Re: Winkler. Between the "sounding a pedant" part and you're coming back with a second round of new concerns, the process felt dispiriting -- brownies aside. It's not that your concerns weren't valid or that they didn't improve the article. To me, the process grew quibbly and finicky -- rather than focused. And you seemed happy to move the finish line around at your own pleasure. You could have copied the Brunswick reference later in the article up to where you wanted it in a fraction of the time it took to communicate what you wanted me to do. :I figured it wasn't the most encouraging thing you've done, but I hope you can see where I am coming from. I have had a couple of poor articles of mine on the main page, and it's not an experience to try again. The reason I didn't copy the ref (I normally would if I could) was partially that I forgot, and partially that I didn't feel it needed the ref there if it was sourced later. Providing a single round of comments can be pointless, I can spend a fair amount of time pointing out issues, and the nominator will simply do nothing (see [[Template:Did you know nominations/Everything is Awesome]], I gave a comment regarding size, which was ignored). Hi Matty, I've been pottering with a few parasport articles. One is the recent [[2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships]], which I started on the 8th, and saw 14 out of the 20 winning medalists set world records. I think it has enough text in it to pass DYK, but I can always increase it if you think it needs more puff. While today's London Marathon winning men's wheelchair racer [[Marcel Hug]], now has an article more befitting an athlete of his prominence. I've added some more information to this page regarding the "1836 Grand Liverpool Steeplechase". Having reread it, I feel that I have put it in the wrong place. I don't think it belongs under the heading FAMILY. Perhaps I should have entered a new section "BIOGRAPHY" above and put it there. However, having had problems with formatting previously, I am scared to try to enter anything else and put in any spaces in case the same thing happens. What do you think? Round 3 of the 2014 WikiCup has just begun; 32 competitors remain. Pool G's {{Wikipedia:WikiCup/Participant5|Adam Cuerden}} was Round 2's highest scorer, with a large number of featured picture credits. In accordance with our policy that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia [[WP:mainspace|mainspace]], the draft has been nominated for deletion. ::::Basically for a few months ago the idea of using a template for league tables was brought in to wikipedia since many/all league article and also the clubs individual article, have the table but many were not updated for weeks. A central template could then be updated by a single editor and then table on all pages was updated and correct (instead of being old an inncorect)

::::The problem was to show only a few teams on the club pages (only interesting to show the closest placed teams) and not all teams as we do on main league article, and also how to determine what teams to show. The solution can be seen in [[Template:2013–14 Premier League table]] and helper template [[template:PL13]] to keep track of positions (redirect to [[Template:2013–14 Premier League table/p]]). In the main league template there are switches to determine what rows to be displayed. So in the article for sixth placed team we have switch for this row to be shown on article for 4th,5th,6th,7th and 8th. This makes sure that we show 5 teams on all the team article (two before in league and two behind). Hard to explain so if you have more questions just ask me.

Boat Race work[edit]

Hey Matty, just a quick barnstar to say thanks for work on Boat Race articles you've conducted over the past year. As of this morning, I completed my (initial) goal of ensuing that every Boat Race had, not only its own article, but one that was either of GA or FA status: we now have 158 GAs and 3 FAs that we can all be proud of! It doesn't stop here, for me at least, I'm going to keep up with improving the quality of the GAs and look for more FA opportunities. Plus, there's the small matter of 70 Women's Boat Race articles to get up and running! But thanks again, I couldn't have done it without your help.
