Leah Elizabeth Scarpelli (born September 18, 2001) is an American soccer player who plays as a defender or midfielder for Brisbane Roar.

Early life and amateur career[edit]

Scarpelli is a native of Brick Township, New Jersey.[1] She started playing soccer at the age of four and played prep soccer at Brick Memorial High School in her hometown.[2]

Scarpelli played college soccer at Pennsylvania State University and Florida Gulf Coast University, where she was regarded as one of the soccer team's most important players.[3]

Club career[edit]

Scarpelli played for Portuguese side Sporting.[4]

International career[edit]

Scarpelli was called-up to the United States national under-17 team in 2017.[5]

Style of play[edit]

Scarpelli has been described as "brings versatility... having grown up playing central midfield and left midfield before eventually falling into a strong centre-back role".[6]

Personal life[edit]

Scarpelli is the daughter of American soccer player Craig Scarpelli.[7] She has regarded Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo as her football idol.[8]
