Hello I am not fanatic like you guys. I am baffled by your prejudiced opinions. yes, I am referring to the same wikipedia link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dasavathaaram [go to box office section, it states 200cr]. On what basis, you claim that other movies have raked in that much amount - by your so called unreliable sources. if you do not have verifiable facts, you should not publish. unlike hindi film industry, tamil film industry does not tract BO collections. So do not publish such false information. I find some of the above comments from 'so called' volunteers insulting. I just want valid and verifiable information to be published, in fact this same page had dasavatharam and now it has been removed. even kochadayan is removed now which made more than 120cr. so kanchana 2 collected more than dasavatharam and kochadayan. Revision as of 04:33, 3 March 2016

this page is rubbish? all wrong facts?

its comical that dasavatharam the first tamil movie to make 200crore and went on to make 220++ crores is not in the list. but crap movies that didnt even touch 100 crores are found in the sh1t list. what the he11 is going on? is wikipedia a junk place? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.185.187.132 (talk) 09:07, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

THERE IS NOTHING HERE THAT IS SOURCED. Athu and ennaganna fanatics are updating this page with their own sh1t. it stinks. wikipedia is wasting their money and resources on some thugs and rowdies who provide false information. delete this page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.185.187.132 (talk) 09:11, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

58.185.187.132 Wikipedia is not a soapbox, and there is no justification for leaving two complaints four minutes apart for a problem that you could help fix, if in fact it were incorrect. This is a volunteer project, not a paid one, as you assume, so if you want to see something changed you're free to volunteer your time to dig up reliable sources (i.e. sources with established reputations for fact checking, not blogs) that support the information. You should be aware that all box office values for Indian films are estimations, not incontrovertible facts, so any box office information should be taken with a grain of salt anyway. Most of the content in the article is sourced, so I don't understand your complaint that nothing is sourced. It's also unclear what Tamil film you're specifically referring to. This one? I don't see 200crore+ being sourced there. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 09:49, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well said Cyphoidbomb. Yes we are just volunteers and not getting paid for any info that we provide to this page (with reliable source). There's alot of difference to be fanatic and wiki editor. For me I just want to provide the right info for our viewers. 58.185.187.132 if you have any info with reliable source about your concern please leave us a message and we will check and bring it up to the list. Thanks AK Mathan (talk) 05:27, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dasavathaaram only says 100+ crore so yeah, any helpful information would be useful to a number of articles. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 06:25, 22 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please Update - Highest grossing Marathi films Section

Hello,

I think the section in this wiki page named as "Highest grossing Marathi films" has a missing movie record. The missing record is of the movie "Katyar Kaljat Ghusali" which is a recent marathi movie and has already grossed more than 29 Crores as per mentioned in your wiki page- 'https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyar_Kaljat_Ghusali_(film)'.

Kindly review and update the sections.

Thanks!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yog025 (talk • contribs)

Not done - Unfortunately, I had to remove the box office value from that article because it was not attributed to a reliable published source. The value was attributed to this, which looks like a standard cookie-cutter blog, not a reputable news publication. And I don't know about you, but it looks to me like the Warner Bros. logo appears in the browser tab, which only suggests an amateurish operation. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:05, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your information but assure you I will come again with a genuine source and ask you to update those changes. It might look an amateurish operation to you but it is of great significance to me as I expect wikipedia to show right information to its audience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yog025 (talk • contribs)

highest grossing tamil movie Mankatha is 130 crores http://behindwoods.com/tamil-movie-news-1/dec-11-04/mankatha-ajith-23-12-11.html & http://www.kollyinsider.com/2011/12/mankatha-total-box-office-collection.html

Not done: We don't use primary sources (the film producers, for example) for contentious data like box office gross, because a producer would have a vested interest in inflating or deflating these values. Both sources attribute the 130c numbers to Sun Pictures. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 10:15, 10 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Vedalam should be included in the Tamil list

Vedalam should be included in the Tamil list. In Andhraboxoffice.com, the collections of Vedalam are shown as 125.7 crores. So it will definitely find a place in the Top10 Tamil list. Andhraboxoffice.com is the only authentic source for Telugu movies. It collects information from producers and distributors. Sometimes, other media sources exaggerate the collections but Andhraboxoffice.com provides exact figures. Sometimes, it gives collection reports of Tamil movies also. Almost all the reliable sources including IBTimes, Times of India, The Indian Express, take reference from Andhraboxoffice.com. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhuvannalla (talk • contribs) 16:45, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
