Canadian Forces Military Police

Hi Moxy,

In reference to your description of the Canadian Forces Military Police (CFMP) I think it is important for you to know that some things have changed. The biggest change being that the CFMP have now been added to the Criminal Code under section 2 (g)(i) giving the Military Police Federal Police status similar to that of the RCMP. Most Provinces in Canada, with the exceptions being Ontario and Quebec, now recognize CFMP not only as a Federal Police Service, but also swear them under the Province of duty as Provincial police officers under that Provinces Police Act giving them police powers throughout that Province. Although MP jurisdiction is on military establishments across Canada and throughout the world, any civilian accessing these areas falls under MP jurisdiction and are dealt with in the same manner as any civilian policing agency. It is important to note though that the purpose of the CFMP is not to replace the job of a civilian police officer, but rather to support the Canadian Forces through security and policing services. Also another noteworthy thing for you is that as of 1 Apr 2011, the CFMP will no longer fall under the chain of command for the respective CF Base, but will now fall directly under the command of the Canadian Forces Provost Marshal. Essentially this means we have a Chief of Police, who I might add attends and holds a chair at every Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police meeting or conference.

I hope this was helpful and may persuade you to update your information.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.234.176.146 (talk) 18:38, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Queries .....

Moxy,

You remember the thread I started on the WP:WikiProject Council on the possible merger between WP:WikiProject Espionage and WP:WikiProject Intelligence? I'm not sure about the founder of WikiProject Intelligence, because I've had very little communication with the founder and I do not what is going on with the WikiProject Intelligence. Just something doesn't feel right, not just the founder but it's the Portal for it as well and there is no communication or very little between the members. Maybe I am over reacting here. I'm also doing an article on my subpage (not finished updating it) and would be willing to replace the WP Espionage into the WP Intelligence on his original main page. Hope you can get somewhere with what I've brought up and I'd be appreciated if you took the time to find out what is happening with the WP Espionage and WP Intelligence. Thanks for the welcome

Thank you for making me feel welcome to Wikipedia. I have to admit at first I thought maybe I should just leave. But for sure I want to make and edit to the Elizabeth Taylor article. And I will be around until I can. My own deceased mother would be proud if I did because she loved Elizabeth Taylor! I guess everyone is lured in for some reason, this is what made me hit the register an account button. And for your welcome, I might not feel guilty for staying. Thank you. The Signpost interview

WAY too many Canadian biographies unattended

Hey Moxy, sometimes when my ADD kicks up, I do "busy work" on Wikipedia, while watching TV or whatnot. Often I go through this following list of biographies of musicians where there may be a photo of the subject, but it still has no an infobox. Then I cleanup the article (mostly stubs) and build and populate an infobox for the article, too. This: [ Category:Musicians work group articles needing infoboxes] ia what I type into the search engine here. Since Opera and articles about classical music or composers use a different kind of infobox I skip them. But let me get to the point: there are more damned aricles about Canadians (especially in jazz) than have "articles" consisting of three sentences! And just about 1/3 of all the articles that I check through, are about Canadians. What frankly pisses me off, is that it seems editors from that workgroup don't have the time to just tag the articles with an unsourced banner, or add even one reference, but the talk page liberally has sprawling Canada, Toronto, Ontario, --whatever banners all over the talk page. I know it isn't you, but I know you keep in touch with everyone. I've long felt that the Wikipedia editors are too quick to pat newbie editors on the back for starting articles, but almost nothing for finishing them-- at least to C status. Sorry. I just had to get this off my chest because it's very frustrating having to wade through a zillion of those articles! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 05:27, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I completely agree with what your saying - when it comes to jazz, Opera and classical artist you will find that because of ownership problems steaming from Wikipedia:WikiProject Composers#Biographical infoboxes that our new editors get bitten and leave while old editors simply avoid this articles altogether because of endless conflict. All we can do is try and keep our newbies from being bitten by this out of wake ownership problems...Its realy to bad that a few editors have cause a whole group of articles to be ignored. Moxy (talk) 11:33, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed! I actually had been planning to ask you about how I can get more involved with discussing things with other editors. For example, I wouldn't know what to do with the Village Pump. Never been there; got maybe 10 editors total that even have had any contact with me. I don't even know what the tern Rfa (? sp?) means in Wikipedia. I have so many ideas, too! I feel all articles should be required to be up to C level if someone starts the damned things.
My first plaec i was hanging around was at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council from here you learn lots .Moxy (talk) 15:36, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
ALSO, I contact every single photographer for permission to upload their photos to Wikimedia Commons; but we only accept two of the six Creative Commons licenses (basically saying they are the photographer and a link back to their work). The astute photographer is saying, why am I giving up commercial use, when this new Wikibook thing will garner a probable steady income for Wikipedia without them even getting credit in the photo captions. WTH am I supposed to say to people who turned down book offers-- all my early Rolling Stones and Jaco Pastorius uploads that were not intended to be used commercially when I secured permission for them. How do I answer these people? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 14:26, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is a hard one - because yes people sell paper back versions of Wikipedia articles - I personally would tell this people that its better to have one free image out-there they like (as in they have pic a nice faltering picture) rather then someone using a very unfaltering image-- you could give the example of Robert Goulet - we were using File:RobertGouletMay07.jpg for years - after his death someone contacted his wife (inprosuite of a better pic) and she was upset to see us using that horrible image - so she gave us permission to use File:Robert Goulet photo.jpg and/or File:Robert Goulet.jpg .15:36, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello

A while back, you created the Yukon Portal, but it's not 'active'. I've never been involved at "Portal" level, are portals supposed to have active members? There is so much to be done on this topic, but with such a small local population... it's always a challenge. It seems like a great source for Yukon articles is on the German Wikipedia, since they're our most involved tourists. Right now I have time to spare for Wikipedia, but my lifestyle does not allow me to be regular all year long... Any thoughts or suggestions? thanks--Tallard (talk) 07:38, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Portals are just to help navigate large topics - the Wikiprojects is were there is members are at - I take it you wish to add stuff? If you like i can help you there - 11:26, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
I've only been contributing to Wikipedia at a basic level, I would like to step it up and get involved in Canadian projects and portals more. I would greatly appreciate your mentoring :) I also make all my contributions 100% manually, I should probably step that up too.--Tallard (talk) 18:21, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I also do most things manually the only bot type things i use are
  • Reflinks - Edits bare references - adds title/dates etc. to bare references
  • Checklinks - Edit and repair external links
  • Dab solver - Quickly resolve ambiguous links.

like i say have any questions let me know - Ps there is also Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/Help for people to navigate the tutorial stuff.Moxy (talk)

Canadian Biographies needing help

Hi Moxy, how can I find a list of Canadian Biographies needing help?

Thanks, DonaldRichardSands (talk) 12:38, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thats a bit of a hard one - are most fucked up bios are Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/Unreferenced BLPs (ones missing sources) --- Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/Cleanup listing (not all bios but all have big problems) and Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/Popular pages a listing of the most viewed pages (again not all bios).Moxy (talk) 12

The commercial photo license thing

Yah... I left a very detailed explanation of photo ettiquete recently responding to questions from Ruhrfisch. I have many suggestions, some questioning Wikipedia policy for photos on the actual page, etc. Somehow I need to get into that grapevine here which I've done so much to avoid. Keeping the few barnstars on my userpage is the only way I get any respect from the younger sharks editors here. Thus far, my attempts at giving credit to the photographers is this: when uploading and giving the photo a file name, I include the photographer's name, like Thus, John Doe gets credit, AND if the same photographer allows us a dozen or more good photos, in Commons I begin a Category:Photos by Kirk Stauffer (which I did do for him). So those 2 things, plus, I ask editors to keep their names in the caption on the page until the article is reaching B-status, so the photographers can show off to friends and family, even though I tell them in advance that the name will be removed. I just feel that those handful of us who upload all these musician pics should be addressed regarding the Wikibooks. I personally feel that outside selling them to schools for kids, that it should not be done. I joined to provide a FREE encyclopedia. What happened to that?!! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 16:11, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian music page for sources/references/citations

Hey Moxy! I've been developing a citation/sources page at User:Argolin/Sources for a few months now. I use it to defend Canadian music articles against deletion at our music project's Article alerts page. I also use it when creating new articles and citing articles per the WolterBot clean up listings here [2]. There is more to be done (newspapers for each province, the french citations, record label section, etc). My page uses the Citation template (and it's derivatives) exclusively. Further, it places all references within the Reflist template. My question: should I develop it further for a page for the Canadian music project? Your thoughts? And of course others interested! Reply here to keep discussion in one place. Thanks. Argolin (talk) 07:02, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wow that's a great list - i say you move it to Wikipedia:WikiProject Canadian music/References like with Wikipedia:Canadian wikipedians' notice board/References were there is a few refs for music - but not manyMoxy (talk) 14:43, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Love it. I'll try to add. I still have some work to do on the page. Argolin (talk) 23:08, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Canadians

I started with "revision review for new and unregistered users", which means that while IP numbers and newly-registered usernames can technically still edit the article, their changes won't be visible until a "reviewer" (almost anybody who's been around for long enough to be trustworthy) goes over them to accept or reject. We can always escalate the protection if the problem continues, but since the primary issue seems to be with IPs rather than established users, it's best to start with the least restrictive option possible. I have recently begun a new article Apocalypse (Bible movie) but have discovered that it is a duplication of topic. See Apocalypse Revelation. I need some help in integrating the two so only one exists. DonaldRichardSands (talk) 16:30, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Arctic ocean, ice feed back

Why did you remove my edit. Wikipedia has an excellent article on solar insolation. Except for a few weeks at mid summer, the solar insolation in polar areas averages only a few tens of watts per meter squared. In contrast, thermal radiation from an unfrozen arctic ocean is on the order of 300 Watt/meter square vs only 200 Watt/meter squared for back ice. The difference in thermal radiation which cools the planet greatlly exceeds solar insulation. If you disagree, show your calculations

women's hockey task force

Thanks Moxy for your support. You are very kind. We should discuss this on the talk page of WikiProject Ice Hockey and create a women's hockey task force when there is consensus with the another persons. The guidelines state that 5 members is a good starting point. If no one opposes the new taskforce, I will start it up when we have 5 confirmed members. Copyright concern

Hi Moxy,

I have received a copyright concern regarding the picture of Mohammad Raad voting. I have been attempting to help with the Random Biographies project. One that I have worked on is for the article Mohammad Raad. I noticed that the Government of Lebanon's Parliamentary Office released a photo of Mohammad Raad voting. The picture came from http://newshopper.sulekha.com/mohammad-raad_photo_867494.htm

In this photo they clearly state the parliamentary source. Also note that no copyright is stated.

Even AP when they present a photo released by the Lebanese parliament do not give a copyright. See this:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/11/11/world/main2174426.shtml

I believe that the photo is not copyrighted, or if it is, it is released by the parliament that holds the copyright.

Of course, this biography is not of much value to me except as I have attempted to help in this wikipedia project.

Any thoughts or guidance?

I am glad Novice thought of you. I was just coming to make a similar request. I have tried setting up the article assessment, but I am not sure it has been done correctly since it is a task force rather than a WikiProject. Feel free to check out the task force talk page to address any concerns. Also, if you are interested in helping to put together Portal:Grammy Awards, feel free to let me/us know! Our Lady Peace band members image

Hi, I'm just leaving a message for you regarding the Our Lady Peace members image. I noticed your change, and was just wondering why you find it more aesthetically pleasing with two of the guys on top and two underneath? Also, I see you enlargened the images as well. Was it an issue of size mostly, perhaps? The reason I ask is that I personally feel that the landscape version looks and works better, particularly in the infobox. I reverted your changes for now, in hopes that we could discuss it and reach consensus before any change. If you like, I can also hunt for another free image that can perhaps show all the members together in one natural photo, which might be an easier solution. Your thoughts? Thanks. — CIS (talk | stalk) 10:51, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fine i dont realy care - but the image is so small that it can hardly be seen - .but like i said i dont realy care it was a request to fix it to be normal size. Moxy (talk) 14:43, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, really? It looks sufficiently large on all the browsers/computers I've viewed it on. Can you print screen the article from your viewpoint so I can see how small it looks for some users? I didn't know it appeared so small to some. — CIS (talk | stalk) 00:47, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Women's ice hockey

Hi Moxy. I am from Nepean and could not help but notice that we have a mutual friend in Genevieve2. I have worked with her on several projects but I have been writing about women's ice hockey on wikipedia for several years myself. The best article I created has to be Canadian women's ice hockey history. I also write about women's ice hockey here. There are not too many wikipedians who write about women's ice hockey so I always look forward to communicating. OOOOO ok i see the problem your simply not sure what can be done -- First we cant upload this kind of images to Wikicommons - we can however upload them to Wikipedia by way of Wikipedia:Upload - as for licensing you will have to mimic what is at File:Coat of arms of Canada.svg and/or File:Coat of arms of the CHA.jpg -- simply need to follow what is at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline by using Template:Non-free use rationale.Moxy (talk) 05:31, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Sorry, I am new here, and I really don't know many things about it, but I am pretty sure that this is not the only Template with coloured links. Yes this is a problem we have having lately - Links should clearly be identifiable as a link to our readers - having them all differnt colors mean people will no know they are a link unless they happen to move there mouse over them. Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

Thank you for urging editors to exercise restraint in deleting verifiably accurate content. Your help is needed on the article concerning the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. An editor who attempted to delete the entire British America article has deleted enormous portions of the content relating to the British and English influences on the law, religion and persons associated with the development of the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, the emergence of the historically important King Charles II charter for the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations and its emergence as a sanctuary for Jews and others not favored by the Puritans of Massachusetts and Anglicans in other parts of colonial New England - clearly without first examining the content for actual relevance. Unfortunately, an administrator has intervened also without apparently having reviewed the corroborating content that shows the relevance of these events, people and influences on the constitutional development of the colonial period concerning the U.S.

Moxy and others, I am interested in this Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations but am myself new to editing on Wikipedia. I noticed that the article has been locked until the conflict is resolved. What is the correct protocol for offering help in such disputes? Thanks DonaldRichardSands (talk) 13:07, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikibooks and copyright

I began editing and then also finding photos for biography- musician articles. From the start, photographers were often leery about allowing use of their photos, since to do so, they must give up their copyright, and the best we can offer them is to connect their name and place where it was found. I've had to deal with this issue over years, resulting in 1,500 photos (and that many emails to the photographers, too. Creative Commons has 6 licenses. We only accept 2 of them --providing their name, and doing it with a link back to the source, but we do not agree not to alter the photo, nor do we agree not to use them commercially. In the past, I've told the photographersf that money is needed run our servers, for example.

My question is this: there are editors racing to take our hard work and make them into wikibooks-- which I thought was supposed to be for an online free encyclopedia. What about attribution for the photos? How are the sound bites going to work? When and where are these books in process going to be sold, and where will the money go? Who is overseeing the production of the books? And, how can anybody possibly provide the necessary link back to the photo's source (required in a CC-BY-SA 2.0 Creative Commons licensed photo? This is all without even considering the non-free photos that must have a rationale statement- as with publicity photos and album covers. Can you please help tell me with how this is supposed to work within the law, and who might financially profit from assembling the books? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 14:16, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's about whether or not Brown's domestic violence case should be divided into its own section, should go back to how it was originally combined with his career, or is placed well where it is now. The edits made on my behalf were made as an attempt to standardise the template with the rest of the Commonwealth nations pages and others that use the specific template. It is a lot cleaner and in fact a modern edition of the template most commonly in use. Krazytea(talk) 03:31, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry i did not comment - though it was vandalize again - As for the reason - we have Template:Largest cities of Canada already - that is not the same as Template:Largest Metropolitan Areas of Canada - they cover 2 very different areas of land (see List of the 100 largest municipalities in Canada by population, List of the 100 largest urban areas in Canada by population, List of the 100 largest metropolitan areas in Canada, List of the 100 largest cities and towns in Canada by area). Also we have a consensus not to use images on the Template:Largest Metropolitan Areas of Canada as it was specify made for the article Canada as per an FA review were it was determined that its not needed (simply over imaging) .Moxy (talk) 05:46, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How to make a Portal

Hello Moxy, I've seen how much experience you've in making Wikipedia portals. If you've any time, then please give me some details about "how to make a portal", I was thinking to make one on Asian Games. Its a great topic with plenty of opportunities and need attention. I'd really appreciate if you help me on this, Thanks. Bill william comptonTalk 10:02, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Portals Asian Games

Ok here is how i tell people what to do.......go ahead and start i will jumpin were need be.Moxy (talk) 20:35, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Step one

First we search to find the page we wish to create...we then click on the red link like this one-->Portal:Asian Games and past in what is bellow..and save page!!

<small>browsebar<small/>
__NOTOC____NOEDITSECTION__
<div style="float:right; width:100%">

</div>
<div style="text-align:center; margin:0.25em auto 0.75em">Show new selections below... (purge)</div>
<div style="float:right; width:55%;"> <!-- This width add to the the margin below to equal 99%-->

</div>

<div style="width:44%; float:left;">

</div>

<div style="clear:both; width:100%">

portals
<center>Purgepage</center>
__NOTOC__ __NOEDITSECTION__
PartofWPMUSIC

Step 2

We now have to add codes to 2 of the e subpages to make the layout work! In the red link named -->Portal:Asian Games/box-footer we have to add the code below.

{{Portal:box-footer | {} }}

The next code is for the colors that you can choose ... we need to place the code below in Portal:Asian Games/box-header.

{{Portal:Box-header | title={}
|editpage={}
|border=#aaaaaa <!-- This is the color of the borders around Box Sections -->
|titleforeground=white <!-- This is the color of the Box Section Title Bar text -->
|titlebackground=#aaccff <!-- This is the color of the Box Section Title Bar -->
|background=#f9f9ff <!-- This is the color of the Box Section background -->
|foreground=black}} <!-- This is the color of the Box Section text -->
So your done coding now need to fill all the boxs with info  :) those red links...

Adding a second and/or third selection.... ok so as of now there is 1 box for each section selected ...to change/Add more selection/a second box ... we need to Up the max=1 number to make more selections for each one that can do that... the code on the main page is --> {{Random portal component |max=1 .... So change |max=1 to |max=2 etc... save page purge and they will appear.

Hey Moxy, thanks for your constructive intervention on the portal, I'm immature in portal making but trying my best, tell me seriously how's it look? some feedback would be appreciated; also would you please give me some guidance over this red-linked field of portal–"Portal:Asian Games/Selected event/1", I don't know what to fill in here.--Bill william comptonTalk 14:23, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Links to Portal
Hi Moxy, now I've started linking Asian Games related articles to Asian Games portal, but the problem is that the link box doesn't show symbol of Asian Games but this:-

I'm thinking to add this symbol of Asian Games (this is a free image on Commons but by mistake under "non-free rationale" here):-

Please help me on this, thanks. --Bill william comptonTalk 05:49, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry things are not working out for you - i see that the reverts to some of your additions are due to the use of blogs and forum as references. Would be best to read over Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources and WP:NEWSBLOG. Again if you have any questions pls ask.Moxy (talk) 04:01, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ma'am, launching a vendetta against me isn't going to help you as it isn't going to stop me from what I'm doing...i' m quite aware of the rules as i've used wikipedia for some time now. if you want we can debate whether spencer is a reliable source, which i'm happy to do, but apparently you don't want to (at least not now) so i guess that'll have to wait for another time.Sleetman (talk) 04:28, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am tiring to help you and your basically telling me to go fuck myself - Not sure if your aware of what is even being said or if you have even read and of the links i have provided for you? Would be best to try and sty calm Moxy (talk)
Ma'am, I'm as calm as still water. As I said, writing a sentence like "liberal-leaning is only a bad thing in the US, but is seen as a positive thing by the rest of the world" doesn't help you at all when it comes to you acting like an arbiter of encyclopedic neutrality. If you want to launch a revision vendetta against me, that's fine as I doubt you'll get far. Sleetman (talk) 04:40, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, you should have a look at my User page. :)Sleetman (talk) 04:53, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Pls just read Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources and WP:NEWSBLOG and you will see that references like The Angry Arab News Service is not what we consider a reliable source and as for this edition on your user page pls see Wikipedia:Harassment and Wikipedia:No personal attacks as there is no need for you to be blocked over this.Moxy (talk) 04:58, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Point taken, I've made the necessary changes and you're username doesn't come up anywhere on my talkpage. :)Sleetman (talk) 05:04, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Irreligion

Dear Moxy, thus far, you are the only other user that has commented on the situation at the talk page of the irreligion article. Could you further expand on why or why not the study is or is not relevant to the Irreligion or Irreligion in the United States article? Thanks in advance. I look forward to seeing your comments at the talk page there. With regards, AnupamTalk 01:48, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Spencer (author)

Thanks for your reverts of self-published blog material. I've tried to clean up the article a bit, removed the same materials you removed (again), added missing citations, and rearranged sections for consistency. This page has been a real problem for some time now, considering the controversial nature of the subject, so thanks for your help.Jemiljan (talk) 16:47, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes hes doing this alot - despite being told - wont even respond on his talk page about the concerns editors are all having.Moxy (talk) 19:04, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
He's done it AGAIN! This time providing a link to what he claims is "consensus" but it's nothing of the sort. Quite the contrary. What to do? It seems that it's not the only page he is doing this on.Jemiljan (talk) 07:19, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just to note that User:Jonathanwallace has significantly revised the "criticism" section on the Robert Spencer (author page, but I would really appreciate your input. User: Sleetman has been continuing some of his rather unreasonable activity as well. An extensive discussion has been started on the talk page, in case you'd like to contribute.Jemiljan (talk) 23:13, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Justin Bieber

Greetings Moxy,

This is Amelia Crane and I work with StoneRose who recently had a benefit for Japan that involved Justin Biebers Hair. As several people know, he gave hair clipping to Ellen Degeneres and said that he hoped it would go to a good cause. At which point it sold for $40,668 on ebay. It was bought by Golden Palace who loaned it to StoneRose for our event. We were wondering if there was any way we could mention this in Biebers Bio. If you would like some more information on it I can send you everything I have.

His hair raise a lot of money and not just once but twice and so we thought that we should mention it to you and see if anything can be done.

Please let me know. My e-mail is --- Thanks, Amy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cranegamelia (talk • contribs) 17:08, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:LOUD HARD FAST and WILD.ogg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion () tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi Moxy, what's going on? Well, I'm not so sure about this, but if you check out the last message given to me on my talk page, their seems to be an interest in a wikiproject for this girl. So, if you're interested, maybe you can check it out and see if it's good to go (i.e. you actually creating it!). If not, that's okay too. Either way, thanks, and I'll see you later! Carlos Santana amd other photo uploads

I remember you were working on Santana. I just uploaded a couple great pics. The best one I added to the article, but the other isn't used yet. They are here in Commons: [3] and [4]-- that 2nd one is the best. Anyway, I thought you might like to move them to wherever they are needed. Also, there's a bunch of Thin Lizzy band and individual artist photos I uploaded, too. Thin Lizzy just passed to GA-status. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 02:33, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Tea Party

Hey Moxy, Can I ask why you renamed The Tea Party to The Tea Party (band)? Argolin (talk) 08:17, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was request - I would guess because of the American Tea Party -- That said the user is now blocked for POV editing so i dont think anyone would care if we moved it back - i did this to fast did not relizes who asked me to do it .Moxy (talk) 15:47, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The band has been around for donkey years. I don't see how, now all of a sudden, there could be any confusion between this band and whatever the hell else the other articles are named. So yeah, move back please? Thanks. Argolin (talk) 04:52, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Nickelbackrules1518 and Nickelback

I am Mad Hatter. I can see that you are respected Wikipedian and while I can't vaunt with barnstars I think my edits speak for themselves. The problem is how do we stop this hipster? I sent a report at Wikiquette and I kindly ask for your help. This user has been terrorizing the article the last couple of months. While some of his work is appreciated, the most is not. From what I have seen in my seven-year tenure here, I can say that every now and then some kind of "yo-yo" comes on board and starts slapping useless scrap on articles. Can we do something? I ask for your timely help and hope to see you backing up the report. Thank you beforehand.

Hey Moxy, I've just made a new portal on a previously existed namespace. If you have any time then take a look there, because I'm not sure about the color combination, I think background color should be more recognizable, like we've on Portal:Asian Games (according to the official emblem of Games), I'm sure you would have some better idea as this topic is mutually related to us. — Bill william comptonTalk 14:46, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nickelback

Ok the title says it all, I knew you guys were getting pissed at me because of the music style in the Nickelback (Wikipedia) I deleted. Please don't edited no more and if you have something to say about it I'll edited to fix it. Also, Nickelback didn't got their mainstream success on 2003, they got in 2001. Anyways, leave it how it is and thanks for your occupation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nickelbackrules1518 (talk • contribs) 21:16, 16 May 2011 (UTC) Please don't edited no more and if you have something to say about it I'll edited to fix it- pls see Wikipedia:Ownership of articles.Moxy (talk) 22:08, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Beatles

I noticed your edit. It was very different than what I think would have been correct. I would have collapsed the honors. Should we have an RFC on this or bring it to a discussion somewhere else?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 02:01, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lets see what others have to say (if no one else talks we will move forward....i in no way believe that one of our FA article should have 21 templates at the bottom - most are over-links and to unrelated songs and albums.Moxy (talk) 02:11, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have contacted a bunch of projects to come and comment. I have readded just the honors (or honours in the Queen's English). I think the problem was in adding all the albums. I have seen no precedent for it among other singers or bands or in any other field. I know of no authors who have a separate template for each book, no movie directors who have a separate template for each movie, etc. However, the honors templates are standard on FAs. I think Grammys are to musicians as Oscars are to actors.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 02:45, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good to me --i will revert my edit on the MJ article...i hope there's not templates for awards from all over the world!Moxy (talk) 02:54, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
