Oliver "Ollie" Pearce (born 8 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for National League club York City.

Professional career

[edit]

Bognor Regis Town FC

Ollie made his debut for Bognor Regis at the age of 17 after previously appearing for Midhurst & Easebourne whilst also representing England Colleges. Pearce said of signing for Bognor; “Dad got talking to some people and arranged for me to come along for a trial and it took off from there. I was looking to play and it sounded good"[1].

Pearce enjoyed a goal-laden career at Nyewood Lane scoring around eighty goals in a little over 250 appearances, including four in four at the start of 2017/18. His goals fired the club to an FA Trophy semi-finals in the 2015/2016[2] season and the Isthmian League promotion campaign a year later. This success drew attention from local rivals Worthing FC.

Worthing FC

Ollie made the move to Worthing FC in 2018’s closed season for an undisclosed fee[3].

Made his long-awaited Rebels debut at Haringey Borough on 1st September 2019 and added his first goal for his new club at Lewes, a few weeks after that. A Golden Boot win (35 goals) and a place in the Premier Division Team of the Season, as well as being voted Premier Division Player Of the Year all added to a title winner’s medal in 2021/22.

Reached 100 goals in just 178 appearances at home to Dulwich Hamlet on 21/02/23 and broke the thirty goal barrier again by the end of the campaign to earn his spot in the National League South Team of the Year.

More records followed when he scored in a post-WW2 record of ten consecutive games, before reaching the landmark of 150 goals with a stoppage-time strike to round off a 3-1 win at champions Yeovil Town on 06/04/24.

York City FC

Ollie Pearce joins the Minstermen, as a free transfer, from Worthing FC on 25 May 2024[4] reuniting with previous manager Adam Hinshelwood who made the same move just three months prior[5].
