Hi, when you'll be back from vacation, could you tell me the license of the picture Image:Michelangelo.pieta.350pix.jpg. We use it on french wikipedia so I'd like to know if it is GFDL or public domain. Thanks in advance. Tipiac 21:52, 9 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Barnstar

Hey Adrian: Just to let you know I awarded you a Barnstar on your user page, for your hard and meritorius work. I hope you like it. Thanks and God bless you!

Sincerely yours, "Antonio Godfather of Nicknames Martin"

Hi Adrian, I thought your beautiful photo was rather wasted down there in the "See also" section of the article on hotels (and, by the way, I do believe that three pictures of the same building showing exterior and interior make sense), so I found a nicer place for it in the newly created star (classification) article. If you don't like it there I'll go and remove it again, as I don't think the same photo should be used twice if it can be avoided.

By the way, all the pictures taken by you (which I've come across so far) are great! All the best, <KF> 09:34, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Kurt, thanks for the kind comment on my photo quality, I do only picture work and no writing (except the captions, of course). So I'm especially keen to get the placement, and appropriate article, correct.
I can't agree that 3 pics of the same hotel is OK because, since the hotel article is fairly short (and likely to remain so) no one can get in another hotel pic, which is a bit restrictive. So I'm asking if you will be kind to me and leave the Castle Combe pic on the Hotel article.
It wasn't deliberately placed in the See Also section, that positioning just happened to be a good spacing from the bottom of the last picture.
I'll get another pic of a hotel as soon as possible for the Star (classification) article.
I hope my pic can stay on the Hotel article but should you want to revert to the arrangement you had I won't complain!
Best Wishes, Adrian Pingstone 14:39, 16 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hey Adrian, its me Antonio again. I have been so involved in writing articles and trying to work around my computer, which is messing up badly again, that I havent been abkle to thankl you for the Ben Charles Padilla photo. We have done this with the hopes that he gets back well and alive.

Once again, thanks and God bless you! (check the article on Eye Spy Magazine, BTW).

Sincerely yours, your friend, "Antonio Ringmaster of Nicknamed people Martin"

Hey Arp: I cant thank you enough for putting the photo on the Pedro Montanez article. I always think a photo in a wikipedia article is the "topping of the ice cream" and youre the only o-ne basically putting the topping or "reaching the iceberg" at wikipedia! Everyone else here should express their respects here to you as I do. The last name Montanez, by the way, means something like "Mountain person" in Spanish.

The photo, as you can tell, is very old. I just found it there laying and decided to put it to good use. Besides illustrating Montanez, people can see what I looked like...in 1985! lol

Well, thanks and God bless you!

Sincerely yours, your friend, Antonio Happy to be unblocked Martin

Can you hear the gnashing teeth?

Hi Adrian. I have a problem and you're the expert, so...... I uploaded an image today, (Child from Akha hill tribe} which worked ok as normal. Then I uploaded another image, , but only half of it appears in wiki. So I decided to upload again, with the same file name. Same thing -- only half of it appears. Help! Cheers Moriori 02:27, Aug 6, 2004 (UTC)

Tks for response Adrian. What a strange thing. I posted a new article today Vincenzo Gemito, and thought I'd give one more try with a new image upload. So I went to the image to see what I had named it, and would you believe it, the WHOLE image was indeed there as you can see above, not half of it. What a mystery, but all's well that.........Hey, tks too for sending the sun on its way back downunder -- warming up nicely here. Moriori 20:35, Aug 7, 2004 (UTC)

About the fan photo

I noted you removed the 'Wikipedia' brand I had put on the photograph of an electric fan I uploaded. But that's okay, I airbrushed out the original 'Vornado' logo on it myself before I uploaded it. In response to the comment on the picture, I took it and have explicitly declared it public domain.

A380 picture

File:A380.emirates.736pix.jpg

Hi! I just found this picture looking for an A380 picture for the german Wikipedia. The License says: "Reproduced with the permission of Airbus UK." Does this mean, the picture is licensed under the GNU FDL? Greetings from Finkenwerder! --Xeper 15:51, 25 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hullo from Bristol, England!
Yes, I understood from BAe at the time they gave me the pic (on a CD of Airbus pics) that GDFL was OK with them but I don't have that in writing. So go ahead and use the picture under GDFL.
I went to the Finkenwerder aircraft factory way back in 1993 when it belonged (I think) to Deutsche Airbus. I was an aerodynamicist on Airbus and I went to what was called the A321 1g wing bend test when the wing of an Airbus A321 was bent up to full flight shape. I had to measure the fit of all the control surfaces. I remember a huge river just outside (the Elbe was it?)

Hi there! Thanks for adding the image Image:Mercury.e6b.650pix.jpg. It currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, and I was hoping that you would add one as untagged images may be deleted eventually. Bath, royal cres.

You asked: Aerial view contrast improved (why don't contributors make simple improvements to their pics before adding?))

Well, for a start, programs to do that are quite expensive, or need to be downloaded, etc. And maybe the contributor was using a picture from an archive and wanted to present it as seen in its original form.

You've rather overdone the contrast, for my taste (and it is a matter of taste). The trees in Victoria park now look like lollipops...

Quota, thanks for your comments. I accept that my remark was a little cruel and I won't make any more remarks of that sort again.
OK :-)

Modified
I don't agree the trees look odd, I've done plenty of flying, including light aircraft, and seen plenty such scenes so I know how an aerial view should look.
I certainly think my pic was a massive improvement, here they are side-by-side. If you truly prefer the dim one, then that's your right::
No, I definitely prefer yours, over the dim one, no question. (As I said, it's a matter of taste on the whole.) I'm just saying that I think it is a bit too much on the contrasty side. I too, have done a lot of flying, including in light aircraft over the Royal Crescent (my grandfather lived in #1 before he died, and my wedding reception was in the hotel in the middle), so I know it well. To me (as a matter of preference, and perhaps poor memory) the high contrast doesn't match my recollections. It looks more like the sort of contrast one sees in low humidity, such as over Arizona. And not at all Somerset/Avon :-)) quota

Airbag age?

Hi, A, my condolences on the loss of the car that resulted in Image:Car.airbag.600pix.jpg. Do you recall approximately the time interval between the crash and the photo? How long did the bag take to deflate? (I'm guessing the bag deflated in 3 seconds or less.) Lupin and I are working on the caption on airbag, and the extra information will surely help. (I'm watching the image description page for the changes.) Thanks! -- ke4roh 11:18, Sep 4, 2004 (UTC

Hi Ke4roh, thanks for your questions. On the subject of deflation time have a look at thisURL:
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/framed.htm?parent=airbag.htm&url=http://whyfiles.news.wisc.edu/032air_bag/how_work.html
where it says by 0.3 seconds after inflation, the bag is supposed to be empty.
My 24 year old son John was the driver of the car, I was not with him. He crashed into the back of a Mercedes in a queue of traffic he was approaching because he thought the queue was moving. Actually it was stationary and he couldn’t stop! He said that deflation seemed instantaneous, it wasn’t seconds.
The interval between the crash and the photo was one hour because I went to see the car (and take the photo) after the car had been towed to a garage. It’s a gloomy pic because I had to photograph through the window which wouldn’t wind down. By the way, John was not hurt in any way, Chassis distortion meant that the car was written off. Best Wishes - Adrian Pingstone 19:24, 4 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Magnum

Hi Adrian! Car pics again... ;-) I noticed you changed the Vauxhall Magnum pic and your comment was "greatly improved". Sadly, I don't find it so - it's far too contrasty and the colours flare on my monitor. I think this is a classic case of colour management gone awry across platforms - what might look fine on my monitor (or yours) may not be the same for everyone. In addition it grew in size by 40% or so. Not sure what the best thing here is, I just reverted for now.Graham 23:39, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hi

Hey Arpingstone: Just wanted to say hi! Old friends are never forgotten.

Got myself a new satellite tv dish and now I can catch WAPA-TV from my natal Puerto Rico. Its a shame that today at the news they informed that a 28 year old pilot flying a single engine turbo crashed while flying from Eugenio Maria de Hostos Airport in Mayaguez to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan. According to the news report he was on a hobby flight (he just wanted to fly so he grabbed his plane and took off) and his shoes were found in the beach were the plane crashed.

Other than that, imagine, I hadnt seen Puerto Rican tv in 15 years and Im so happy to be able to! I also receive channels from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic and even Spain. We oredered the Latin American package so we get channels from almost every hispanic country. I had been seeing Mexico television for years already and still receive those channels too. And gues what??? I also receive BBC sports!!! Been watching a lot of good old English football lately!! And boxing and etc. And Discovery Wings, which means I can return to my favorite show, Airline, which is transmitted from London Heathrow!.

My sister is having a baby girl! And we have a new dog, a girl also. Shes seven weeks old, her name is Pebbles and she wakes me up every morning with love demonstrations!. We are so happy.

How are you and your family doing?

Well just to tell you, friends are never forgotten!

Write back ASAP!

sINCERELY YOURS, "Antonio Arp's Buddy Martin"

30 St Mary Axe

Hi Adrian,

Nice job on the new photos for 30 St Mary Axe - I particularly like the shot of the entrance. After I was there a couple of months back, I realised that one of the best vantage points to photograph the building is half-way up the stairs on the outside of the Lloyds buildings (assuming there isn't a gate which prevents you from climbing the stairs). The shot I uploaded is from the same direction, but at street level which doesn't give the best impression of scale (similarly image:stirling.swiss.re.arp.750pix.jpg). Someone put up a 'fair use' image recently which shows what is possible Image:Swiss Re Tower.jpg, but I listed it for deletion because we have plenty of free use shots. So if you happen to pass by again before I do....

Good call on removing the blurred London skyline photo too. Its one I would be tempted to recreate, but I haven't figured out where the vantage point is - I'm guessing it is somewhere east along the river from the Tate modern. -- Solipsist 11:12, 9 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Last weekend was the first time I was ever caught without writing an article, Friday there was a big concert and my siblings and I went to an after-concert dinner with the main group, so I was planning a coupole articles and wound up returining at 4 am.

Then last night me, my brother, his wife and a friend went bar-hopping, trying to see if any of them was showing the Barrera-Morales III fight but our search was futile. Well, for all that was worth, we spent the night driving around with nothing to do, except for a moment when we stopped at the mall and we found out that they were closing soon. All we bought was a Matchbox! (me)..lol

Well, I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks and God bless you as always!

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. Ram-Man (comment) (talk)[[]] 13:43, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)

You are correct. The multi-licensing scheme used here would not apply to your pictures that you upload, however, it could apply to all of your text contributions that you make to Wikipedia, not limited to but including adding links to the pictures within the articles themselves. In general I am focusing on users text contributions with images as an afterthought. Ram-Man (comment) (talk)[[]] 14:08, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)
I think we are misunderstanding each other. I do not want you to do anything different with your PD pics. That's great that you are willing to do that. What I want to know is if your text contributions (non-images) would also be released into the PD (or CC-by-sa). This would include all of your copyediting that you do to various articles such as fixing typos. Basically I don't want to persuade you to change your PD licensing of your images, I want you to expand your PD licensing to include ALL your contributions, including text edits. Ram-Man (comment) (talk)[[]] 14:29, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)
Ram-Man, would you kindly hop over to User:Arpingstone and see if I've done the PD licencing for text correctly. Thanks - Adrian Pingstone 15:34, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)
It looks great. Thanks! Ram-Man (comment) (talk)[[]] 18:52, Dec 9, 2004 (UTC)

Hi, I added a "unverified" copyright tag to your upload Image:Rubens.adoration.650pix.jpg. I belive it should be PD by virtue of its age and that photos of art don't merit their own copyright, but am unsure. Please update with an appropriate tag, if you can.

Thousands of images have no copyright tags. You can help sort this out by clicking on this link!

Hello, Adrian. Since you release most of your images in the public domain, you should probably know about the PD-self template. Courbet.karoly.550pix.jpg

I've been tagging non-tagged images (there a zillion if you want to help out), and I came across Image:Courbet.karoly.550pix.jpg. It appears you got it from webshots? Perhaps you know how they deal with copyright over there and can add the appropriate copyright tag? I gave it a unverified for now. Thanks! --MaxPower 18:24, 2004 Dec 13 (UTC)

Is that standard practice? To PD electronic reproductions of public domain art? I know this page says this about the PD-art tag: "for images of works of art where the artist died more than 100 years ago. But if the person or organization who digitized it has released it under another license, list that other license as well as this one." But you would know way better than me, I'm just trying to figure out what the standard way about doing things is. Thanks for your insight! --MaxPower 13:48, 2004 Dec 14 (UTC)

Hello Adrian. Could you tell me where Image:Wing.slat.250pix.jpg comes from? I'm doing some image-tagging. Thanks, Quadell (talk) (help)[[]] 18:47, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)

We are trying to use this one on commons, do you know it's coyright status ? 01:21, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Unspecified image

Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:

I notice they currently don't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know each one's copyright status?

You can use gfdl if you release your own work under the GNU Free Documentation License, PD-self if you wish to release your own work to the public domain, fairuse if you claim fair use, and so on. Click here for a list of the various tags.

If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the image from, and I'll tag it for you. Thanks so much. Denni 04:23, 2004 Dec 13 (UTC)

P.S. You can help tag other images at Wikipedia:Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

Image:Airindia.a310-300.f-kkcr.750pix.jpg too, if you don't mind. =) --Ricky81682 (talk) 07:15, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)
DustDevil I have removed from the Astronomy article, I have no idea where it came from.
Dumbbell is no longer used in the article.
AirIndia I have tagged GFDL.
Thanks for your query - Adrian Pingstone 17:27, 1 Jan 2005 (UTC)

What a great image of the Sierra RS Cosworth—really boosts that page. Thank you! Stombs 21:26, Dec 19, 2004 (UTC)

Corrot image

Hi, I am reviewing license/copyright tags for some art images. I came across Image:Corot.villedavray.750pix.jpg. Looking at your policy of dual-licensing your contributions with public domain, I am relatively sure that I can tag the image with template:PD-art. But I thought I would ask you first anyway. And have you heard the news that Mandrake linux will include a copy of Wikipedia? (details are meta:Wikimedia and Mandrakesoft). Giving images a proper tag is even more important now. Tomos 05:08, 21 Dec 2004 (UTC)

The image description page of that picture is essentially empty. I'm guessing that's just an oversight, but I don't want to presume that it's Ok to stick a Arpingstone tag on it without checking with you first. Could you update the image description page to provide some licensing information? Thanks very much, --MarkSweep 06:09, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing - Done - Adrian Pingstone 16:57, 1 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Image tag

I'm confused as to what tag to use for Image:Michelangelo.pieta.650pix.jpg. The site says that noncommercial use permission is given, but also says that the contents are either public domain or fair use. Ofcourse the latter would be better, but I'm not sure if it refers to the images themselves or the subjects. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. --Aqua 07:38, Dec 24, 2004 (UTC)

Also Image:Michelangelo.pieta.350pix.jpg I've nominated this for speedy deletion, since it's just a smaller version of Image:Michelangelo.pieta.650pix.jpg, no? --MarkSweep 07:04, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Thunderstang?

File:1968.ford.thunderbird.arp.750pix.jpg

The picture of the yellow car you recently added to the Ford Thunderbird page surprised me. That is clearly the first-generation Mustang body, and judging from the pattern of the fake air scoop on the side, I'd say it's a '66. However, I'm not acquainted with the UK market. Did they really sell them as Thunderbirds there? Thanks RivGuySC 20:28, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Sorry I can't reply to you all just now but I've felt unwell over Christmas. I'll answer in a few days - Adrian Pingstone 21:39, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)
OK, I'm well now. Thunderbird (?) pic removed, no problem - Adrian Pingstone 16:51, 1 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Sonya Emery photo

Hey Arp: How's things going? I hope all is good. Dorry to hear you were feeling bad but its good to hear now you're better. We almost had a tornado here in Phoenix today! Go figure! Must be the global warming..lol

Well, I have a couple of questions: I have a Kodak photo of Sonya Emery, taken by God knows who, that she herself gave me. Since its a Kodak photo, and no one probably has copyright but we dont know, can it be placed here?

Another thing, if it can, could you please do me the favor? Id scan it and send it over to you as I have no idea how to place photos here yet.

Thanks and God bless you!

Sincerely yours, "Antonio Lola's Icon Martin"

.750pix.

I can't help notice that you still resize your images to this 750px bounding box. I'm sure you've come across one of my rants on WP:FPC about how Good it is to have nice big source images on Wikipedia. Is this done out of habit of trying to make the pictures "fit nicely" on most monitors (which is irrelevant now that the image: pages scale down automatically now), or do you just not want to release the high-res originals into the public domain?

Keep up the good work. ed g2stalk 11:14, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hi! Your first guess "fit nicely" is absolutely correct. I had no idea the software had been changed to resize the image on the Image Page but it does explain some messages that have been appearing on some of my Image Pages. For example, on Cleopatra's Needle the top pic has a blue link at its base that I was puzzled by. I assume the software adds the message automatically if it resizes?
I'm very happy to release the full res pic so I'll do a trial full-size upload. The size obviously depend on how I crop but an uncropped image is 2289 by 1712px.
If I like what I see then I might go back over my favourite pics and upload a high res version but that's a frightening amount of work!
Thanks for writing, your message has been very helpful - Adrian Pingstone 11:46, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)
I've put up my first hi-res pic, a Malév Hungarian Airlines Boeing 737 I photographed on Monday at Heathrow. I like what I see, so the 750px pics are done with. Thanks once again for telling me. Very Best Wishes - Adrian Pingstone 17:21, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)
The download high resoloution version link is added automatically when a scaled version is used on the image page. Plugwash 20:21, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Hey Adrian: Congratulations on the excellency of the Malev Hungarian Airlines photos! You ability never cesases to amaze me!
Would you like to take a look at the photo that Sonya Emery gave me herself?
Thanks and God bless! Keep up the excellent work!
Sincerely yours,
your friend

If I might interrupt this conversation, there is not such thing as de facto public domain images. Unless you get the permission of the author, the image is copyrighted. ed g2stalk 10:28, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Excellent, FYI you can change the size of the auto-resized image in your user preferences. You may even want to upload your full size images to the Commons: where they can be accessed by all the wikimedia projects. ed g2stalk 10:28, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I second that! There are so many images that I'd love to use in translations to Afrikaans articles, and if they're on the commons it saves a lot of work! Again, thanks for the great work you've done! --Dewet 14:59, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Image:Sandiego.daytime.600pix.jpg

Hello Adrian. I've enjoyed seeing your many hundreds of images on Wikipedia. I was wondering: did you take this picture? Image:Sandiego.daytime.600pix.jpg Thanks, – Quadell (talk) (help) 21:26, Jan 6, 2005 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for noticing this oddity. No, I didn't take the pic (I've never been to the USA). I can't understand how I failed to name the copyright situation and regrettably I haven't the slightest idea where it came from. I am certain PD photos of San Diego are easy to come by so please just remove it and I'll find another soon. Best Wishes - Adrian Pingstone 23:02, 6 Jan 2005 (UTC)

image:2001.ford.granada.2.8ghia.x.arp.750pix.jpg

You list this car as a 2001 but the article claims that the car was discontinued in 1994. I am confused. Rmhermen 19:39, Jan 7, 2005 (UTC)

I've realised what I did. I looked up the number plates Y letter as though it were a prefix (on a UK registrations website) and got 2001. I should have looked up Y suffix which is 1982. Sorry for the stupid mistake. I'll correct the pic caption tomorrow (bedtime now) - Adrian Pingstone 23:54, 7 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you! I'm new here, but I've already come across your name--and your great contribution. Thanks again! Bijan

Bijan, it's really nice when my work is noticed. Thank you for writing. Best Wishes, Adrian - Adrian Pingstone 10:20, 8 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Thanks again

Another thank you for your hard work providing photographs to the WP. I particularly like your recent car photos such as the Jag XJS. Cheers. akaDruid 13:45, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Calcot Grange

Nice pic but:

 • surely, surely this is a locomotive not a train
 • saved at rather too high a resolution for use on the web. I saved it at the compresion level I normally use for web images and the file size came down from 114K bytes to 66K bytes. (I haven't actually seen what Wiki's view is about the size of image files - but I am sure they have one.)

Pleased to see you using your real name and giving your pic on your user page. I was beginning to think I was alone in those two respects. RHaworth 09:29, 2005 Jan 15 (UTC)

Perhaps my second point is unnecessary - others seem to appreciate your photos at the compression level you are using. Apologies too for my recent unnecessary edit to your steel drum pic. I now realise that on Image description pages the 'What links here' on the left don't work - you need to look lower down the description page. -- RHaworth 10:22, 2005 Jan 15 (UTC)

My comment was not about where you had used the picture but what you had called it. That was all. What would you think if I put up a close-up of spoiler and called it 'wing.Boeing.737...jpg?

Thanks for the info. on image sizes - I may be more generous in future. Wiki is very clever at dynamically re-sizing. But my feeling is that I am happy to release a reduced size version to PD but retain the copyright on the full scale version. Even though a. I usually shoot at only 1024x768 and b. my pics aren't worth ripping off anyway. Cheers - RHaworth 11:00, 2005 Jan 16 (UTC)

Allard picture

Dear Adrian

Your picture of an Allard car is very nice, but it is incorrectly labelled. It is actually a P-type (also known as a P1) saloon. I edited the description, but was unable to change the title of the picture on the main Allard page. I am new to Wikipedia, so I hope that I haven't breached any etiquette by doing so. Kind regards, Marcus Allard

Marcus, you got it absolutely right (etiquette-wise) because you let me know the problem and what changes you had made. To change the pic caption (or make any other edit) in an article is easy, just go to the article, click on Edit page, make the change to the article, check it looks OK with Show preview, if OK click on Save page. Don't forget to say in the Edit summary what you did. Best Wishes, Adrian - Adrian Pingstone 08:50, 19 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons

I was going to move some of your images to Wikimedia Commons (of Bristol, as it happens). I would, however, be credited as the uploader - though I would, of course, credit you as the photographer and original uploader to Wikipedia. For this reason, I am asking you whether you would prefer to reupload your pictures to Commons yourself? You being credited as the uploader would not be the only advantage - you could also upload high-resolution versions of images already uploaded as 750px. PLease give me any opinions/feedback. --Oldak Quill 17:55, 19 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Resize warnings

I have been removing the resize warnings you have been adding to some of your images. If the resize links are generated in error (they aren't for me) then this is a minor bug with MediaWiki, and something that should be taken up on http://bugzilla.wikipedia.org. As the image will be cached locally by the user's browser, clicking on the download link will not waste any of their time or wikipedia bandwidth, so all we are doing is setting up the task of having to remove all these messages at a later date! ed g2stalk 15:30, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)
