Rollback (add request)

User:Keep your fork, there's pie

I know I'm not the most active user but most of my edits are reverting vandalism. Rollback would make my life a bit easier and certainly wouldn't hurt. I do know the difference between vandalism and content disputes and would not misuse the tool. Keep your fork, there's pie (talk) 23:54, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please give some indiciation as to the level of experience you have with your other account? –Juliancolton | Talk 23:59, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've been editing for about 5 years, 20,000 edits or so. Keep your fork, there's pie (talk) 00:00, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks. Just curious, why do you need rollback on this account as well (assuming your main account does)? I'm sure you're not trying to deceive us or anything, I just like to be careful in situations like this. Regards, –Juliancolton | Talk 00:05, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, no worries, I understand. It's because I don't really switch back and forth between the two accounts on a given day. So I wouldn't spot vandalism with this account, switch to the other one to revert it, etc. and then switch back to this one. They're very separate, with entirely different watchlists. If you don't feel comfortable, though, I'm o.k. without it. Keep your fork, there's pie (talk) 00:16, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm willing to AGF then.  Done and best wishes –Juliancolton | Talk 00:30, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Currently using Twinkle and often view the "Recent changes" page to identify vandalism.  glennb28  t/ 21:57, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Sorry, I'm just not seeing enough anti-vandalism work in your contribution history. -- œ 23:56, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, your signature is really obtrusive and you have an image on your user page that covers part of the user interface. Not that this has anything to do with anything, of course. --Deskana (talk) 00:39, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:HyperSonic X

I want to revert vandalism in a quick way. I have read Wikipedia:Rollback feature and I know when to use it and when not to. I can find lots of vandalism using Special:RecentChanges.
Not done. You're off to a great start, but you only have a total of 40 edits, very few of which appear to be reversion of vandalism. You might like to try Twinkle, which doesn't require any advanced permissions, just to get used to reverting vandalism and warning vandals. If you asked again in a week, having done that, I'll reconsider. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 10:27, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Thesmatestguy

I Really want to remove vandalism for the good of wikipidia. I made mistakes in the past, but now I think I am ready

From thanks, Thesmatestguy 22:16, 11 May 2010

Done a look through your recent reverts shows nothing alarming and I like the smattering of UAA reports in there. Giving yo tools to make that faster seems sensible! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:36, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:ElationAviation

I would like to use Huggle to speed up the vandalism reversion process. I've only been active for a day but I have 400 reversions with few mistakes. ElationAviation (talk) 21:22, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Amazing start, but it's not just about the count. You've crammed a lot into one day, but there hasn't been time to show that you've learned from your mistakes, which by your editing nature are all within the last 24 hours. Other editors have been really kind on your talk page, which great, so I would take note of their words and your experience. Remember, rollback is only for blatant vandalism; maybe your bf has some advice!. If you leave me a message on my talk page in a week or so and keep up some anti-vandal work, I'd be more than happy to do a close review of your progress. I look forward to approving your next request! ~ Amory (ut • c) 21:49, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Zachlipton

I've been involved in RC Patrol off and on over the years. I've been using Twinkle, but am interested in trying Igloo and other tools, which would make the process easier and allow me to do this more often. Thank you. Zachlipton (talk) 23:42, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Spitfire19

I had a minor hiccup one week ago that got my rollback rights removed I guess. But I have been effectively been reverting vandalism before and since then. I occasionally revert unhelpful content as vandalism. (I never used Huggle to mark stuff as CSD) Spitfire19 (Talk) 13:37, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm seeing several concerns about your rollbacking in the past on your talk-page - I'd suggest the most appropriate course of action would be to ask Killiondude (talk · contribs), who removed rollback from your account a week ago, to determine whether he thinks you've solved the issues. ~ mazca talk 14:24, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Cancel that, I see that you already asked him and he pointed you here! I haven't got time to review your contribs right now; but I'll look later if another admin doesn't deal with it before then. ~ mazca talk 14:30, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid I'm going t go with a  Not done for now. I'm not quite convinced you've learned from those mistakes. What you need to remember is that rollback simply produces an automatic edit summary "reverted edits by Spitfire19 to last version by HJ Mitchell" for example. It's often better to use undo or one of the other Twinkle buttons that allow you to enter an edit summary so you can explain why the edit was reverted. If you came and asked on my talk page in a week or two after providing edit summaries for reversions that aren't blatant vandalism, I'd probably grant it. User:Giftiger wunsch

I've only recently started making frequent edits but I intend to keep it up. Several of my recent edits have been undoing vandalism and I have found myself having to try to manually revert edits where users have made two consequitive vandalising edits. I appreciate that I may need more experience before I can be granted rollback but thought it was worth applying. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 12:54, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Curtis23

I would like to use rollback to get rid of vandalism faster because with the pages I edit vandalism happens a lot and I don't want to have to go through things like undoing the vandalism because sometimes the vandalism is unable to be undone after say an edit conflict an editor may edit a page unknowing of the vandalsim. After this it's very tideous sometimes to re-edit the page to where the page was before vandalism happened. Curtis23's Usalions 22:33, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. Sorry, but in your last 250 contribs, which go back roughly a month, I see 2, maybe 3 edits that could have been vandalism reversion which is not sufficient for me to be entirely comfortable granting you rollback. Sorry. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:47, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to say it's actually a lot more then that it is just not labeled as vandalism but there actually is a lot more vandalism revisions than 2 or 3 in my last 250 edits. Will you take another look?--Curtis23's Usalions 22:53, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I'd look at all my edits. You'd see a lot more more vandalism rversions.--Curtis23's Usalions 22:56, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I took another look and examined a few diffs where you've used the "undo" button, but I don't see anything that would be blatant enough vandalism for you to use rollback. Your contributions appear to be very good, but I don't see a need for rollback- it's worth noting that it's a tool given to editors who frequently revert vandalism rather than an advanced status. You might also like to Twinkle, which is a very useful script both for reverting and issuing warnings. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:19, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I do try to revert vandalism any time that I can so that's why I thought that I could use rollback to make these reverts faster. Also I'm trying Twinkle but it doesn't work for me.--Curtis23's Usalions 23:23, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

 Done I just received rollback rights from User:Aqwis.--Curtis23's Usalions 21:35, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If I did do something wrong I'm sorry you can take away my rollback rights but I have started using Twinkle and have been using a plethora of it I think I'd like you to take one more look at my contributions.--Curtis23's Usalions 23:22, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
