Loren Galler-Rabinowitz (born January 19, 1986, in Boston, MA) is an American ice dancer who intends to compete internationally for Israel. She currently competes with Attila Elek.
Career
Galler-Rabinowitz began skating at the age of two. She first competed with partner David Mitchell. They won the 1999 North American Novice Challenge Skate in Toronto, the United States Novice Championships and Eastern Sectional Novice Championship in 2000, and were the Junior Ice Dance champions amd Easterm Sectional Junior champions in 2002.
The pair won the bronze medal at the 2004 United States Figure Skating Championships, but missed the following year's national championship due to Mitchell's shoulder injury for a torn labrum. They also competed on the Grand Prix and at the Four Continents Championships.
Galler-Rabinowitz is currently a student at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. She graduated from the Buckingham Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge in 2004.
Her partnership with Mitchell ended following the 2006 Nationals. Galler-Rabinowitz took a year off. In the summer of 2007, she teamed up with Attila Elek with the intention of competing for Israel. However, because of ISU rules, they will not be allowed to compete internationally until the 2008 World Championships because Elek competed at the 2007 European Championships. Because Israel has only one dance spot to Worlds, it is not certain that they will be sent over Israeli-raised team Alexandra Zaretski & Roman Zaretski.
Galler-Rabinowitz and Elek plan to compete at the Israeli Nationals on August 24th.
