==Plot Summary==

Dr. Kelso challenges the residents by offering a trip to an [[American Medical Association|AMA]] conference in Reno as a reward to the individual who presents the most interesting case study. J.D. refuses to play along though, earning him the respect of Dr. Cox.
In the meantime, Turk misses his opportunity to ask for a new argon laser on the one day of the year that Dr. Kelso grants favors, so he is forced to find another way to come up with the goods.
Dr. Cox looks after a patient who often donates to the hospital. She has a vey unique medical condition and wants to recommend him to some high-ranking acquaintance of hers; for once, Dr. Cox lets someone help his career.
Also, Elliot tries to be closer friends with Carla and find some things they have in common, though Carla isn't quite as willing as Elliot.

==Production==
* On the DVD commentary, creator [[Bill Lawrence]] said that the writers felt that they failed to do Dr. Cox's story properly, so they re-did it in a similar storyline in the third season episode [[My Lucky Night]].
