Max & Shred is a Canadian-produced sitcom that first premiered on Nickelodeon in the United States on October 6, 2014, and in Canada on YTV on October 7, 2014. The first season had 26 episodes.

On February 25, 2015, the series was renewed for a second season.[1]

Plot[edit]

The series chronicles the hilarious and unlikely friendship between Max Asher (Jonny Gray), a celebrity snowboarder, and Alvin "Shred" Ackerman (Jake Goodman), a science whiz-kid, who become roommates and instant friends when Max moves to Colorado to train for the Winter Cup.

However, things take a turn for the worst when Max's agent takes Alvin (dressed as Max) to a snowboarding challenge and Max and Howie have to fill in for Alvin at the science fair. At the end, Alvin does a 50-foot drop, intended for Max to do, and the boys also make up.

Alvin teams up with his friends and his nemesis, Wendy, to train for the Academic Bowl. However, once Max thought they were missing the fourth member, Wendy appears and Alvin explains that Wendy is the fourth member. Max thought Wendy has an evil plan to destroy Alvin, so he asks Howie to help. Later, Alvin, Max, and Howie finds out that Wendy has a crush on Max. Then she loses interest because Max rejects her and soon she leaves the team, making Max the fourth member. She ends up creating her own team and the two teams competed with each other to find out who will go to the Academic Bowl.

Diane says Alvin and Abby probably don't know how important each of their lives are, so they switch lives for a day. Max helps Alvin win the bet while Howie helps Abby win the bet. Alvin starts to think that Abby's life is so easy while Abby has trouble with Alvin's life. Meanwhile, Abby invents a blender scooter which fails and she starts having doubts. Abby builds a machine that would end world hunger which Howie thinks is really amazing when they see the results, leading Abby to bring the invention to school to show Alvin. Alvin makes her feel bad when the machine fails, so Alvin shows Abby his invention which also fails. Later, neither Abby nor Alvin gets the room and they learn that each others' lives are not so easy after all.

The Yogurt Yeti falls apart because Kelley has an emotional problem regarding her boyfriend, Robert, and Alvin and Abby try fixing it. Meanwhile, Howie gets together a group of fans for the Max-a-Thon she made, but Max complains about it. However, he later enjoys spending time with his fans. Elsewhere, Alvin apparently brought Kelley and Robert back together and the shop is back to normal.
