JFD[edit]

I'm new here and the page said "Checkuser clerks assist with maintenance of the page but do not directly respond to checkuser requests. If you need help, post at Wikipedia talk:Requests for checkuser." so I'm posting here.

User:JFD might be using two accounts on the same article.

User:Meatwaggon has exactly the same POV as user:JFD. Moreover, user:JFD was inactive between 29 April 2008 to 8 May 2008 (save for one edit), which is roughly the same period during which user:Meatwaggon operated on Gunpowder (1 May 2008-8 May 2008).

He finally stepped in a conversation, and knew the whole discussion.

Thanks in advance. Vtria 08 (talk) 22:01, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Listed from Wikipedia talk:Requests for checkuser (see original diff). You may wish to provide additional diff evidence or consider submitting a request at Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets. – Luna Santin (talk) 20:40, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for listing the case,
user: Zamarripa 19 and IP 72.76.253.238 may be two accounts that user:JFD has used on one article. 'JFD' doesn't show up on the revision history of Spinning wheel but still user:JFD had the article watchlisted, since he cites user:Garza 17 whose lone contribution is on spinning wheel. In this case, one account produced a false quote from an outdated source and the other restored it, attributing the invention of the spinning wheel to China. The two share the same pro-China, anti-Britain/India/Arabs POV as JFD while citing outdated sources.
Besides, I found Zamarripa 19's use of <br><br> while quoting curious. Upon searching talk:tea for <br> I found that user:JFD likes to do the same while he quotes as well. In fact, he is the only one who uses that code as far as the search here verified.
Finally, evidence suggests that both 71.172.46.153 and 72.76.253.238 edit from United States [City: New York, New York]. ([1])([2]) If Zamarripa 19 is editing from New York as well then we have two editors, both like JFD, from the same city, and both on the same article. Some coincidence, huh?

In yet another case 71.172.46.153 has attached a tag to the India section. JFD attacked this section earlier. JFD might be using both his main account and IP 71.172.46.153 as a sockpuppet on tea. Vtria 08 (talk) 23:54, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • no Declined as a) filed by a sockpuppeteer and b) insufficient evidence of disruption. Editing while logged out (whether accidental or intentional) is not by itself justification for confirming someone's IP address, unless there is disruption, edit warring, intent to deceive, etc. Thatcher 11:15, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
