In the Fall collection of 2007, Juicy Couture once again changed the tags. The tags still consist of a pink tag but now include a piece of cardboard that says "Choose Juicy" on one side and the story of the collection on the other side. There is no longer a pink ribbon.

Juicy Couture is a contemporary line of casual apparel based in Pacoima, California, founded by Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy. Owned by the Liz Claiborne fashion company, Juicy is known for their terrycloth and velour tracksuits, which have been made famous by the many celebrities who wear them. The line is sold in upscale specialty stores.

Slogans often adorn Juicy apparel, such as "Wake up and smell the Couture", " Go Couture Yourself", " The Joy Only Bling Can Bring", and "Dude, Where's my Couture?". The signature Juicy Crest, as well as the phrases "Love, G&P" (formerly "Love P&G") are stitched on the inside tag of each item of Juicy apparel. The order of the initials changed in early 2006 after a lawsuit by the Procter & Gamble corporation. Their slogan "Made in the Glamorous USA" found underneath the crest was changed to "Born in the Glamorous USA" after being purchased by Liz Claiborne and having much of its production shifted to East Asia.

History

Gela Nash and Pamela Skaist-Levy founded a company called Travis Jeans which specialized in maternity wear, especially comfortable jeans. This evolved into Juicy Couture, which started out as a relatively unknown brand of expensive T-shirts. It later evolved into a full line of women's apparel. The brand was originally popular on the West Coast of the United States especially California, where their fashion lines focused on comfortable women's sweat suits and sportswear.

Juicy Couture added collections for men and children in 2002. Juicy has since added socks and diaper bags. They also sell dog accessories such as dog carriers, dog beds, leashes and collars, dog toys, dog tags, and a variety of dog clothing. They even have their own Barbie dolls which are wearing miniature Juicy outfits and carry Juicy logo shopping bags. The Barbie dolls were made in the likeness of Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy.

Nash became Gela Nash-Taylor in March 1999 when she married bassist John Taylor of the band Duran Duran. Taylor and Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon performed at a party launching the line's East Coast debut in New York City in November 1999.

In 2003 Travis Jeans Inc, which owned all of Juicy's assets, was purchased by Liz Claiborne Inc. for US $53 million, plus a percentage of future earnings. Skaist-Levy and Nash-Taylor remained co-presidents of the company, and are the creative minds behind Juicy Couture.

In 2006, further licenses were granted to Tawil Associates, a clothing manufacturer, who began producing a line of Juicy clothing for infants.

Juicy Couture's signature slogan "Made in the Glamorous U.S.A." has recently been eradicated from many of the brand's inner labels. This may be due in large part to Liz Claiborne's acquisition of the company. Many of the products are now manufactured in other parts of the world such as China and Korea. Their tags now consist of the slogan "Born in the Glamorous U.S.A."

In 2007, Juicy Couture released a new tag on clothing. The new tag is pink consisting of the signature logo. The tags are all pink and there is a ribbon attached that reads Juicy Couture horizontally.

In the Fall collection of 2007, Juicy Couture once again changed the tags. The tags still consist of a pink tag but now include a piece of cardboard that says "Choose Juicy" on one side and the story of the collection on the other side. There is no longer a pink ribbon.

In August 2006, Juicy Couture launched it's first self titled Women's fragrance, Juicy Couture, which won three prestigious FiFi Awards from The Fragrance Foundation including best women's prestige fragrance of the year and best bath and body collection. A little over a year after launching Juicy Couture, they will be launching a couture pet fragrance and personal care line called Juicy Crittoure in October 2007.
