Nelson Frazier, Jr. (born February 14 1972) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring names Mabel and Viscera, who is currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment and performing on the ECW brand.[1] as Big Daddy V.

Throughout his career he has held championships in a number of promotions, including the top titles of the United States Wrestling Association off-shoots Memphis Wrestling[2] and Memphis Championship Wrestling,[3] and the World Wrestling Council promotion of Puerto Rico.[4] He's also held the Hardcore[5] and World Tag Team[6] titles of World Wrestling Entertainment, the company where he's spent the bulk of his career.[7]

Career

World Wrestling Federation (1993-1995)

Men on a Mission

Frazier began his career as Nelson Knight, comprising the team The Harlem Knights with his partner and kayfabe brother Bobby.[7] The team wrestled in the United States Wrestling Association and the Pro Wrestling Federation, winning the PWF Tag Team Championship on two occasions,[8] before being signed by the World Wrestling Federation.

Upon coming to the World Wrestling Federation the Harlem Knights went through a gimmick change, becoming Men on a Mission. Their new gimmick had them clad in purple and accompanied by a manager, Oscar, who would rap as he walked them down the aisle.[9] Men on a Mission began as faces in the tag team division,[10] holding the Tag Team Championship once -- for two days -- in 1994.[6] However, in 1995 Mabel began a singles career, winning the King of the Ring[11] and turning heel.[10]

King Mabel

Mabel added a King designation to his name after winning the King of the Ring tournament, with his former partner Mo following suit and becoming Sir Mo to act as his manager,[10] Oscar having been dismissed -- and attacked -- by the pair some months earlier.[9] King Mabel got the then-traditional match with the WWF Champion at SummerSlam, but was unable to defeat Diesel.[12] Following that he became involved in the Yokozuna/Undertaker feud, attacking The Undertaker alongside Yokozuna after a match, taking turns dropping legs across his face until they (kayfabe) fractured an orbital bone in his eye.[13][14] When the Undertaker returned two months later, wearing a protective mask, he defeated Mabel in a Casket match at the December 1995 In Your House: Season's Beatings[15] in what turned out to be the last major event appearance for Mabel (and Mo) in the World Wrestling Federation for two years.

Post-WWF (1995-1998)

For December of 1995 and the first part of January 1996 Mabel took dual bookings with the World Wrestling Federation and the Puerto Rico based World Wrestling Council. In WWC he engaged in a feud with Carly Colon, during which the Universal Heavyweight Championship was "held up" following a match between the two of them before Mabel won it and held it for a month.[4]

He was released from the WWF in early 1996 and spent much the next two years in Tennessee wrestling for the United States Wrestling Association, which went through a number of changes during his stay to become Memphis Championship Wrestling and Memphis Wrestling. While there he captured the top title twice.[2][3]

World Wrestling Federation (1998-2000)

On July 6,1998 Mabel made a one time, surprise return to the World Wrestling Federation to challenge, and lose to, the new King of the Ring: Ken Shamrock.[16]

Viscera

He made an official return in 1999, first appearing at the pre-show for the Royal Rumble, before appearing on the show itself, on which he was "kidnapped" by The Undertaker, his Acolytes (Bradshaw and Faarooq) and Mideon.[17] The next night he was re-christened Viscera[7] and began acting as the Ministry of Darkness' enforcer, adopting a more gothic look in the process; including white out contact lenses, a white mohawk and a black bodysuit.[18]

After the July 1999 break up of the Ministry, the Viscera character floated around the mid-card, frequently teaming with fellow former Ministry member Mideon, and becoming part of the burgeoning hardcore division -- winning the Hardcore Championship once[5] before he parted ways with the company again in 2000.

Post-WWF (2003-2004)

In March 2003 Frazier, using his Nelson Knight name, made a surprise appearance at a weekly NWA: Total Nonstop Action pay-per-view at the side of Ron Killings.[19] He appeared again the next week,[20] but didn't stay with the company beyond that.

He made a number of other independent appearances, including returning to the Memphis area and winning the Memphis Championship Wrestling Southern Heavyweight Championship.

World Wrestling Entertainment (2004-Present)

Viscera returned to the World Wrestling Federation, now renamed World Wrestling Entertainment, in 2004. His first appearance had him and fellow former Ministry of Darkness member Gangrel surprise the one-time stable leader; Undertaker, on behalf of John "Bradshaw" Layfield.[21] After just two weeks Viscera was moved to the RAW brand.[22]

RAW

Viscera spent his first three months on the RAW brand wrestling on RAW's sister show Heat, only making the odd appearance on the actual RAW show.

In April, Viscera aligned himself with Trish Stratus, joining in her feud against Lita and her (kayfabe) husband Kane.[23] While the were working together Viscera attempted to seduce Stratus on an episode of RAW, only to be rebuffed until he "took care of" Kane.[24] The date began a gimmick change for Viscera, transforming in to "The World's Largest Love Machine", he started wrestling his matches pajamas and making sexual gestures in the ring. He also turned his attentions towards the RAW ring announcer Lilian Garcia, trying different tactics to seduce her over the weeks.[25][26] At the June Vengeance pay-per-view Garcia reciprocated, proposing to him in the center of the ring, only to get turned down and left in the ring crying after The Godfather suddenly arrived with a number of his hos and showed Viscera what he would be leaving behind with marriage.[27]

After the Lilian Garcia storyline ended Viscera and the like minded "ladies man" Val Venis formed the V-Squared tag team, competing mainly on HEAT. They teamed together for nearly nine months, and though their record on was respectable and they challenged for the Tag Team Title on a few occasions, they never quite reached the championship level.[28]

When Venis was put out of action with a (legit) injury Viscera went back to singles wrestling, and again attempted to win the affections of Lilian Garcia, only to be interrupted and attacked by Umaga during his proposal.[29] Two weeks later, Garcia was accidentally, and legitimately, knocked from the ring apron by Charlie Haas spraining her wrist.[30] The incident was worked into a storyline, with Haas and Viscera fighting over Garcia[31] -- after Haas apologized[32] -- and then both men turning on her (and forming a tag team) when she declared she only wanted to be friends,[33] though this team split when Haas reformed The World's Greatest Tag Team.

ECW

On June 17, 2007, after not being used much on the RAW brand Viscera was drafted to the ECW brand.[34] On July 10, 2007, Viscera made his ECW television debut as Big Daddy V, in a segment between Matt Striker and The Boogeyman, in which he threw The Boogeyman through Matt Striker's desk and chalkboard.
