well known, in both the film and television circuit across South India, and has enjoyed recognition for over 25 years. Through my experiences and knowledge of Tamil cinema, he is probably the most high profile personality remaining without a Wikipedia page. It's actually a bit strange to see no page for someone with a career as distinguished as his. Please could you allow the page to be recreated / unblocked. Thank you. If i had not done something correctly it's because i'm just learning how Not sure i'm finding this a terribly friebndly community either to be perfectly honest But hopefully i'm right that it was you who deleted it, and even though i don't know the link (it was in my sandbox that's all i know and i submitted it for review then spent then til now clicking so many areas.. if you can find it please please return it to me So seriously if i make an error it just gets thrown out? could you advise me on how to be successful? — Janeykeithy (talk) 07:03, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
