Known forresigning from Russia Today with a scandal

Liz Wahl is an American journalist.[1][2][3][4]

On 6th March, 2014, she triggered comment when she went off script, on air, and resigned her job, while denouncing her employer, RT, for its allegedly distorted coverage of Russia's intervention in Crimea. She also claimed that RT censored her interview with Ron Paul.

RT, RT's editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan and Liz Wahl's collegues claimed that this scandal was a self-promotional publicity stunt by a person.

Wahl's grandparents were Hungarian refugees from the Soviet bloc, who fled the Soviet suppression of the Hungarian Uprising.[5] She advanced their experiences as one of her triggers for her denunciation.

Following her resignation Wahl appeared on the three major American cable news outlets CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and was invited and interviewed by The View, Anderson Cooper and Stephen Colbert.[6][7]

Barbara Walters also voiced criticism of Wahl, saying she should not be treated like a hero.[8][9] Later she changed her mind relating to Wahl and praised her.[10]
