Wikipedia:Example of a double redirect, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Example of a double redirect and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:Example of a double redirect during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Turkish-PKK conflict

Señor(a) Hernandez, FYI we Turks do not fight with the Kurds, we fight only with the terrorists... All the best. --E4024 (talk) 14:41, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just don't fight the Kurdish Turkish terrorist thing on Wikipedia, and I'm not saying you have. We're all supposed to be Wikipedians here. Some people here don't seam to be able to put aside their national or ethnic conflicts and have an adult combination about the title of that page. It's understandable, but it's still disgusting. I have my own opinions, but you don't see me using Wikipedia as a battleground over them. Also, I'm not a Spaniard, so if you want to call my by my middle name it's Mr. Hernandez.:) Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 15:57, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mr Hernandez, if you look at my last contributions you will understand me better... --E4024 (talk) 16:03, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You seam to have an interest in Kurdish terrorism against Turkey. Maybe you should join WikiProjects Terrorism, Turkey, and Kurdistan. If you live in Turkey you might want to add yourself to Category:Wikipedians in Turkey. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 17:21, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to RfC

Hi Emmette. I wanted to invite you to participate in an RfC regarding adding color differentiation to Wiki markup, particularly towards references. You are welcome to participate whenever you are able. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 07:26, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Question for administrator

Could somebody archive User talk:Conversion script, or alternatively remove those irreverent notices. Also add {{nobots}} Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 08:33, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In what sense are the notices "irreverent"? To whom or what do they show irreverence? I don't see anything which could be seen as disrespectful or irreverent. What would be the advantage of putting the same material in a page labelled "archive", rather than leaving it where it is? The usual purpose of archiving talk page content is to prevent excessive content in an actively used page, but this page has not been edited for two years, so I don't see the point. For the same reason, I don't see any point in adding the nobots template: no bots are editing the page anyway, and none has done so since June 2010. All in all, the page is doing no harm, and is not often even looked at (there have been more views of the page in the two days since you posted this "adminhelp" request than there had been in the previous month), but it may as well stay there for the few occasions when anyone does have reason to check its history. Template help

Is it possible to override the name a template provides for a perimeter (e.g. make "Belligerents" on {{Infobox military conflict}} show up as "Combatants")? Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 03:02, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Without substing the template. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 03:18, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not without modifying the template, which I can't do since it's fully protected. LegoKontribsTalkM 03:24, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Deleted article

I posted the contents of the article at User:Thingg/sandbox. Also, I don't know if it matters for what you are doing, but the article was deleted in June 2006 with a PROD, so the small amount of content that is there might yet be useful. Cheers. Thingg 14:45, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1994 Black Hawk shootdown incident

I appreciate the input, but participants in a friendly fire accident are usually not depicted in the infobox as adversaries. Cla68 (talk) 04:30, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Started discussion. By the way, you misspelled "participants". Cla68 (talk) 04:41, 16 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unfinished ?

Your new documentation page at Template:Duck/doc seems rather generic and not applicable for that template. Were you planning on fixing it up soon? VernoWhitney (talk) 03:22, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The point was just to tell people to subst the template (we wouldn't want changes to the template to effect the context of the talk pages it has been used on like in this edit). I'm rather inexperienced with templates, so if you have a better way to inform people to subst it, go ahead. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 03:36, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've rewritten it as encouragement rather than mandated, since the whole point of most Image with comment templates is to make things much quicker to type, and subst'ing them takes that away a bit. <shrug> I also corrected the suggested code to actually leave the duck message rather than a user warning. VernoWhitney (talk) 19:46, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doppelganger

Thanks for creating that doppelganger account for me :). In future, it should usually be created by the person being impersonated (and blocked!) otherwise we end up with an unblocked account not in control of the person it's meant to protect, which is kinda what's meant to be prevented in the first place ;p. Thanks again, Ironholds (talk) 03:07, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't have control of it, I used a random password I didn't record. I meant to tell you about it but I guess it slipped my mind. While you're at it, if doppelgangers should be blocked, could you block User:Emmett Hernandez Coleman please. Probably no reason to run the risk of it ever becoming compromised. Just to let you know, there is no such article as Palestine (region) it is a redirect to Palestine. If Palestine is the main article for the sub heading "Palestine as a geographic region", then the text of that section should be a summary of the the main article based on the lead of Palestine. Dlv999 (talk) 10:43, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know that Palestine (region) is a redirect, but is seamed a little better to link there then to link there then derily to Palestine to make it clear we're that we're linking to the region article, and in case the name "Palestine" became used for an article something other then about the region. My objection to your edit is now moot (as long as the bulk of the geopolitical stuff goes under the geopolitical sub-section), I've tweaked the article so that "Palestine as a geographic term" is general geography section. However, when you import content from another article, remember to follow Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 11:14, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, fair enough. Thanks for the link also, I will keep that in mind in the future. Dlv999 (talk) 11:25, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:NeonMerlin/Main Page

From User talk:TenPoundHammer"You deleted User:NeonMerlin/Main Page per Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:NeonMerlin/Main Page. As a draft it volited WP:STALEDRAFT, but would it work as a wp:Main Page alternative? I don't know what the page looked like, so I don't know if it would be a viable Main Page alternative. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 19:22, 23 October 2012 (UTC) "[reply]

I don't even remember what was on that one, but it seems like it was an ancient main page copy that had nothing of benefit. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 20:56, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just noticed your not an admin anymore. Guess I'll need to ask someone at Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles so we can view the page and see if it's a viable Main Page alternative. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 21:09, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"Anymore"? I never was one. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 21:31, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, you were the nominator, not the deleting admin. I'm tired. I'll invite the real deleting admin User:Bencherlite to this discussion. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 21:36, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It was an attempt to write an article about main pages, of Wikipedia and other websites, not an alternative version of the WP main page. Sorry about the delay in replying. BencherliteTalk 22:46, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, no reason to un-deleate. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 22:54, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Humor?

The category has been created as a political protest, and so should not be categorized as humor.

Like The Gods, you are welcome to find humor in the squabbles of talking primates, of course.

Sincerely, Kiefer.Wolfowitz 13:01, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I thought Category:Wikipedians who are not a Wikipedian was supposed to be some sort of joke. I don't have any strong feelings about it, but being a joke and being a political protest are far from being mutually exclusive. A political protest can be Political satire. Is the category a political Joke? Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 13:23, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the discussions on the category's talk page, its CfD page, and its ReverseBadDeletion page, before making further edits to the page. After reading the discussion, you might raise a discussion point on the talk page. Cheers, Kiefer.Wolfowitz 13:27, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Another duplicate templates

Template:Sri Lankan Civil War and Template:Sri Lankan Conflict. Let's merge? ༆ (talk) 21:02, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if they should be merged. Those infoboxes cover the same topic, but their two different kinds, or at least styles, of infoboxes. The WP:TFD people will know if they should be merged, so I'd recommend sending the templates there, or I could send them to TFD for you if you'd prefer.
