Requests for registration

Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.

Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.

Please add your name to the bottom of the appropriate list (user or bot) on this page below using *{{AWBUser|your username}} ~~~~~. Enter your user name exactly as the software displays it, for example in the 'Basic information' section of your preferences. Do not use underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter. Note that all usernames begin with an uppercase letter or a symbol.

If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please change {{noadminbacklog}} to {{adminbacklog}} at the top of this page.

Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You can check your contributions in each namespace at Toolserver. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to list themselves.

If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for the purpose.

  • OccultZone, I didn't realise that edit summary's were essential. But recently I have added some presets from the "gadgets", which make it a lot easier. Also, currently most of my edits are on a page that I am trying to get up to featured list status. I'm the sole editor on the most part, and I am trying to make all the changes that are being listed on the nomination page as fast as possible. I will start to use edit summary now as i understand it's importance. KaneZolanski (talk) 16:25, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Edit summary use is not required for AWB, but it is desirable to help others know what you are doing. At this point I see you concentrating on a very few articles, so AWB does not appear to be so useful to you. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 13:00, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not having AWB is what is stopping me from concentrating on a wide range of articles. I think it would be extremely useful in allowing me to successfully contribute to Wikipedia. KaneZolanski (talk) 16:35, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not done – I suggest reapplying for AWB after another 200 edits if you've been able to routinely use edit summaries. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 22:57, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Lor (talk • contribs • non-automated contribswikicheckercounttotallogspage movesblock log • email) Recently got started with reviewer. Want to do a little more work on the Mainspace more often and I think using AWB is a good start. 06:15, 19 June 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]
  • I can see you used to be Dudel250, but were you some other user before then? Perhaps this can show how you edit. Anyway firstly I would like to see more improvements to mainspace first, eg correcting spelling, grammar, restructuring text, perhaps even writing content! tagging and reverting are not counted to towards 400 constructive non automated edits. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:58, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Done after checking more contributions and looking at some WP:AFC approvals that seem OK. EdJohnston (talk) 18:17, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • WikiWinters (talk • contribs • non-automated contribswikicheckercounttotallogspage movesblock log • email) My number of contributions is under 500 because I have had other accounts in the past. When I was younger, I was user BluWik. I had created multiple articles, one of which hit the front page (Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association -> DYK). I'll admit that I probably used far too many emoticons in talk pages and my word choice was obviously inferior to what it is now, but then again, I was significantly younger. I would love to be able to use this software as the small details are what intrigue me the most. I'd much prefer it over hitting "Random article" until I find a page that I can improve, whether it be the respective content, grammar/spelling, all-too-frequent Wiki markup errors, categories/tags, or other details that many people would necessarily miss. I'm also a frequent contributor to Wiktionary, if that means anything. 19:48, 15 July 2014 (UTC)
Requesting access as I finally got around to it. I have over 23000 edits, been using Huggle and other automated tools a while now :-) ♥ Solarra ♥ ♪ 話 ♪ ߷ ♀ 投稿 ♀ 10:55, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@RGloucester: What do you want to do with AWB? Your very recent block history is also concerning. — xaosflux Talk 04:07, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
One block, in the nearly three years I've been here. If I'm going to be accosted for that, I might as well give up now. I withdraw my request. RGloucester 04:10, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
