Welcome to the European comics work group of the Comics WikiProject!

Scope[edit]

This task force/work group would deal specifically with the characters, publications, storylines, locales, and, to a lesser extent, creators of European comics, as well as these characters, etc., appearances in other media.

  • Casterman, publisher of Tintin, the magazine A Suivre, and graphic novels by Pratt, Schuiten, Sokal, Boucq, ... (site in French)
  • Le Lombard, publisher of Tintin magazine and comics like Blake and Mortimer, Thorgal, Ric Hochet, Yakari, with links to sites dedicated to series.
  • Dargaud, publisher of Asterix, XIII, ... and co-publisher of many comics with Le Lombard (site in French)
  • Les intégrales Dargaud, a website provided by Dargaud on its greatest series.
  • Glénat, publisher of Titeuf and many comics (site in French)

  • Bédétheque, online catalogue containing most French langange comics, and info on authors as well (in French)
  • BD Oubliées, loads of info on the major French language comics magazines - essential for a publication history and for publications that didn't get into an album or only much later. (in French)
  • European Comics on the Web, an overview of pointers to information on European comics that has been made available on the web.
  • BD paradisio, the database on comics artists provided by the most important forum on francophone comics (in French).
  • Brussels BD tour, an independant website providing biographies of Belgian and French comics artists (in French).
  • Weborgers, a website about the Belgian culture providing general information about Belgian comics.
  • Comicsinfo.dk, a graphic online lexicon containing a wide range of comic characters and their creators.

Independant but not truly reliable sources (wikis or wikilike)[edit]

  • ToutenBD news and background. Rather reliable (in French).
  • ActuaBD, most important French comics news site. Rather reliable (in French).
  • Bdtheque, catalogue of comics series and authors (in French).
  • BD central, with dossiers and reviews on some famous comics se.ries (in French).
  • Neuvième Art, other site and current events about comics (in French).
  • Stripspeciaalzaak, site of Flemish (and some Dutch) comics shops, lots of news, reviews and interviews (Dutch only).
  • ZoZoLaLa, Dutch comics prozine, good interviews (site partly in English).
  • Zilveren Dolfijn, kind of a Dutch language version of Bédétheque, informative but not the easiest to navigate.
