Nicholas Theodore ("Nick") Nemeth (born July 27 1980) is an American professional wrestler who currently works for World Wrestling Entertainment on its RAW brand. He is a member of The Spirit Squad.

Career

Early career

Nick Nemeth wrestled for the Roman Catholic St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio where he holds the school record for most pins in a career (82). When he attended Kent State University he joined the wrestling team and eventually set the record for most career wins in the school's history (see [1]).

World Wrestling Entertainment

Nemeth signed a developmental deal with WWE and began training in Ohio Valley Wrestling.

After working nearly 12 months as a pro, in September of 2005, Nemeth made an appearance in WWE working under an enforcer gimmick, that saw Nemeth serve as a caddy for the golfer image of Kerwin White in an exclusive video found on WWE.com. His accomplishments as a wrestler on RAW include breaking a golf club over the back of Shelton Benjamin. His wrestling debut was on Sunday Night Heat, when he teamed up with Kerwin White to take on Shelton Benjamin and Matt Striker which he won after Matt Striker walked out on his partner. He would also team up with Kerwin again on the November 112005 edition of Heat to defeat the team of The Heart Throbs.

After the death of Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero dropped the Kerwin White character, and Nemeth no longer played the role of his caddy/tag partner. He wrestled singles matches against Tajiri in the WWE 2005 European tour. He also took part in a triple threat match against Rob Conway and Shelton Benjamin on this tour.

Spirit Squad

Nemeth (now known as Nicky) redebuted on RAW on January 23, 2006 as part of the Spirit Squad, a male cheerleading stable. The group, also consisting of Kenny, Mitch, Johnny, and Mikey, entered the arena during Coach and Jerry Lawler's Royal Rumble qualifying match. They surrounded the ring cheering for the Coach, distracting Lawler long enough for Coachman to gain a roll-up victory.

Since then, The Spirit Squad have made more appearances on RAW and WWE Unlimited. This included performing a special cheer for Trish Stratus during a celebration held for her by Mickie James. The Spirit Squad then became a part of an on-going feud between WWE chairman Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels. The heel McMahon hired the Spirit Squad to perform disrespectful cheers and attack Michaels. Nicky was involved in a 4-on-1 handicap match on the February 20, 2006 RAW, against Shawn Michaels. Nicky and his fellow Spirit Squad members were disqualified, but they continued the beatdown after the match, prompting Michaels' former partner Marty Jannetty to get involved. The Spirit Squad even won a 4 on 1 tornado handicap steel cage match against Michaels, and interfered during the Michaels/McMahon match at WrestleMania 22.

On the April 3, 2006 edition of RAW, Kenny, along with fellow Spirit Squad member Mikey, defeated The Big Show and Kane to win the World Tag Team Championship with help from the other members of the Spirit Squad (Nicky, Mitch, and Johnny). It was later announced that all five members of the Spirit Squad would be recognized as the World Tag Team Champions and any combination of the squad members could defend the titles in each match. Because of this rule, it was Nicky and Johnny who defended the titles in the rematch the following week.

On the April 17, 2006 edition of RAW, all five members of the Spirit Squad defeated Rob Van Dam in a 5-on-1 Handicap match. On the April 24, 2006 edition of RAW, all five members of the Spirit Squad faced John Cena, Triple H, and Edge in a Handicap match. The match went to a no contest when Triple H started brawling with John Cena.

For the next few months he would either team up with Johnny to defend the tag team titles or appear in matches with the rest of the Spirit Squad.

He and the rest of the Spirit Squad lost to D-Generation X in a 5 on 2 match at Vengeance. He and the rest of the squad would then lose again to DX in a 5 on 2 elimination match at Saturday Night Main Event, he would be the third member eliminated in the match despite not being the legal man.

Since then, they have been wrestling other tag teams including Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Eugene as well as The Highlanders.

He would also have his first singles match against Sgt. Slaughter on the October 2, 2006 edition of RAW however he and the rest of the Squad would wear female cheerleader outfits oppose to their male cheerleader outfits, and he would lose after distraction from D-Generation X. A month later, at Cyber Sunday, the Squad lost the World Tag Team Championship to Ric Flair and Roddy Piper.

On the November 27 edition of RAW, the Spirit Squad lost a 5-on-3 tag team match against Ric Flair and DX. Following the match, DX stuffed all five Spirit Squad members into a large black box. Michaels proceeded to put a sticker on the box with OVW, WWE's developmental establishment based in Louisville, Kentucky on it. Michaels hired OPS, and stated that they did not want to spend any excess money on insurance for the shipment. The act concluded with Michaels signing with Mr. McMahon's signature to ship them out.
