Glengad is a Gaeltacht village in northwest County Mayo, Ireland. It is north of Dooncarton Hill in the parish of Kilcommon, and has a stone circle [1]. In the summer of 2008 , it became the scene of many protests against the Corrib gas project. The project's plans include bringing a raw natural gas pipeline ashore at Glengad Strand, a Special Area of Conservation. Protests began again in April 2009 when Royal Dutch Shell attempted to begin preparatory work for the pipeline.
