- A fire at a COVID-19 hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, kills at least 82 people.
- The wreckage of KRI Nanggala, an Indonesian Navy submarine, is found in the Bali Sea, and all 53 people on board are confirmed dead.
- The Mars Oxygen In-Situ Resource Utilization Experiment on the Perseverance rover produces oxygen from carbon dioxide in the Martian atmosphere.
