Request reason:

I've just returned from a long break to find I can't edit. How come?

Decline reason:

Please follow the instructions below. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 09:31, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Clearing an autoblock

Due to the nature of the block applied we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

  1. If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache.
  2. Try to edit the Sandbox.
  3. If you are still blocked, copy the {{unblock-ip|...}} code generated for you under the "IP blocked?" section. This is usually hidden within the "What do I do now?" section. If so, just click the "[show]" link to the right hand side to show this text.
  4. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.

If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 09:31, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption.

Request handled by: עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 10:09, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Speedy deletion of Markus Jiskra

A tag has been placed on Markus Jiskra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Feat Factory

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Feat Factory, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No sources to support the notability of 'Fear Factory' if the British team do train their it might be notable but sources are needed.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Simply deleting the tag doesn't make it go away or hide. That warning is strictly for readers to know the article is potentially nothing but vandalism; you don't think the nomination really lies elsewhere? Daniel Christensen (talk) 14:18, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Feat Factory

A tag has been placed on Feat Factory requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Userpage

{{helpme}} I'm not great at formatting things here. Can someone please move my taekwondo userbox so it sits to the right of File:Taekwondo.svg. Thanks!!! C.U.T.K.D T | C 15:09, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look. --  Chzz  ►  15:11, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I don't think it can be done. If the image is taken out of the infobox, it can't be put on the right - you can't have text-pic-infobox. If you try, the pic doesn't appear until the end of the infobox, underneath it.

Same problem if I try to put it on the left within the text, because it won't appear until after the infobox.

Can you clarify what you're trying to do? Is it because you think the infobox is too long, with the picture and the logo?

--  Chzz  ►  15:18, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adding:

I've played around with the infobox template formatting, and the only way to get the 2 images side-by-side is by messging about with the code that is generated by the infobox template. That means not using the template directly, therefore if the template got updated this particular page would have to be changed manually. I don't think that's a good idea.

One proposed solution would be to use image editing to make a single image file that contains both the logo and the picture. That might be the best answer.

If I can help further, please leave me comments on my own talk page.

Thanks, --  Chzz  ►  15:50, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Obama

I have an outline of a lengthy and legitimate article at User:THF/Obama with not a single "nutball conspiracy theory" in it. I'll draft it off-wiki this weekend. I encourage editors to participate in this project by sending me sources (or perhaps fully drafted paragraphs) rather than battling at DRV or on the Talk:Obama page about intermediate stages. If we present a fully-sourced, well-written neutral article, there shouldn't be a problem -- and if there is, it will be pretty damning of Wikipedia. THF (talk) 15:48, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Counter Vandalism

{{helpme}} I am trying to use user:Lupin's Anti Vandal tools, the code for which I have inserted at user:CUTKD/monobook.js. I would like some assistance using the "Recent IP edits" function, as at the moment I cannot use the roll-back feature in a new tab/window - each time I attempt to revert vandalism I have to click "back" to return to the page, which as I'm sure you are all aware is extremely inefficient and defeats the object of the tools. I'm also unsure of how to use the warnings feature, and how to select different grades of warning template. Thanks, C.U.T.K.D T | C 07:59, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can open the rollback feature in a new tab. I think the warning level is automatically chosen. fahadsadah (talk, contribs) 08:11, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok so the rollback function seems to be working quite nicely (although half the time it doesn't automatically click save :S). I still can't get the warnings to work. The editing page comes up, with a "Your recent edits..." summary in place, but no warning template from me issued and no automatic save :S Any ideas what's going wrong? {{helpme}} Can someone please help me with my talk page auto-archive? It's supposed to be set-up so that anything older than a month is archived, max archive size 100K, and leaving no fewer than 10 threads in active talk. Several threads should already have been archived. If you can fix it, perhaps you could change it to every 3 months for me? Talk isn't quite as active as I thought it might be. Thanks, C.U.T.K.D T | C 08:41, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've had a shot at fixing this; the relative link might have confused the bot. Give it 24 hours to see if it works. You should note that the bot will ignore threads with less than two timestamps, so the welcome message and the various bot warnings wil still need to be manually archived. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 11:58, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Right, it's working now. I've added a couple of section headers to help the bot out, which should hopefully allow it to process the rest of your old messages. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 13:35, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deion/Deioneus

Hi

Re these unexplained reverts: [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Deion is a dab page; Deioneus says "In Greek mythology, Deioneus (Greek: Δηιονεύς) or Deion (Greek: Δηίων) is a name attributed to the following individuals:"; I presumed the article name must be the more "usual" of the two? 58.8.15.66 (talk) 10:24, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deion is an acceptable alternative for Deioneus, thus you could argue there was no need for you to change it in the first place. That said, you are probably right, so if you wish to change them back again, I won't revert this time. C.U.T.K.D T | C 10:29, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What the hell? The user is massively abusive and has over thirty socks, many of which the user used to try to get others blocked. Seriously, how the hell can you assume good faith with someone who tries to get others blocked for nothing in his free time.— dαlus Contribs 08:15, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, this ban is not out of the blue. The user was previously blocked indefinitely, awhile back, for continuing to evade blocks in order to harass others. Where the hell is your good faith coming from? This user certainly doesn't deserve it. This ban is simply to make it formal, instead of the informal ban he already has.— dαlus Contribs 08:47, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wait, why would anyone ban him? He's a good user -- I had an exchange with a highly maligned user in 2007, and then a mate deleted a section of an article [easily reverted] under my login, as well as the obviously tongue-in-cheek "threat" of a revert war I "engaged in," and CUTKD was here for us all to give me a "stern talking to" :) Please realize that CUTKD is here for us all, and is good. A tag has been placed on File:Hogus.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Since the block duration is only 24 hours, there's really no point appealing it as by the time I can prove to you that the latter image was not a copyright vio, the block will have expired. That said, once I do clear my name, I will expect a full apology from those involved. C.U.T.K.D T | C 21:59, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you believe this block is unjustified, you are free to contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. — Aitias // discussion 22:01, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To CUTKD: Please understand how your situation looks to an uninvolved administrator. You uploaded photo's of the Olympics that, by virtue of their quality and proximity to the events themselves, it would be quite reasonable to presume were taken from the Press pit; there is no photography date or metainformation. In almost all cases where such characteristics as these are present, the upload is a copyright violation. If you're able to prove to the contrary, then please do so, and by all means, the block will be lifted; but it's unreasonable to "expect a full apology" from all involved when you haven't provided the required information in the first place. Cool your jets, buddy. I was involved in no evil plots, I did not attempt to delete this article twice and behavior such as this in bordering on violation of WP:AGF, WP:C and WP:OWN. Your evil plan to have this article deleted has failed for the second time. Ha!
Your rhetorical, mocking laugh exhibits incivility and the lengths you go to champion this article (in becoming excessively defensive in apparent violation of WP:AGF, together with your apparent incivility) may appear to be a stance against those who seek to oppose an article that you created, thus bordering on making it appear as though it's your article to defend. Ah ok. C.U.T.K.D T | C 09:20, 28 M 09:31, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In my latest comment on ANI, I'm essentially challenging RS or RCS or whatever it is, to find evidence for an SPI. Lots of users will support other users for whatever reason, which doesn't necessarily make them sockpuppets, even though sockpuppets will certainly do that. However, sometimes sockpuppets will even appear to oppose themselves, to divert suspicion. The many socks of Pioneercourthouse (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) provide a good example of that kind of thing, from this past Jan or Feb, whenever it was. I answered on my talk page. You know, my username is not so difficult to remember correctly, i take offense at the way you make fun of it, especially since we already met (not IRL, to be sure). Cheers, --RCS (talk) 09:46, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not making fun of it, I actually do have trouble remembering user names unless they stand out in some way. Because I put a comment on your page, you're on my watch list for the time being, so I should be able to remember it now. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots 09:48, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Does this user do anything besides make enemies?" Check my contribs, and keep your mouth shut.Drew Smith What I've done 10:34, 28 May 2009 (UTC) [reply]
