Tee Ashira (born L’tecia Tee Ashira León Asensio, 24 September 1975) is a writer, actor, philanthropist, producer, and screen writer.[1][2][3] She is best known for penning the 2007 book Soul Ties, for her role in the 2012 film “C’mon Man,” and as the wife of former NFL football player Victor Hobson.[2][1][4] Ashira writes, directs, produces, and acts in the upcoming film adaptation of the book Soul Ties, slated for release in 2013.[1]
Early Childhood
Tee Ashira was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico.[5] She is married to former NFL player Victor Hobson and the mother of five children.[5]
Career
Tee Ashira is the writer of seven books, including Soul Ties I and II, Lazarus Rise!, Where is My Boaz?, The Favor of Sarah, This Walk: My Family and I, and Hosea the Whore and His Wife.[6] Ashira’s writing explores themes of faith, redemption, and healing.[7] She also explores personal themes - the stories in Soul Ties are “inspired by her own family and past.”[7][8]
In 2013, Ashira completed the film adaptation of Soul Ties.[7] She is the writer, director, and producer of the film, and also plays the role of “Terry.”[1][7] Ashira is the executive producer of the films “C’mon Man,” “Nothing But the Bests,” and the upcoming film “Cinderella Li” (2014).[7] Both Ashira and her husband Victor Hobson are executive producers for the entertainment development company AmVic Entertainment.[9]
Ashira plans to adapt all of her books to motion pictures.[1][7][8]
Philanthropy
In 2006, Ashira and Hobson formed the Hobson & Hobson Outreach and are supporters of the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.[5]
