Qadsia Sporting Club (Arabic: نادي القادسية الرياضي) is primarily an association football club. Based in Kuwait City, Qadsia Club is one of the most popular clubs in Kuwait. Al Qadsia was founded in 1953 and it was called Al Jazira before being renamed to Qadsia SC in 20 October 1960. Qadsia currently plays in the Kuwaiti Premier League and has won this league 16 times.
Qadsia plays in the Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium, which is in Hawalli, and is the largest stadium in Kuwait. Qadsia has the second biggest fan base in Kuwait and a large fan base in the gulf region and Arab world. The rivals team of Qadsia is Al-Arabi SC and Kuwait SC.
History
Club Foundation and publicity
Was to establish Qadsia several objectives : Dissemination of education and related aspects of cultural, social and spiritual health . Cooperation with other sports bodies to achieve these goals , and to develop means of achieving them. Exchange of visits and meetings with sports bodies of Arab and foreign countries. Creating means and the conduct of ways to fill the vacuum Times Members including back them benefit desired
The sixties
Qadsia sc was one of the first Kuwaiti teams to be established in Kuwait along side Al-Arabi SC and Kuwait SC they started football in 1961-62 football season and finished 2nd in 3 years in a row behind Al-Arabi SC which started the Kuwait Derby between them. their first league title came in 1968-69.
70's and 80's
through these 20 years Qadsia won the league 5 times and many other trophies. Also competed in the GCC Champions League.
90's and the start of the 21st century
Since 2002 Al-Arabi SC never won the league which made Qadisa make there dominance in football by winning the league 3 times after Al-Arabi SC's last run and then losing it 3 times to Kuwait SC then winning it again 4 times in a row Making Qadsia the 2nd team in Kuwait to win the league 4 times in a row at the time Qadsia SC has been to the final if the AFC Cup twice in 2010 and 2013 byt lost both first to Club Union from Syria in 2010 and Kuwait SC in 2013.
