Stedman Pearson (born Stedman Pearson Jr., 29 June 1964 in Romford, England) is an English singer, and former member of the pop group, Five Star.

Career

Stedman Pearson is the eldest of the five Pearson siblings, and has a background in dance and fashion. He left college to join his sisters and younger brother in Five Star in 1983. His main role in the group, as well as backing singer, was designing their glittering stage costumes for TV appearances and concerts, which became a trademark as they broke into the mainstream music industry in 1985.

He holds only one credit as lead vocalist in Five Star. "Feelings", from their eponymous 1990 album was written and produced by him. He co-wrote and co-produced b-sides for their single releases, including "Stone Court" (an instrumental named after their Berkshire mansion) and "Pure Energy", the flipside of one of their biggest hits, "System Addict".

After the group shrunk to a trio on 2001, Pearson joined his sisters, Denise and Lorraine in performing as Five Star at live gigs until 2006.

In September 2006, Pearson appeared on TV in the UK on the Channel 5 programme The All Star Talent Show, showcasing his recently resurrected ballet skills before a live studio and home audience. His sister, Denise Pearson, appeared on the show in the audience - and it was pointed out by presenter Andi Peters that it was the first time the two had appeared together on TV for eleven years. Viewers voted him in third place.

Pearson was also one of the contestants on the BBC programme Celebrity Scissorhands in 2008, where he cut and styled hair in aid of Children in Need.
