Dear sir,

Why would you elect this article for speedy deletion. It discusses a factual time line for a disk jockey that influenced the New York City rave scene for 6 years. What makes this less important than anything else?

Infobox

Hi! Congratulations on becoming an admin! I've made a Template:Infobox British Army regiment to replace the single-use templates currently in use with some regiment articles; however, as I know hardly anything about this type of stuff, my attempt at making the field parameters optional failed. A modular infobox would be preferable. I'm sure what I'm doing wrong is glaringly obvious, so I apologise for my ignorance. Sorry about bothering you with this. SoLando (Talk) 20:00, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for your response. I think only (;-)) Colonel-in-Chief, Colonel-of-the-Regiment, Nicknames, Motto, Anniversaries, Marches, and Alliances need to be optional, as many of these tend to not be filled, or just aren't applicable to a particular regiment. Again, sorry about this and thank you so much for your help. SoLando (Talk) 11:11, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'm ok with the template being devoid of footnotes - it's what sections are for IMO ;-) Here's a(nother) barnstar for you. Take care. SoLando (Talk) 11:22, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I award Kirill Lokshin a barnstar for his overall contributions, dilligent work in the field of templates and kindness. SoLando

Battles and wars of Mysore

Hi,

I see you have an interest in military affairs, and appreciate that you have included two battles which involved my native land, Mysore, in an ongoing project. Can you please include the Anglo-Mysore wars as well? These are historically significant, and were played out on a wider canvas.

I had bunched wars and battles together into one category, from which you created a new one by culling out the two battles for inclusion in your project. This is fine, but I hope you can include the wars in your project - - wishing you every success in that.

Please reply on this page, since I am not as yet a registered user.

Regards, Anon

Thank you for your kind words!
Actually, the Anglo-Mysore Wars are already part of our project—you'll find the project notice on the article's talk page. Because there are so many countries to work with, however, we haven't had the time to tag all of the categories; thus, Category:Wars of Mysore is missing its notice (which probably suggested to you that we weren't including it). We'll add the notice eventually, but if you'd be willing to help us, you could add {{WikiProject Military history category}} to the category page yourself.
If you have any further questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me or any of the other members of the project. Kirill Lokshin 00:03, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA

Thank you very much for supporting my rather contentious request for adminship, but now that I've been promoted, I'd like to do a little dance here *DANCES*. If you have any specific issues/problems with me, please feel free to state them on my talk page so that I can work to prevent them in the future, and thanks once again!  ALKIVAR 07:33, 8 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my userpage. When I looked at your contributions and Special:Log/delete, I saw that you perform many such reversions, have deleted many unworthy pages, and are very active on AFD. For these valuable contributions, I hereby award you the RickK anti-vandalism barnstar. Ingoolemo talk 18:37, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

A featured article! Congrats! I wish I'd had the capacity to work on it with you. Speaking of featured articles, (mysterious pause, even the floorboards creak with anticipation), would you be able to support my submission (Dinosaur) on the Article Improvement Drive page. It's a familiar subject matter for me (as you'll see under my list of created articles) & I have recently reformatted the whole article. Basically it's a pet project of mine. I would love it to become a FA, but fear the somewhat evil, (to put it nicely), Bill Gates will beat it. You're my last hope Obiwan......... Bye Spawn Man 03:53, 21 November 2005 (UTC). P.S. Hi, Kirill. I just want to thank you very much for supporting my RfA, and to say also that I hope I'll make a good job of it. I'm supposed to be working on an assignment at the moment, and had delayed thanking people, but I'm finding the new rollback button so easy to use that I'm just keeping Wikipedia open on my browser while working on other things, and I thought I'd like to thank at least a few of my supporters while I'm here. Thanks!

Thanks for the barnstar! I wouldn't mind being awarded some coffee too - well, if I liked the stuff ;-) I can't believe just how many battleboxes there are. The thought of replacing them all is quite daunting - makes swimming with a Great White shark while looking like an extra out a Hammer Horror movie seem palatable! Anyway, thanks again. Take care. Hi Kirill,

Thanks for voting to support my RfA. I wasn't expecting an unopposed promotion (I thought I'd hit some die-hard edit-counters at least) and I'm touched by the trust shown in me. I'll try my best to continue to earn that trust. But first, I'll have to work on not sounding like a politician; that last sentence was awful. Oh well. Let me know when I screw something up with the shiny new buttons. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 05:58, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas

I just went to look at this page and noticed that you had removed much of the material because of copyright violation. I do not know if permission was given to copy material from this page, however, the page it was copied from is not copyrighted itself. Much of the information on this page to be represented correctly must be from a direct school source as it concerns the official policies, history, and philosophies of the school. It may still be a copyright violation (I obviously don't know) some how. Although some information may be copied directly, the majority of it is original in content. I wished I had never nominated this article to be a feautured article if I knew this was going to happen. Having recently joined Wiki, I now am having second thoughts and I am questioning the welcoming community of Wiki; however, I do understand the seriousness of copyright violation. Thank you. (Dustimagic 22:30, 3 December 2005 (UTC))[reply]

Thanks for contacting the school regarding this matter. I know a lot of students along with myself have put much time and effort into this page and it would be a shame to see it all go to waste. Hopefully they will say that this material is ok to be copied. I am glad that there are watchdogs like you on Wiki. Thank you again for looking into this article. {Dustimagic 22:47, 3 December 2005 (UTC)}[reply]

Hmmm, could this IP be a sockpuppet?

I just received a thread on my talk page from the IP address 68.126.239.34. He was criticizing me for reverting his edits to George W. Bush. Those edits had been reverted before by another user. In his critical thread, he made the following statement: "Btw im not a newbie either" (68.126.239.34). However, upon looking at his contributions page, I saw that he does not have that many edits listed, and all were made today. This seems to contradict his statement. This sounds somewhat suspicious: do you think that IP may be a sockpuppet? Roy Al Blue 02:07, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, thanks for telling me about that. I guess we'll never know. Roy Al Blue 03:57, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
