Yom Kippur War

Would you mind keeping an eye on that article? User:Ersroitasent keeps breaking the 1RR and seems unwilling to discuss, and although I don't care much about reporting him, I would like the article to look decent. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 23:24, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, i can take a look on how it is developing from time to time. As for this user, i have checked his talk page and it appears he was warned before. So do you think i should give him another warning or should i simply report him? I don't really know how to deal with similar behavior since and i don't want to engage myself in an edit war either. Thoughts? Fitzcarmalan (talk) 23:49, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't know. I very rarely bother to report or warn trolls, even though I probably should in some instances. By the way, thanks for stepping in. --Mikrobølgeovn (talk) 06:16, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Adly Mansour and Catherine Ashton in Cairo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Adly Mansour and Catherine Ashton in Cairo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. Your non-neutral contribution to wikipedia

Hi, I think the contribution you make to wikipedia is biased and you are working for Egyptian government. I am totally against your views that are not of a neutral person. You are making disruptive editing to wikipedia and the contribution are disruptive, please try to have consensus before you make things final and your wrong contribution may led to being blocked from editing. When did i ever threaten you? I have nothing to threaten anyone with but you're the one who ignored all the discussions and since when does a title make a whole article POV. Ukraine

Hello Can you help me to traduce the English article Ukrainian revolution of 2014 ? [2] --Panam2014 (talk) 14:26, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, i can help, but i don't think i'm allowed to translate an article with a similar shape. The orange tag needs to go and the disputes have to be resolved first so that it qualifies to be translated, i guess. I'm working on Habib Bourguiba and maybe soon on Muhammad Ali of Egypt because both are good quality articles. As soon as the problems are solved i will be glad to help. Republic of Ukraine. Can you help me in this article of Ukraine between 1991 and 1996 ? --Panam2014 (talk) 07:21, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You mean translating it from French to English, right? If so, can you kindly ask an editor you know on the French Wikipedia if i'm allowed to do so? I just want to make sure there is a green light and that i'm not breaking any rules. Thank you. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 17:03, 21 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This is what I ask. There is no need for authorization. You just say that the article was translated from French. --Panam2014 (talk) 16:47, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done but please add more references. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 23:00, 22 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hi all. I noticed this article pop up on my watchlist, and I'd like to continue the discussion of this article there. In short, there never was any "Republic of Ukraine." The declaration of independence of Ukraine named the state "Ukraine," and the interim constitution was that of the Ukrainian SSR of 1978 (which was subsequently modified, but the state was named "Ukraine"[3]) I see no need as for why this article would even need to exist. I suggest redirecting it back to where it was. § DDima 03:30, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@DDima: - Hello and thank you for your message. As you can see, I didn't feel comfortable about doing this in the beginning and i'm not very familiar with the subject at hand. However, I believe now that it is valid in a certain way. If you feel otherwise, please consider inviting more editors to comment on this before making any decision like redirecting or opening an AfD discussion. Regards. 2014 Kramatorsk clashes

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2014 Kramatorsk clashes your opinion here would be appreciated. Thank you. EkoGraf (talk) 20:18, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@EkoGraf: - I have to check both articles first to see whether there really is content forking or not. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 17:16, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Forking there is. But that's because I used the material from those articles for this one and wanted to cut down those other articles so there wouldn't be any forking. But before I could do that, that editor started the ruckus of deletion and forking. So I clearly stated on the discussion page that I will hold of on cutting down those other articles until the issue is resolved. If other editors want to keep the article than I will cut down those other articles and there won't be any forking. EkoGraf (talk) 18:57, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your position, but I think it should have been discussed on Talk:2014 pro-Russian unrest in Ukraine before making the decision. As you can see, it is a very sensitive topic at the moment and is top in the news, so splitting or forking content should be proposed there first, I think. I'm still not sure if it merits a stand alone article, because although I agree with SkoraPobeda over there about the necessity of sub-articles, i'm still tending to consider RGloucester's point that the events in the article might not be directly linked. Give me 24 hrs so I can closely check the articles and I will gladly give you my feedback there. Regards. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 19:15, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Seems we may be coming to an agreement thanks to Arbutus the tree, check out the talk. EkoGraf (talk) 21:05, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Campaignbox Ukraine

I have provided at the talk page sources showing the pro-Russians were armed, as well as the pro-Kiev guys and that both sides engaged in gunfights making it an armed riot. If you are still uncomfortable with this course of action, maybe we can compromise by separating Odessa in the campaignbox and marking it as Other like with the Afghan box, or mark the others in the box as military operations while Odessa under civilian unrest or some-such. Donbass People's Militia

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Donbass People's Militia shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

ChristopherDAOS (talk) 11:23, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@ChristopherDAOS: - I don't know when and where did you come up from with that, but my last edit there was 2 1/2 weeks ago and was eventually uncontested, since the content in dispute did not meet the requirements of WP:WEIGHT and WP:LEAD among other issues. Also, this was going to be my last revert before bringing it up on the article's talk page. You're probably new here, so welcome, but please think twice before you attempt to blackmail other editors. Are you finish? Panam2014 (talk) 19:36, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize for not being able to keep my word and finish it on time. I've been preoccupied with many other things in and outside of Wikipedia, but now I can say I'm partly free. I will try to update my thread on your talk page (in the French Wiki) as soon as I can. Thank you for understanding. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 13:02, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
When the work will be finished ? --Panam2014 (talk) 12:47, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He was Morsi's ally, so I'm sure he didn't. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 01:42, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

help

Hi, look at my contributions, I want to request the removal of items inutilies but I do not know how. Can you help me?--Panam2014 (talk) 17:58, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I don't understand what the problem is. Can you specify, please? Fitzcarmalan (talk) 18:04, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know how to create the page to vote for the removal of these unnecessary pages. --Panam2014 (talk) 18:23, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Which unnecessary pages? Fitzcarmalan (talk) 18:26, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Egyptian Third Republic, Egyptian Fourth Republic, Egyptian Fifth Republic, Egyptian Third Republic and Arab Republic of Egypt (1971–2012) --Panam2014 (talk) 18:28, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Don't forget Arab Republic of Egypt (1971–2012). Panam2014 (talk) 18:46, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - I nominated Egyptian Third Republic, Egyptian Fourth Republic and Egyptian Fifth Republic because I am convinced they are WP:OR and that they were forked from other articles. But I think it would wiser to simply rename Arab Republic of Egypt (1971–2012) to History of modern Egypt (1971–2012) and disambiguate it. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 18:56, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I am agree. Can you rename ? Panam2014 (talk) 19:00, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really feel comfortable about it, given that the article was already proposed for deletion. Perhaps someone like David O. Johnson knows what to do with this one? Fitzcarmalan (talk) 19:14, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
As it is I who made the request for deletion I withdraw to rename. Panam2014 (talk) 20:10, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Fitzcarmalan (talk) 04:06, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I understand where you are coming from, but this article is soon to be GA reviewed. An RM isn't necessary, only a WP:RM/TR. Regardless, such an RM would be disruptive to the GA process. Wouldn't it be better to hold off until that process is complete? RGloucester 01:36, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 22

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2014 Minya court rulings, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page In absentia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Adly Mansour

Hi Have you got a photo of former President Adly Mansour ? regards. --Panam2014 (talk) 12:48, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there are any photos of him around here.[6] I'm also not on good terms with the image policy, so I don't think I can be very helpful on this. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 21:04, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Morsi

Hi Fitz Then you finish the job sources Morsi when? Because I'm writing the article? Thank you.

--Panam2014 (talk) 12:12, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to finish it in the next 2 days but I can't promise anything. The events that unfolded during Morsi's presidency are longer than I thought. In the meantime you can also take a look at 2012–13 Egyptian protests where you might find some helpful details. Fitzcarmalan (talk) 20:18, 3 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You work for Egyptian army

I have noticed in several occasions that you represent a part in Egyptian case and work for them as a Wikipedia editor. I have noticed your edits are unbiased in Egyptian and Islamists issues. Please refrain from doing so or you will be reported to be blocked by Wiki senior admins. --Usaeedi (talk) 08:08, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
