Distributed by 20th Century Fox, it is the sequel to Deadpool (2016) and the Twelfth installment overall in the X-Men film series. The film was directed by Shawn levy and written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Ryan Reynolds, who stars in the title role alongside Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Leslie Uggams. Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson. This will be the first R-rated film to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as confirmed by Marvel Studios in January 2021. This would be the first film of Phase 6 in the Multiverse Saga.
