One sentence stub which hasn't been expanded upon in 2.5 years. Has only one source which doesn't show that it meets WP:GNG. --SuperJew (talk) 13:42, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak Delete - no indication of GNG, but would be willing to reconsider if a substantial plying career meeting NFOOTY could be shown. Fenix down (talk) 14:23, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Although the links below give a detailed history of the man's life, both the Stevenage and Margate sources are undeniably WP:PRIMARY. However, the Stevenage source shows not only was he a prominent enough player that he appeared on a cigarette card, but also that he received non-routine coverage in newspapers during his career. Furthermore, this, this and this show a continuing level of coverage of the man well after the end of his playing career which, when all added together seem to indicate GNG. • Keep. Passes WP:NFOOTY by virtue of 5 appearances (3 goals) for Sheffield Wednesday just after the war. Decent bio on the Margate FC website, very lengthy bio/tributes on the Stevenage website, which incidentally shows he had sufficient profile to appear on a cigarette card. Lifetime involvement in football suggests he'd likely pass GNG as well as the subject-specific guideline. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 17:40, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete unless WP:GNG can be established. Hmlarson (talk) 17:52, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Per Struway2's research, subject passes WP:NFOOTBALL. If we were to delete every football biography that meets WP:NFOOTBALL but doesn't pass WP:GNG (or at least based on a cursory glance), we'd be retaining very few articles for players who were active pre-war. And all that would do is add to the already staggering level of recentist bias the encyclopedia already suffers from. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:55, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment Regardless, in its current state it doesn't stand as an article. Should be at the minimum userfied until it's a real article. Its existence as a sentence in the mainspace doesn't contribute anything. --SuperJew (talk) 06:44, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Passes WP:NFOOTY. Deletion is not cleanup. Plenty of material about him here. I've added an infobox and some basic footballing info. @GiantSnowman: Do you want to reconsider? Number 57 09:07, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
