The 2024 FIA World Rallycross Championship will be the eleventh season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, an auto racing championship recognized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) as the highest class of international rallycross.

Johan Kristoffersson is the reigning drivers champion. Kristoffersson Motorsport are the reigning teams champions.

Calendar

On 28 February 2024, the 2024 calendar was announced. It included a first ever World Rallycross round at an unannounced location in Australia. It was also announced that there were ongoing discussions to add an additional round in Asia.[1]

Series News

  • On 6 December 2023 it was announced that the championship would reintroduce internal combustion cars to compete in the championships highest class together with the electric RX1e cars that had been introduced in 2022, on the basis of the combustion vehicles being sustainably fueled. Internal combustion vehicles had been absent from the championship since the top class moved to completely electric vehicles for the 2022 season. A maximum of 16 full time entries will be allowed to take part in the season.[2]
  • The weekend format was adjusted for the 2024 season. SuperPole was replaced by pre-determined starting positions in all heats. The time-based format for the heats was scrapped in favor of races for position, and championship points will be awarded for every heat race, semi-final, and final.[2]
  • Cooper Tires left the championship as the official supplier of tires for all cateogries. They were replaced by Hoosier Racing Tires.[3]
