Requests for registration

Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.

Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.

Please add your name to the bottom of the appropriate list (user or bot) on this page below using *{{AWBUser|your username}} ~~~~~. Enter your user name exactly as the software displays it, for example in the 'Basic information' section of your preferences. Do not use underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter. Note that all usernames begin with an uppercase letter or a symbol.

If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please change {{noadminbacklog}} to {{adminbacklog}} at the top of this page.

Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You can check your contributions in each namespace at Toolserver. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to list themselves.

If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for the purpose.

  • OccultZone, I didn't realise that edit summary's were essential. But recently I have added some presets from the "gadgets", which make it a lot easier. Also, currently most of my edits are on a page that I am trying to get up to featured list status. I'm the sole editor on the most part, and I am trying to make all the changes that are being listed on the nomination page as fast as possible. I will start to use edit summary now as i understand it's importance. KaneZolanski (talk) 16:25, 30 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Edit summary use is not required for AWB, but it is desirable to help others know what you are doing. At this point I see you concentrating on a very few articles, so AWB does not appear to be so useful to you. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 13:00, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not having AWB is what is stopping me from concentrating on a wide range of articles. I think it would be extremely useful in allowing me to successfully contribute to Wikipedia. KaneZolanski (talk) 16:35, 1 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
To perform the following activities:
  • To add and remove categories
  • Add persondata

  • Harrybrowne1986 (talk • contribs • non-automated contribswikicheckercounttotallogspage movesblock log • email) To do the following:
    1. To add delete categories.
    2. To work more better in fight against vandalism, and do constructive edits, proper sentence construction, etcetera.
    3. To do better work, and work more easily for Recent Changes.
    4. This will assist me in working when my browser gets stuck or you know without using a browser.
I had already added the user box for AWB unknowingly to my user page(some time back), so apologies for the mistake in advance. I am not removing the same in hope that I will get the access. I have recently started on the reviewer role, so I believe that it will assist me more in that too. Hoping Hope Hoped Hope. Danke Schôn. Vishal Bakhai - Works 08:53, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Unfortunately I see you added promotional text like: "enviable reputation of a company which delivers every time". So I would like to see more time editing here showing that you know the policies first. Mean as custard called this "corporate b*llsh*t" (though I think this was a bit uncivil). Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:19, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello Graeme Bartlett.
I am no sure what you are referring to here? Promotional text? Uncivil comments? Frankly speaking I do not remember where might have I stated this. Please advice. Danke. Vishal Bakhai - Works 02:29, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi, the dif is at [1] and the revert was at [2]. You have probably moved on since then. AWB is not much of an anti-vandalism tool. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 05:44, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ahh, the Jain Group addition. Actually that time I had added the pointer from the company website, and was not aware that that would be considered promotion, which actually was not my intention at all. Although, I was actually going through the wiki article, and had seen that it was very less in terms of information, and had no lead, so went to the company web and added from there. Actually, I have moved on to many constructive edits, and am into anti vandalism as you can see. However, my general want of this browser is to work in a swift manner (of course will not compromise on Quality, as humanly as possible), but you never know, as to how much better way one can utilise any access that he or she has. I am a tech savvy person, so I generally take time to go through any site, any application, software, even take time to understand any part, and find different ways to work than normal way. I am currently actively contributing on WB, and have been doing so here as well. I wish to continue doing the same in more efficient manner.
Hope to be awarded with this access and utilise it in a better way to achieve good results. Danke Schôn. Vishal Bakhai - Works 06:49, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello.
Would request someone to look at this. Graeme Bartlett, if you can see this.
Jai Jinendra.

  • Gparkes (talk • contribs • non-automated contribswikicheckercounttotallogspage movesblock log • email) I am asking for the ability to use AWB for many reasons. First, I tend to spend a lot of time fixated on coding rather than working on the actual content; I look for AWB to make quicker, better editing. Second, I tend to work on history and military topics; AWB seems to make looking at multiple pages easier, linking pages quicker. Finally, I want to ensure a quality product when I am finished editing a page; AWB will not make me a better editor, but it will save time from the constant re-checking and re-editing of the same page. I know that I do not have the 500 main page edits, however, I hope that when you look at the work that I have done, it will be apparent that I take a high degree of pride in my work. I want to share my knowledge and research with others. I have found that Wikipedia is an awesome avenue to share information for others to learn. Thank you for you time to consider this request.
    • But still, 284 edits in 8 years is beyond the requirement. OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 04:11, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Revent (talk • contribs • non-automated contribswikicheckercounttotallogspage movesblock log • email) More efficient gnoming when cleaning up backlog categories such as "Articles with Invalid ISBNs". Specifically, I would like the 'consecutively edit these articles' feature. I don't intend to make any automated edits. 15:42, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Whoops... I actually forgot my username has a leading capital because I never type it that way to login. Also not sure what happened to the other tilde in my sig. Yeah, not reassuring, I guess, however I'm not wanting to use any of the 'automatic changes' features of AWB (I'm actually going to turn them off), just the ability to trawl through a category with less tabbing back and forth. Category:Biography articles without listas parameter would be another example. Revent (talk) 13:12, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Revent: I agree about that category, it requires urgent attention. OccultZone (Talk • Contributions • Log) 04:04, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Lor (talk • contribs • non-automated contribswikicheckercounttotallogspage movesblock log • email) Recently got started with reviewer. Want to do a little more work on the Mainspace more often and I think using AWB is a good start. 06:15, 19 June 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]
  • I can see you used to be Dudel250, but were you some other user before then? Perhaps this can show how you edit. Anyway firstly I would like to see more improvements to mainspace first, eg correcting spelling, grammar, restructuring text, perhaps even writing content! tagging and reverting are not counted to towards 400 constructive non automated edits. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:58, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Amortias (talk • contribs • non-automated contribswikicheckercounttotallogspage movesblock log • email) I am currently using Huggle to revert vandalism, have reviewer rights to deal with page change requests and believe AWB will allow me to increase my functionality. 21:03, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
