Cannabis Ruderalis

Rui Jorge Carneiro Mangueira (born 1962) is an Angolan lawyer, career diplomat and politician who served as Minister of Justice and Human Rights and Angolan ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Education and career

Mangueira studied for a Law degree at the Agostinho Neto university and a master’s in International Economic Law at Warwick University.[1]

He began working in 1999 as director Legal Affairs Department and moved to the Directorate of Regional Economic Integration in 2000 serving as director. In 2004, he was appointed consul general of Angola in Dubai, United Arab Emirate before being appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Angola to United Arab Emirates in 2008. In 2010, he was appointed secretary of State for External Relations and served in this position until 2012 when he was appointed minister of Justice and Human Rights.[2] He left this position in 2017. In 2018, he was appointed Angolan ambassador to United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. He was removed from his diplomatic post in October2019. He was elected to the board of directors of of Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA) as chairman on 30 January 2020.[3]
