Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Asus. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Ninja Diannaa (Talk) 18:39, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Annales School

I'm not sure. Part of the problem when discussing a block for Annales School is that the isp edits come from the 185 area, which raises flags for a block because 185 matches a list of isp addresses for which blocking requires a mandatory notice the WMF (though admittedly this is a little off the specific wavelength for our ever persistent sock). I'd be tempted to entertain raising the matter at WP:ANI, but I'd personally wait until attempt #3 to prove that protection of the article and the blocking of the isp addresses individually aren't helping. Photo

Hi, Catlemur. Thanks for adding the WWI photographs. Would you mind cropping each photo as opposed to directly uploading the entire page of the book? (Both for photos you've already upload and those you will being uploading in the future.) It spares the reader having to zoom into the image. Thanks in advance. 23 editor (talk) 17:17, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@23 editor: I understand. Thing is I have no editing skills, the best I can do is cropping them in Mircosoft Paint. In case that is fine, I will proceed.--Catlemur (talk) 17:38, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that's fine. 23 editor (talk) 18:04, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@23 editor: I was about to upload some cropped versions when I saw that you have already taken care of them.--Catlemur (talk) 20:13, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking so much trouble over the ce, I've got Manflu and have made far too many errors and omissions. Keith-264 (talk) 22:01, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Keith-264: No problem, thanks for taking the time to write the article.--Catlemur (talk) 22:17, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've had it in mind for years but waited for someone to publish a RS on the real story of August to avoid OR and NPOV problems but I think I've managed to skate round them. Keith-264 (talk) 22:36, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored the ref, with a short explanation on the talk page.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 10:36, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to translate w:fr:Bataille d'Alsace, possibly by using Google Translate. I asked the article creator there to add in-line references. Otherwise, I will translate/expand the stub later. Thanks!Zigzig20s (talk) 17:00, 11 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've gleaned a bit more, enough for a B? Regards Keith-264 (talk) 18:54, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Keith-264: Seems like a minor raid, so the coverage is good enough. B class.--Catlemur (talk) 19:23, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ta, I was a little red faced about the typos though. ;o)Keith-264 (talk) 19:25, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Catlemur, thanks for looking over William Edward Ellis for me. Are the two paragraphs you reference the lead? I tried to model the general scheme of this article on an FA article. Those don't cite the lead but repeat lead claims in the body of the article with appropriate referencing, which I tried to do here. If there are cn within the body of the article please feel free to tag them for me so I can add where appropriate. Cheers, Finktron (talk) 11:52, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Finktron: I tagged the paragraphs, the lead does not need citations as it is just a summary of thing already mentioned and cited.--Catlemur (talk) 14:17, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Catlemur: Thanks! I went ahead and added the proper citations, though I realized that two of my cites under the harvid scheme make for unwieldy citation. I had to use 'The Times-News 1964(1)' and 'The Times-News 1964(2)' as names for the cites since they are both staff writer/authorless. If you know of a better way to structure the code for citation don't hesitate to let me know. I just wanted to stick with harvid since that's the overall formatting scheme I've used for the other cites. Cheers and thanks again, Finktron (talk) 00:56, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Finktron: It's fine as it is, B class.--Catlemur (talk) 07:12, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

March Madness 2017

G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

For the Milhist co-ordinators. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) & MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 07:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs

Thank you for your recent articles, including Johann von Geyso, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list at T:TDYK. Let me know if you need help, Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:16, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Piotrus: Hey, I am glad you liked the article, I would have written more if I had more sources. Sadly I have a lost my faith in the DYK process after a series of unfortunate incidents. First of all it is being routinely used as a free advertisement for movies, video games and other commercial products. Apart from that its quality standards are extremely low, I have seen articles being featured on it while being riddled with typos, one incident of blatant racism in the hook as well as articles failing the lowest notability standards (in my humble opinion). Therefore I would like to distance myself from this process and leave more space for the PR people promoting their garbage new movies. Kind regards.--Catlemur (talk) 15:59, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Eurowings - Current fleet

Hi, you filled in the references about the Airbus A319 and A320 wet-leased with Air Berlin (link). According to the article you cited (link): "all of the A319s and A321s, as well as 13 A320s will be wet leased to Lufthansa" i.e. six A319 and 21 A321, however, the table of current fleet says 7 A319s in service and three more on order and no mention of A321. So there are contradictions. Same for A320: according to the wiki article - 22 to be wet-leased from Air Berlin, but the article you cited said 13 A320s will be wet leased to Lufthansa [Eurowings].---Now wiki (talk) 20:59, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Now wiki: I did not cite anything. I filled the bare citations inserted by someone else (I do not even know who).--Catlemur (talk) 14:41, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

not to worry about Pennavaire, and would you look at something for me again

Not to worry about Pennavaire. By the end of the war, Frederick was running out of generals and giving out awards like they were paper. And Pennavaire was old, and had been loyal to him for many years. How many eighty year olds will lead a charge?
On another note, would you have another look at Names_inscribed_on_the_Equestrian_statue_of_Frederick_the_Great. All the redlinks are filled in. I've not footnoted everything, just a few things, but if you think I need to put a note on every name I will. I want to take it to A-class. Then it's done. auntieruth (talk) 17:04, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • LOL, I just saw the header....niot ti wirrtm wiykd tiy aksi kiij at abitger artucke fir ne again My computer collapses the summaries....makes reading a bit odd sometimes.
@Auntieruth55: Hey and sorry for the delay but I am as busy as ever IRL. This explanation makes more sense than the previous one. I will give it a B. Good job on the equestrian statue article. As you intend to get to A class I would suggest footnoting everything, although I have never brought an article to that level so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Cheers.--Catlemur (talk) 14:44, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was afraid of that.  ;) I should have done it all along but... Re Pennavaire I've added every bit of trivia on him and his family I could find. Quite honestly, his longevity also makes him notable! Frederick expected his generals to lead from the front, so there were high casualties. auntieruth (talk) 15:05, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Lyft proposed changes?

Hi Catlemur,

I noticed you've been active on the Lyft article. I wonder if you would help review a number of updates that the company thinks would improve the article. Talk:Lyft#Suggested_changes.2F_Independent_review I do this a lot and always request an independent review of proposed changes, as is proper under Wikipedia policy. You would just have to state on the Talk page whether you approve or disapprove of the proposed changes, individually or as a group. Or suggest any modifications.

Bezen Perrot

Hello. I don't agree with you. I am from near this place (Lanvénégen), I have books (and I knew people who lived those events in 1944) about the Second World War in Le Faouët, I never red (neither heard) allegations of presence of members of the Bezen there... Kadbzh (talk) 19:26, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Kadbzh: I never claimed Bezen were at Le Faouët, the photo is only used to illustrate a German round up of civilians. Therefore it fits.--Catlemur (talk) 20:19, 23 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
