Re: Winkler. Between the "sounding a pedant" part and you're coming back with a second round of new concerns, the process felt dispiriting -- brownies aside. It's not that your concerns weren't valid or that they didn't improve the article. To me, the process grew quibbly and finicky -- rather than focused. And you seemed happy to move the finish line around at your own pleasure. You could have copied the Brunswick reference later in the article up to where you wanted it in a fraction of the time it took to communicate what you wanted me to do. I figured it wasn't the most encouraging thing you've done, but I hope you can see where I am coming from. I have had a couple of poor articles of mine on the main page, and it's not an experience to try again. The reason I didn't copy the ref (I normally would if I could) was partially that I forgot, and partially that I didn't feel it needed the ref there if it was sourced later. Providing a single round of comments can be pointless, I can spend a fair amount of time pointing out issues, and the nominator will simply do nothing (see Template:Did you know nominations/Everything is Awesome, I gave a comment regarding size, which was ignored). I am very sorry for making it hard for you, and hope you come back to nominate more articles, and don't mind me reviewing other nominations of yours in the future. On the template, there are the headings 'Live views' and 'Daily totals'. Live views gives slightly more, and enables you to see on the day of request, whilst daily totals is the one used in Stats and is only available the day after. Thanks, Matty.007 13:18, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I can get access to several newspapers via (one) of my library cards - is this the info you were looking for on Johnnie Boden?

"Rich list" from the Sunday Times, 21 April 2013:

Don't know if this might help as well:

Seems to be he was number 368 on the list (of 1000 richest people) in 2013 and was worth a total of £320 million; In 2012 he was number 255 and total worth was also £320 million.

It's a bit difficult to work out with all the screeds of names and figures. Maybe this quote from Butler, Sarah. The Observer [London (UK)] 26 May 2013 might help clarify:

In the UK, sales growth has slowed as even Boden's relatively well-off shoppers, with a typical household income of pounds 70,000, are feeling the economic strain. The company has responded by cutting the price of its cheapest items, such as T-shirts, by about 20% and improving services such as delivery. Boden admits: "This year has not been as great as it should have been." Profits fell 45% to pounds 17.9m on sales of pounds 245.9m in 2011 - the latest figures - amid tough conditions and a big increase in the price of cotton, which is widely used in Boden clothes. But growth abroad and lower cotton prices lifted profits again last year, although the company will not reveal by how much. Boden, who is estimated to be sitting on a pounds 320m fortune according to the Sunday Times rich list, says he has no plans to sell his 60% stake (the rest is owned by former and current staff) or seek outside investment and wants to stay involved in the business "for as long as I'm good at it".

Thanks - what I'm trying to do (in case you haven't guessed!) is sort out Hafs DYK checker and I've also found a short script to try and help him add refs. Crisco added the DYK checker to Hafs vector.js but Hafs says it's not showing in the toolbar. So I wonder if he's still in MonoBook or some such. • Check your inbox and let me know what it's come out like? The £320 million is the total of £215 million plus the £105 million - I'm still trying to work out what the two figures indicate (maybe personal wealth for one and ??? for the other). Hi Matty, I've been pottering with a few parasport articles. One is the recent 2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships, which I started on the 8th, and saw 14 out of the 20 winning medalists set world records. I think it has enough text in it to pass DYK, but I can always increase it if you think it needs more puff. Adding an (unsourced) UFO sighting, and at the same time deleting vital information for that article is never a good idea. If there are reliable sources about the event, you may be able to create an article along the lines of United Kingdom (UFO sighting), if United Kingdom was the name of the location of the sighting. Just to note, words like "massive", especially in this context when no witness count is given could be considered peacock like language. I need your assistance with the Bartholomew Bretherton (jockey) page. I've added some more information to this page regarding the "1836 Grand Liverpool Steeplechase". I haven't done a QPQ on that for a reason: there are a few tags in the Ancestry table I am trying to resolve/discuss with another editor, so was discouraging people from reviewing it (the Grand National one was laziness I'm afraid, though I am doing a review now to make up for it). Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's Adam Cuerden (submissions) was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In March/April, he restored star charts from Urania's Mirror, lithographs of various warships (such as SMS Gefion) and assorted other historical media. Second overall was Pool E's Godot13 (submissions), whose featured list Silver certificate (United States) contains dozens of scans of banknotes recently promoted to featured picture status. Third was Pool G's ChrisGualtieri (submissions) who has produced a large number of good articles, many, including Falkner Island, on Connecticut-related topics. Other successful participants included Cliftonian (submissions), who saw three articles (including the top-importance Ian Smith) through featured article candidacies, and Caponer (submissions), who saw three lists (including the beautifully-illustrated list of plantations in West Virginia) through featured list candidacies. High-importance good articles promoted this round include narwhal from Reid,iain james (submissions), tiger from Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and The Lion King from Igordebraga (submissions). We also saw our first featured topic points of the competition, awarded to Czar (submissions) and Red Phoenix (submissions) for their work on the Sega Genesis topic. No points have been claimed so far for good topics or featured portals.

192 was our lowest qualifying score, again showing that this WikiCup is the most competitive ever. In previous years, 123 (2013), 65 (2012), 41 (2011) or 100 (2010) secured a place in Round 3. Pool H was the strongest performer, with all but one of its members advancing, while only the two highest scorers in Pools G and F advanced. At the end of June, 16 users will advance into the semi-finals. Hi Matty, I hadn't realised that the WikiCup was awarding points for ITN nominations. Perhaps that's why you've started making so many nominations, most without articles. I had just found my way there naturally, believe it or not! The reason I have been nominating without articles is that I want to be sure the thing is notable, I don't massively want to spend one hour writing an article, for it to not meet GNG. I generally can tell, but I find news stories more contentious on notability. Given how spread out the incidents are, I'm not sure there is much we can do. If there are 5 or so vandalisms in a month I think they can be blocked (warning templates are used 5 times), but admins may block for less than that. Hi,

Thanks for creating Template:2014–15 Premier League table. However there are multiple issues with the template and reasons why it has not been created yet.

First of all there is consensus at WT:FOOTY to remove the years name it only "Premier League table" so we can use same template season after season without creating new one s every season. Just substitute the template on the pages it is used and then reset it with new teams.

Secondly this templates use helper templates such as template:PL13 which is used and you have added that template (for last season) even in this new template. This template is also to be removed (perhaps never used again)

Thirdly the template:fb cl team is supposed to be replaced by template:fb cl2 team by WT:FOOTY consensus and a TfD.

Finally the template has had a lot of problems with editors not updating the helper template so there has been a new version created without helper template that is being considered being used instead.

Just letting you know so that you dont get surprised if the template gets a major overhauling or even gets deleted (via TfD). QED237 (talk) 16:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, it is a bit complicated. Have to eat now but I will provide the links later. The table will work now as long as it stays on only the PL article and not spread to the team articles. In general there is consensus to use these templates, but they are in development phase and there are new solutions popping up once in a while,that has not gone through WT:FOOTY.
