The Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) is an independent network of banks and banking cooperatives with a shared mission to use finance to deliver sustainable economic, social and environmental development. The GABV comprises 63 financial institutions worldwide; serving close to 70 million customers, holding up to US$210 billion of combined assets under management, and supported by close to 77,000 workers.
The GABV was founded in 2009. Membership is based upon a charter to use finance to find global solutions to international problems—and to promote a positive, viable alternative to the current financial system.[citation needed]
The secretariat is headquartered at Impact Hub Amsterdam in The Netherlands
The GABV also provides learning and development opportunities for senior executives, experts and employees at member banks.
