Revision as of 02:56, 13 June 2022

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Good Faith

It is not a good idea to revert someone's edit done in good faith and as per source. You could have just changed the numbers without reverting. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:28, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Fylindfotberserk:, user Sapian sam seems to have removed the recent source i linked in the page and just made an estimation and added old sources and you reverted that saying no source says that figure. - Panda619 (talk) 16:31, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Flagicons

Hi Panda, I won't fight you on this particular reversion, but per WP:ICONDECORATION, "Icons should serve an encyclopedic purpose and not merely be decorative. They should provide additional useful information on the article subject, serve as visual cues that aid the reader's comprehension, or improve navigation." I don't see what extra information is being delivered about "highest-grossing films in India" that couldn't be expressed in prose. And the existence of these icons in other articles doesn't mean that the icons were arrived at through consensus discussion, or that anyone decided through reasoning that they would improve the articles they appeared in. In the context of Indian films, they tend to draw focus to the importance of Indian films rather than allowing the data to speak for itself. That would seem to place undue emphasis on Indian native films. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:41, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyphoidbomb: I thought instead of a column saying India repeatedly, It would be better to express it with 3 flag icons, that these films are not made in India, which can improve navigation. --Panda619 (talk) 04:51, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Magadheera collections

It seems you acted based on WP:FRUIT; if the source (Andhra Box Office and way2movies) of the evidence or evidence itself is tainted, then anything gained (the IB times and TOI articles) from it is tainted as well. Would this be a better source for the collections of Magadheera? It doesn't seem to trace back to any non-RS. --Kailash29792 (talk) 04:50, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Criteria for political endorsements

Hi Panda619. Please be aware that any political endorsements must meet all three of these criteria:

  1. The endorser must have an article or be unquestionably entitled to one
  2. This endorsement must be covered by reliable and independent sources
  3. Coverage of the endorsement needs to use the word endorse, or other closely related synonym.

This is covered by the consensus at WP:ERFC.

For that reason, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, poker websites, and blogs are not acceptable sources. Also, donating to a campaign or showing up to a campaign rally are not endorsements. Please let me know if you have any questions. - MrX 🖋 16:10, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Panda619. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of highest-grossing Tamil films".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! AngusWOOF (barksniff) 16:00, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Video games in India article

Why shouldn't the article be named as Video Gaming in India? Video games in India is such a stupid name moreover it's grammatically incorrect. Besides other articles regarding video games are named as "Video Gaming in" followed by the country name. Is naming the article as Video Gaming in India gonna create any problems that I'm not aware of? Ek1607 (talk) 15:34, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ek1607: It's not grammatically incorrect and "Video gaming" is not commonly used term, the common ones are "Video games" or just "Gaming", commonly I mean the terms used in sources and news articles, so as per WP:COMMONNAME, It is better to use "Video games in India" than "Video Gaming in India" and the article not only talks about gaming, It also talks about things like the industry (production, sales) and other articles also use just "Video games" here some

Here's a source which could potentially be incorporated into the future Hasan Piker article @Panda619: TovarishhUlyanov (talk) 03:09, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I have already added that source in the draft and at this point this article is notable enough and should be published but yeah, I guess we gotta expand more and go into details like his political views and discuss with that admin who reverted the article about what else should be improved. A tag has been placed on Category:Upcoming video games related to anime and manga indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". DraftJacob Romero Gibson moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, DraftJacob Romero Gibson, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. I'm sorry but it is not enough to insinuate reasons in an unclear edit summary. Please take your concerns to the article's talk page and garner consensus for your edit. The text clearly says he borrowed ideas from Bolshevism and Anarchism. A 21-year-old can't really be much of a socialist. He might have had aspirations once he did some reading in jail.
