In the Global gross figures, language of RRR is shown as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu. RRR is shot only in Telugu language and dubbed into Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam languages. So, please remove Hindi and Tamil from the list.

@Ihsan thamarasseri: We only mention the collection from theaters (box office), not other sources like satellite rights etc. The Hindustan Times source clearly says According to a report in Manorama, the film has collected ₹175 crore from theatres and fetched ₹13 crore from its digital streaming rights. Hi Fylindfotberserk Can you please make changes in Malayalam movies list. Because many sources are provided is not reliable according to wikipedia. In the sources its clearly says the figure according to producer or the poster is released by the film crew. In the nearby time someone has tottally changed the list make it as a fake list. @Paavamjinn We tend to not use figures that are provided by the producer or the crew because those figures are often skewed from what they actually are so that is why we rely on secondary reporting. Hope that helps! SP013 (talk) 02:42, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

SP013 In the case of Madhura Raja in the article itself it states that the boxoffice figures is according to the producer. In the case of Kurup (film) the source used is Filmibeat which is not reliabke according to wikipedia. Under section "Highest Grossing Franchises" we technically can't include the other language remakes of Dabaang, and Singham if they aren't done by the same Directors, or publically acknowledged as the same series by the filmmakers. All the remakes share same source material, so that's no big issue, imo. For example, List of highest-grossing films#Highest-grossing franchises and film series, a featured list includes both Japanese and American versions of Godzilla, even though they are not directly related to each other.

However, the overlapping film series need some clean up. Question is whether:

a Mention both the combined franchise and the individual series separately

(or)

b. Split off overlapping series in entirety by deleting the combined franchise

Option a does have a precedent in the above list. It features both MCU and Spider-Man, and DCEU and Batman.

No precedent for option b since its not ideal to discredit the source material. Media franchise by definition is "several derivative works have been produced from an original creative work of fiction". But this definition fails when applied to Housefull (film series) and Baaghi (film series) where individual entries themselves are remakes of different films.

Any action would revamp the table completely, so inviting active members of ICTF for input. @Fylindfotberserk, Kailash29792, Ravensfire, Sid95Q, DaxServer, DareshMohan, and SP013:

Franchises in question are:

1. Singam: Singam (film series) (Tamil) and Cop Universe (Hindi)
2. Dabangg: Dabangg (film series) (Hindi) and Gabbar Singh (Telugu)
3. Don: Don (franchise) (Hindi), Billa (film series) (Tamil), and Yugandhar-Billa (Telugu)

Ab207 More or so I think we should go with option A by doing the series individually. The Singam Series should be split up into two separate series' on the table because even though for the first part it is the same in Tamil, the rest of the films in the series are all based on different films and combining that gross with the Tamil Singam series does not seem viable. For Dabangg and Gabbar Singh those should also be split into individual ones because except for the first film the other films in their respective series are different. For Don, we can delete the old Tamil version and Telugu versions from the list as they do not fall under that "series" of films while making the Don and Billa Tamil series' individual because then again the second part is different from each other. @SP013: Yeah but just a note that franchises don't necessarily have to be a "series." They can be remakes/reboots/spin-offs etc also. In the above example, Lion King franchise includes both 1994 film and its 2019 remake. Same is the case with Godzilla which includes every film that is based on Godzilla, though they are unrelated or not a series.

Hi Folks, there is a small correct on this "highest-grossing Indian films", so here in 2nd place we see Bahubali 2 Movie and in that it's language shows as Telugu and Tamil, but we have to remove Tamil, bcz it was not Tamil Movie, it's from Telugu, it was just dubbed in Tamil, Malyalam, Hindi...etc so why don't we put all languages then? why only Tamil? so it's wrong Info, kindly remove Tamil, else Wiki is not correct, thank you Murthi.DN (talk) 03:31, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
