Kick is an upcoming Bollywood comedy action thriller film starring Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone along with Randeep Hooda in a supporting role and Arjun Kapoor and Sunil Shetty Villain Role.[1][2] It is directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.The film is now in pre-production stage. Filming of Kick will start in end of 2012 or early 2013 after the commencement of Dabangg 2 shooting. It is the remake of 2009 Telugu blockbuster Kick which stars Ravi Teja (Vikramarkudu fame) and Ileana D'Cruz (Barfi fame). The film right was bought in 2009 by the producer.[3] At First,Sonakshi Sinha was supposed to be the lead actress but was later dropped-out because of her demand for a higher pay-check.Therefore, Deepika Padukone replaced her. The film was supposed to be directed by Shirish Kunder but he opted out after the debacle of his Second Directorial Joker and the Producer Sajid Nadiadwala replaced him. This will be his first directing venture.[4][5][6]

In late 2011 Nadiadwala announced his intention to remake the film Kick, a Telugu hit movie kick starring Raviteja and Ileana D'Cruz, after Shirish Kunder and Kabir Khan backed out to direct. Nadiadwala received an invitation from the Korea Tourism Organization, and after his team visited South Korea in September 2011, he signed an agreement to shoot portions of this project and others in that country.[7] Salman Khan has signed on to act in the film, now to be directed by Sajid Nadiadwala . On October 26, 2012, Chetan Bhagat was announced to be screenwriter of Kick, and Rajat Arora would write the dialogues.[8]
Sajid Nadiadwala is hiring services of foreign action directors for Kick and would be filming in Korea.[9][10][11][12]
Latest casting update is that Randeep Hooda and Arjun Kapoor and Sunil Shetty is roped in to play an important role played by South Star Shaam in original.[1][2]
