Thank you for removing the vandalism about the Patriots cheating. I don't know when this kid will realize that it does not belong there! Thanks again! America69 (talk) 14:14, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mississippi Election Discussions

Now that the courts have decided both of Mississippi's Senate elections will be held on the same day, I have opened a new discussion about merging the two articles.
Talk:United States Senate election in Mississippi, 2008#Merge 3
I have also opened a debate about potentially splititng the special election controversy section into it's own article. Talk:United States Senate special election in Mississippi, 2008#Split Controversy Section Please read over each debate and weigh them on their individual merits. The subjects are not necessarily linked to each other.--Dr who1975 (talk) 23:15, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help

{{helpme}} Could anyone find my edit count for me. I can't seem to get it. Thanks. America69 (talk) 02:53, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Go to Special:Preferences and look at the number next to "Number of edits". Also, new posts on a talk page go to the bottom, not the top, which is why I moved this. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshells•Otter chirps) 03:00, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Response concerning '08 opinion polling map

That's definitely where I'm leaning, yeah. Although, I was going to use just two colors no matter how slim the margin is, and the margin of the projection would be posted on the state (along with postal abbreviation and electoral vote total). This would be for all states. If I were to use gray for toss-up states, a certain range would have to be defined in order to determine what states should be colored gray. -- Fifty7 (talk) 22:51, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just finished putting together the new map, it'll be on the article soon. It's just two colors and the margins of projected victory are clearly presented with each state, so as to not misrepresent the information. -- Fifty7 (talk) 02:35, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It basically has to do with the fact that there's only been three polls in the past month in Florida, Rasmussen having McCain up 8 with a sample size of 500, ARG having Obama up 5 with a sample size of 600, and Quinnipiac having Obama up 4 with a sample size of 1453, all within a period of five days. The overall polling average has McCain at +1.1%, but just averaging all the polls doesn't make statistical sense. Silver's latest methodology is a bit more sensitive to trends and day-to-day developments, so Obama has a tiny lead in what is pretty much a virtual tie at the moment. -- Fifty7 (talk) 04:21, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RFA !votes

(Re [1]) Thanks, but it's best to indent duplicate votes rather than remove them completely. (Don't worry, I made this mistake before also). –xenocidic (talk) 14:05, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Typically you just need to add a colon after the #hash. –xenocidic (talk) 14:09, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Another tip: when replying to RFA comments, make sure you precede your ":" with a "#" (i.e. "#:") to ensure the numbering works properly. (See [2]). –xenocidic (talk) 20:17, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxen

You're getting lots of tips today! Did you know you don't have to copy the entire code for a userbox onto your page? You can just transclude it be using the code {{location of userbox here}}. For example, the most recent userbox you added to your page could've been added simply by adding {{User:LightSpectra/Userboxes/MT}} to your page. This should help keep your userpage less cluttered. –xenocidic (talk) 20:20, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! You might want to go re-find all those userboxen too and clean up your page code a bit. –xenocidic (talk) 22:07, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hey thanks! =) cheers. –xenocidic (talk) 22:11, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New userpage

Pretty good but you might want to use tables to tame those userboxen. See my userboxen subpage for an example. –xenocidic (talk) 22:38, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help

Hi. Could you do me a favor and review the United States Senate election in Oregon, 2008. I removed a polling part that included two candidates that have dropped out. Another editor reverted the edit. The point is , that with the candidated gone, why should it be kept there. It really serves no purpose. I came to you because you have been helpful to me in the past, and I was hoping you could look into this issue. Please respond on my talk page, as I am pasting what I put here on to there. Thank you so much. America69 (talk) 18:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

as a self-confessed Canadian, I'm trying to stay as far away from any disputes regarding the U.S. elections as I can. However, I would gather they should be left in the table for historical reasons...the polls did occur, and there were results with respect to those candidates. make sense? –xenocidic (talk) 18:06, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: RfA page

Heh, basically you just have to create a user subpage. The easiest way to do it is to make a red link to User:America69/RfA criteria, write whatever you want in there and click save. Wisdom89 (T / C) 19:40, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jean Latone

It is not vandalism. That is just how i write in a stream of conciousness mode. I suggest you look at the entire corpus of my works, esp. those I wrote on court cases. Then I dare you to call me a mindless troll. Until then, please back off. JeanLatore (talk) 03:28, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, you write English like a non-native speaker. That "America" username you have must have been meant as irony or sarcasm. JeanLatore (talk) 03:32, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ah! In past comments you said you had a "close friend" that was autistic. I think that "close friend" is yourself. You are autistic just like me, no? I can tell from your typing that either you are austistic or foreign. (I am both). JeanLatore (talk) 03:34, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA votes

I've noticed you've been jumping into RfAs extremely quickly and making votes almost immediately. In some cases, it looks like you've had to remove your vote rather quickly due to an error. It doesn't hurt to wait a bit, read everything, check out contribs, and make a vote a little bit later. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 19:34, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Although you can vote any way you want, you should be spending at last a minimal amount of time going through contribs to properly review that candidate, like Irid did for the last candidate. I'd go as far to see as making a personal policy for yourself that you won't vote on a candidate after reviewing them for at the very least 5-10 minutes, unless you are totally familiar with their contrib history. In a recent case you went from "Strong" support to oppose in the course of 2 minutes. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 19:39, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
